"Chuck doesn't understand it yet!" she says, and those of us in the Saundra Fan Club love that about her!
Is saundra ready a mee maw. Ger well be careful
The ending 🤣🤣🤣. You two are the best. Howdy back ❤
Chuck, you met your match with your bride! Saundra got you by the….enjoy the new equipment.
Howdy friends and neighbors…..we just love Saundra.
Here in West Virginia we purchased the same equipment that you have through the West Virginia Farmers Market Association, I’ve kept at my farm and done the maintenance on it for the last five year with zero problems I’m sure you will be happy with it , we mounted it on a trailer and the WVFMA rents it for 30 dollars a day plus a cleaning deposit we have help 100 ‘s of small farmer along the way .
My wife heard Sandra talking and she asked " is that Dolly parton" 😂 that's a pretty good compliment. ❤
LOVE the bloopers at the end!
Exciting! And I loved the outro.
Congrats on the equipment upgrade. . Really enjoy all your videos . Would Love to see a video when you use it
What about sitting the new plucker in a plastic kiddie pool? They make all different sizes. That way the pool catches all the feathers for you.
🤙Keep up the good work!!!
Nothing like a deal and a road trip there chuck..
Nice. We bought the same kind plucker and scalder new from the folks in PA. It’s pretty nice equipment. The motor on the plucker went bad when we first got it and they sent a replacement (new one) and I changed it out. The switch on it is supposed to be water tight but it’s just a cheap box with a seal that operates a normal light switch inside. I’m going to replace that with a better switch. We have done about 500 - 600 so far and pretty happy with it. It’s heavy stuff. The scalder is nice and the only issue we have had is sometimes the chicken legs get between the basket and the side of the scald tank. Not a bad deal but either brakes the lake or can make the belt slip. I still have the contact info from the guys that made it if you need anything. Take care and blessings. - Tom
I forgot to add that the motor on the plucker is not a wash down rated motor. You won’t want to spray directly onto it. The shower head never seemed to cause any issues with it. There is a little gearbox mounted to the motor on the plucker as well. Make sure you check the oil level on it. We got ours new and I checked it before we used it and it was a little low. It’s better safe than sorry on that stuff. The burner on the scalder is just a water heater burner so it’s pretty simple. It should serve you well. Take care!
I’ll be laughing at that outro for a while 😂😂😂
I think my favorite part of the video was the last minute! 😂
You two are some of the sweetest couple. I totally agree in keeping your older equipment . My husband's thing is get rid of it we don't need it anymore but you just never know when there could be a problem. I'm so glad you two were able to find what you needed at a good savings
Always be frugal, never be cheap. Thanks yall.
Awesomeness
Love Sandra. Chuck you are too serious. Thanks for the peek into your farm life!
What about a large piece of landscape fabric to put under the large plucker to catch the feathers?
Someone mentioned a kiddie pool. Landscaping fabric may be a better choice.
@@SheratonParkFarms I use landscape fabric for the chute of my smallish plucker and it makes cleanup a breeze. Fold it up, pop it in a little trailer and roll it to the compost pile.
Lmao. Great video and yes never hurts to have a backup for when something Breaks down
You came near our place. I bet that was a long trip.
I agree that good equipment redundancy is a key to efficient production. keeping the old equipment will be good insurance. Plus, by keeping the old equipment you will be able to help friends and neighbors and create another small income stream to help save the farm..
Wise investment good video yall take care. Your wife is a hoot lol
This is so awesome for you guys! It’s always so nice to upgrade your equipment!! ❤🎉
I love watching you guys! You run a real farm to try to make a living and you allow us to be part of your journey! Thank you !
It's great that you were able to find a deal on what you need to take your operation to the next level! Fingers crossed that everything works out beautifully for your farm with increased efficiency in your poultry prep operation.
Take care and God Bless.
PS: You two always bring a smile to my face - thanks so much for that!
Great equipment guys. So happy yall found some great things for the farm .
Well dang, I wouldn't mind processing some birds.
ditto outdoors and country living. we too bought new poultryman equipment and had the same issues. motor went bad with less than 100 birds ran through it. Chicken legs get caught in the scalder . I cut a piece of sidewall out of and old tire and zip tied to the outside of the paddles between the tank and paddles. Helped the problem a lot but not completely . We always put the birds in with the feet in so if anything gets caught it will be a head. We ordered a feather chute when we had the plucker built and it was well worth it. Still it is head and shoulders above the performance of a featherman.2500 birds a year for 3 years. Both plucker and scalder will do 6 chickens and 2 turkeys. Rated at 40# of birds at a time.

Where did you find this used equipment? Thanks Glenn
Facebook marketplace
That's what I do now is reselling vintage clothing and hard goods..
We have the same stove 😂😂😂
You guys are a great team!!! Looking forward to seeing you using the new equipment.
you can put a tarp under the plucker ?
Sorry about our South Carolina roads. So bad. When you get into Georgia on I-95, it's night and day better. Sorry.Hello from Greenville.
Since you are raising cattle now, you need to get some good ole fashioned cowboy coffee. None of that highfalutin french press, although it does make some good coffee. I feel for ya'll, 16-17 hours driving is no easy task.
Hey, yall were in my neck of the woods. I live off I26 between Columbia and Charleston. I can confirm the roads are awful. So can my struts and shock that i need to replace 🥴 We recently did a long drive from SC to NY to visit my family and we were too chicken to do it all in one trip. Of course, having 6 kids makes a 12 hr trip significantly longer. Lol. Ironically the other half of my family lives near where yall went in Florida 😂
Btw, I love Saundra bustin your chops at the end. Thanks for not being too serious to cut that part out. Laugh a little Chuck ;)
When I dispatched we called 77 hell cause that’s what it put us through on a daily basis. Congratulations on the upgrades!
Oh how I wish I had a partner so I could do all these things...compromise is hard when hearts and minds are just out of sync. Good luck with the "new" equipment! And thanks for taking us on this little journey with you :)
Very nice set up Y'all, your going to enjoy useing the new equipment. Hope you post a video when you process in next couple of weeks.
try using an electric kettle, heats up faster than electric stove. Does FDA allow you to process your own chickens on the farm to sell direct to consumer?
Oh our roads are complete… MANURE😂 here in SC!! 26 is pretty bad 20 is the worst and they just replaced and “fixed” the bridge that crosses the Congaree River going from West Columbia into Columbia🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ 77 is the most recently built interstate in SC!! We were hit with a raise on our penny tax for it to go to our roads. Seems to have gone to the pockets of Lindsey Graham, Alan Wilson and Tim Scott.
French press master race
Exactly!! The only way to make coffee.
Are you selling your old plucker?
Want to know could I use the same method with pigs
does that mean your other plucker is for sale?
Does that machine clean the guts and stuff too
There is no substitute for GOOD TOOLS, no matter what the job is. Cannot blame you for keeping the backup equipment either. IMO, you are heading in the right direction. Thanks for sharing your thought process.
The roads in SC are awful and the trash is everywhere. We pay a lot of money for taxes but you’d never know it.
Sorry, i "asked"before i watched the whole video. I'm a greenie when it comes to chickens. I've done 1, so far😂😂😂😂.
💯 😅
Tickled me hearing about dispatching the birds, I guess that's a nicer way of saying killing, more politically correct
🤣
