Do small engine manufacturers get a prize for designing the most inconvenient oil drain systems they can? This one isn’t quite as bad as most but it’s far from perfect. Thanks for the review.

Yea I agree with you but, like you said, this is actually very convenient.
Considering most people will probably only change the oil in it once a year or less, it’s not bad. I use this constantly. It’s actually running right now.

That's like some lawn mowers, have to turn up side down to drain the oil.

100 Hours on an oil change in a predator? Seems long to me. I do 25 hours on my Generac, and it's pretty dirty then.

Yeah these small engines dont have oil filters so id def go with the 25 like you said

    Upgrade the sparkplug.

That poor, poor machine :( 100 hours to the first oil change? No magnetic dip stick? Should have had its first change at 1 hour, 2nd change at 5 and then at most, every 25 hours. While still running fine, lifespan will be significantly reduced.

I have a Predator 3500, after 18 hours I had to rebuild the carburetor, actually just take apart and clean. Unfortunately, i had let it sit for about 3 months with gas still in the tank. Other than that I really like mine as well. I use mine for job site work. Just drills, circular saw, and hand grinders. I dont let it sit more than a week or 2 then run for at least an hour or more. Mine came with an hour meter already on it. I changed the oil on mine at 10 hours, checked the air filter, and cleaned the spark arrestor.

Yes Sir. That's so true. I was having some medical problems for about 4 months and didn't have much choice, but it's running good now. My health is much better as well.

Have you found where the valves are located, and the coin cell battery holder? I reckon I'm going to have to take this thing completely apart to find them. This unit passed 100 hours years ago.

On my predator generator, i disconnected one of the wires from multi function fuel selector. Then the only way for generator to be stopped is to run the carburetor out of fuel. I also run Amsoil 0W40 snowmobile oil. This is so I can start it in the winter. And I believe it will give longer life on connecting rod bearing. I also remove oil breather from carburetor in the winter to prevent engine from freezing up this breather hose, and there by causing crankcase to over pressure and blow out shaft seals. In all the generator does what I want it to do. It lives on my van reciever hitch rack, and recharges my deep cycle batteries. I want to make an auto off controller, to shut off generator when my batteries are charged. I use a 15amp multi step battery charger. It charges 2x 120amp hour lead acid batteries. I use to have a yamaha EF1000IS generator, yes the Yamaha was quieter rpm was 2500 to 5000. But it had a wore out connecting rod bearing. Then Dealer lost all the fuel parts. It tank. Shutoff valve, carburetor, and stepper motor.
