Visited Pasig Line street in Sta Ana, Manila after hearing about the terrible fire that devastated the area last New Year's Day. The house where I grew up is on the same street.

(update march 2020- we were able to raise P60,000 from the two bar gigs and online donations. i thank everyone who came to the shows and donated online. i turned over the funds to our friends in phil red cross after they helped me identify the needs of the community (at that time it was pails and basins). PRC immediately ordered the items but unfortunately, before we could get the items, we fell into Covid 19 Enhanced Community Quarantine.
these items will be distributed once the Quarantine period is lifted but i am very sad because i could have acted with even more urgency i know how much this couldve helped during this even more difficult time. my deepest apologies to the community. :(
update feb 16,2020 - turnout to the feb 5 fundraiser was very low due to ncov fears that week. hoping more people show up in 70s bistro this feb 19. we will consolidate all donations immediately after and will donate w the assistance of phil red cross manila chapter. will give further updates here. thanks to thos who have donated already 🙏)

What struck me the most is Rico's sharp memory. He was only 10 years old when he left the house but vividly remember almost every detail of the memories he had with the house. Just wow!

I love that you are a very polite person in spite of your success as a Musician. The owner of your former home is the kindest lady ever! I have never seen somebody so kind and accommodating like that in a long time.
It's Rico's old house, but why am I getting emotional from watching this? Perhaps it is that feeling of coming home, reminding me of our old house back in the province. The old rooms and wooden staircases, the creaky beds, and wide airy windows, the familiar faces of neighbours you felt you've known your entire life. This video screams nostalgia, childhood memories not quite forgotten. Isang quality content na naman!

I grew up in sta ana as well, Lamayan St, been a choir member at Our Lady of Abandoned Church, tambay sa Plaza Hugo, graduated at Mariano Marcos, na touched ako sa video mo idol, somehow i also felt the same way as you do, so many memories of my childhood days, thank you so much, God bless you always for your generosity and kind heart.

Habang pinapanood ko ito (actually kagabi ko pa ito napanood then kaninang tanghali ay hinahanap ko ulit ito pero di ko na nakita ulit). Pakiramdam ko ay ako ang kinakausap ni Sir. Rico (siguro ay ganito din ang pakiramdam inyo).
Ramdam ko ang saya ni Sir. Rico habang ginagalugod nya ang bahay na nagmulat sa kanyang kabataan. Para bang nakaramdam din ako ng pananabik mabalikan ang mga araw na lumipas din sa aking kabataan. Ang bawat litrato na ipinapakita sa bawat anggulo ng bahay ay sadya namang nakadadala. Wala akong litrato ng panahong akoy bata pa sa aming bahay pero puro larawan ang nakikita ko kapag muli kong inaalala ang aking nakalipas.

I lived in sta. Ana because that’s where my ex live. Kapag naglalakad kami papunta sa isang sikat na bakery dyan, lagi niya tinuturo sakin yung pasig line and idk why. Watching this video, made me think to buy the hoouse &lot where we grew up in pasig. Kapag hometown talaga and childhood home, sobrang lapit non sa puso natin. Sa totoo lang, madalas ko mapaginipan yung childhood home namin sa caniogan, pasig. Ganda ng kwento neto❤️

OMG, Rico you brought back so much memories! Like you I know where Pasig Line is and I grew up biking there. My father graduated in Villamor HS in 61. I grew up Fabie Estate right behind Bagong Buhay in Herran. I went to Paco Catholic school half of my elementary years. You are lucky to go back and experience a tangible part of your childhood. I went back to see my childhood home in Sta. Ana coming from the US but unfortunately it’s been reconstructed and I can’t even see the inside. My heart ached because it’s only a part of my memories now.
I wish I had seen this charity you did for Pasig Line last year. I feel sorry for those families that had been displaced by the fire. Good luck and I enjoy your vlogs. Kudos!

Hi Rico! This post really struck a nerve and made me think of my own childhood back in the day when my life seemed so easy, yet hard at the same time. I was born 1975 so i can totally relate. Just like you, sometimes i look back asking myself if my childhood memories from home was real or if t'was just a dream. Can't help but get emotional watching this. I am a forever fan and this vlog of yours made me know you more as a person. A great human being from my point of view. My heart goes out to the families affected by the fire aswell and will include them in my prayers. Thanks!
