Queen - The Night Comes Down (Official Lyric Video)

Man, this song just doesn't get the love it deserves.
That's pretty much every Queen song other than the really big hits. There's just so many obscure gems it's not even funny.
@thexalon That statement is 100% accurate
I'm thankful someone on Tumblr answered with this song. Made me discover it.
Hannah Summers listen to the song lily of the valley I flipping live that song it’s beautiful
You aren't wrong. This is one of Queen's many underrated songs.

“Lucy was high and so was I” is a reference to the song “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” by the Beatles? I think that’s interesting. All of Queen were big Beatles fans
Karley Nichole It was a reference...

mikle pickle that’s literally what I said
I thought the same thing when I read it😂 that's so interesting
phoebe atkins it is!
This is probably my favorite Queen song. The "oh oh" is just so beautiful, and the guitar, bass, and drumming are just so beautiful as well.

the intro is probably one of the most psychedelic things queen have ever done

This song seems to be about depression and how feelings of nostalgia can overwhelm.
maybe it's subjective but that is what I believe this song is about too.
LM Jones must remember to invite you to my next party
I agree. "Once I could see the good in me..... the night comes down and it's dark again". To me that's how depression feels.
ok socrates
Brian May has often struggled with depression unfortunately, and with this being his song, it seems that may well have been the case as far back as his early adult years.
Another tragically underrated beautiful Queen song

God he was good! No doubt about that at all!

Queen is the ultimate British rock band. It blends the innovation and variety of The Beatles, the sympathy and sensuality of The Rolling Stones, and the virtuosism and grandiosity of The Who and Led Zeppelin, all in a single band.
for me queen is the synthesys of richard wagner "total work of art" in modern time .

queen is a miracle... they were really made in heaven...they breakthro your heart, and make me feel im doin alright...when i realized queen had so many good songs, i was like:" i want it alllll"
so now im here. and really, i was born to love you, queen. its a hard life, but you just need to spread your wings. and i realy want to break free. when you think about it , it is a kind of magic...and im going slightly mad, that's a real scandal! they say i should play the game, but i already have one vision, and it's kinda diffrent. when i asked "who wants to live forever" nobody raised their hands, no one but you. "there must be more to life then this, you should see new horizons." he said. boy.... dont stop me now😉 "dont try so hard, love kills!" they say. but it's been one year of love, and still you take my breath away. i really just wanted somebody to love... and i was so much under pressure. ... you are the love of my life! and we are the champions! let's just listen to radio gaga and have a crazy little thing called love❤

This song is so melodic, poetic and beautiful ,For me : this song is an unknown gem uncovered by "HBO's Vinyl", and I shall so miss the series .Queen was an intellectual and sophisticated rock band, both lyrically and instrumentally .I had the good fortune to see them at Maddy-Square Garden at age 15. Freddy in his harlequin ones-y had me in such an excited state ... I literally ran laps about the stadium until I was breathless. I was beyond exhilarated to be there to experience this amazing band ! Now at age 55 and after attending many, many concerts for my simple love of music - this performance was unforgettable .
Facts ima miss that series too let's pray that god blesses us with another season

Why so many these queen songs are not famous , :(
They def have a lot that deserve more recognition, but it’s more fun to “discover” deeper tracks on your own And to share them with others. Back in the day, when music was harder to come by, it was a more meaningful experience to share in these hidden gems. Think John Mayer nailed it when he said it created a kind of inner circle that gave people a sense of belonging to something special.

Such an incredible, underrated queen song. One of my favorites. Freddies voice is so soothing, and the lyrics are brilliant. A typical song from Brian. It seems he had quite a fascination with growing up.
I was pretty lucky that when I was a kid in the 70's, this was the very first Queen record I ever listened to, and this particular song I kept repeating over and over because the music has such a unique song structure and then you kinda get lost in Freddie's amazing vocal!

He meant it as a kid. He wasn’t so young when he wrote it. He was at his mid 20s and I bet he could have started to experience some “gray” of this world already. Yes, even back in the early 70’s when the world wasn’t the total mess that it is now.

Stunning, there's a great joy and love for the song in Freddie's vocal. I believe he admired Brian massively, and vice-versa.
Plot twist: “Lucy was high and so was I” is referring to Lucy Boynton because Freddie is so amazing he’s also psychic😂
