- Wanted to share a little something with you.
I've been struggling for years with a disease that's gradually taking my hearing, this last month it got worse and playing really became a very painful thing to do, I even had to step away from playing at my church because of this, which was also deeply painful to do.
I always knew the medical prognosis, and always knew this was coming (even while on the rest of the videos there's in this channel, so maybe you can watch those keeping that in mind),
Loosing the sense of hearing is a very frighting experience, everything slowly becomes more and more far away and the only thing that remains is a high pitch sound or tinnitus instead.
Grabbing my guitar and record this was truly a very hard thing to do, but there's a reason why Paul and Silas sang while on prison, because there's power in worshiping God while you're in the darkest whole, this is how we should fight our battles, specially the ones that are imposible for us or to anyone to fight and that's what I plan to do while God allows me.
I never planned to share this anytime, but I believe God wants someone to read this and realize there's a way to fight this battle you're into and that you shouldn't give up.

By the way, I'll try continue and share whatever knowledge of gear I can with whoever asks, I know must of you guys are part of a worship team in your local churches and want to learn and grow in your instrument, and I'm very glad to know that you found something useful while watching this videos, even if its just inspiration.

Hi David, just read your story. I’m sorry to read about your condition, I don’t know what it is but I have tinnitus too so I understand the ringing. As a drummer I have to be careful and also wear hearing protection now. I pray you’ll recover.
Thanks man, I appreciate that, it isn´t easy, yes, ear protection is a must, keep good track of what can further trigger them, there's even food that can make it worse, keep salt consuming as low as possible, etc, Wish you well and I appreciate every pray you can put at night, blessings!
@@davidviem I’ve been on the diet exploring and so many things. Honestly it was the end of the world when I first got it. For me I had to learn acceptance and I hated every bit of it. De mi parte tienes a alguien acá en Costa Rica que estará orando por ti y pidiéndole al Señor que cumpla su propósito y voluntad sobre tu vida 🙏🏻 yo también sufro de Tinnitus y es algo frustrante y a veces desesperante, de ahí la motivación para los músicos jóvenes de que cuiden mucho sus oídos y hagan el esfuerzo de usar InEars a un volumen moderado, cuanto desearía devolverme al pasado y haberlos usado en ese entonces jaja. Un abrazo mi hermano y sigue adelante hasta que Dios así lo quiera, que esperemos que sea por mucho mucho tiempo más 🙌🏼🙏🏻

Tenía una pedalera mas grande donde tenía el Bigsky y el Mobius, pero decidí ir por algo más minimalista y tengo ahora mi Pedalboard con el FM3, un Microcosm de Hologram, el MC8 y un pedal de volumen Dunlop DVP4, 100% de los efectos provienen del FM3 y utilizo el Microcosm de vez en cuando para agregar algo de textura a las atmósferas. Te preguntaba porque estoy muy similar a ti, actualmente uso el FM3 con el Bigsky, un dual switch y un DVP4, pero a veces siento que el BS está demás y solamente con el FM3 me funcionará Perfecto para Worship! Sea como sea es una increíble máquina haha. Un abrazo mi hermano !!
