TV today is garbage woke p.c.crap.i don't even watch terrestrial TV anymore I make a playlist of old classics like this and the sweeney etc from you tube .it's better than telly rubbish..👍
You have made my day and year, the days when you had to be abit tasty street wise and creditability and you could pull a bird no matter how much you loved her. Again thanks heaps got love the combination of Arthur and Terry long live Minder beats anything out their now adays.
13:15. Someone I know used to do taxis. His surname is Barry and he was 014. When you have dropped the punter (s) off, you call in your number and say clear. Taxi dialogue, can vary slightly from firm to firm. Response to video only.
This is my personal favorite episode of series one. This one could have easily been from the mid 1980s. The whole low-rent minicab firm that Arthur Daley has business with is a great concept for a Minder story. I love a good episode with Des in it, he is pretty much a regular in the "legendary" third series. He even shafts Terry on the banger. Gotta love it. The silly piano music is the icing on the cake. The part where Arthur meets Debbie is a good laugh, plus poor Arthur losing his cool in the radio room. Kevin is a great, nuanced character, good interraction with Mr. Daley. In general, I personally enjoy episodes with more outdoor scenes just to see the ambience of London in the 1970s and 1980s. I would vote this as an essential episode of Minder. Thank you again for posting all of these episodes!
It was more gritty and vilanous than later comedy capers. Euston films wrote this for the Minder and not for George Cole after The Sweeney finished the same year 1979 for Dennis Waterman.
@@CARLIN4737 Oh yeah. I am sure the likes of The Smaller They Are, Gunfight at the O.K. Laundrette and You Gotta Have Friends will be out of place in series five.
@@RudeSkaBoy007: I'm even sorrier than before. I tried to find a location from Minder on Google Maps - I know parts of London fairly well - and the three phone-boxes and a block of flats in the episode have gone. I'm ashamed of leaping to the wrong conclusion. Unpleasant comments about "foreigners and immigrants" fester on videos of London from bygone times, and that's what I misinterpreted. I'll buy you a drink!
Random time again, one of the thugs was in Slingers Day, and the Uncle Arthur thing seems odd knowing that when Ray turned up later on that was the case….
I sure hope that isn't the tragic Grenfell Tower at 0:07 that they often show at the start. I think it is filmed in Holland Park just a mile east of where I was born & raised.
That's George Layton. I know him from a brilliant double episode of The Sweeney and It Ain't Half Hot Mum. I just checked his Wikipedia page and he was also in the Doctor In The House series and Eastenders. He's 79 years old and still going strong💪.
Sorry mate I made a mistake. The only thing I recognise the black guy who fitted the radio from was Eastenders. Back in the 1980's I used to watch Eastenders (when it was good) and that guy was in it. I think his name was Tony but he was definitely Kelvin's dad.
please explain to me why one of my favourite television programmes has now been ruined for me because of the extremely low quality if the sound, i`m not impressed, today you have lost a fan.
God I wish they made shows like Minder and The Sweeney, today. Television gold 📺🥇

the best on telly for years to come in 20 years from now still will b the best
"Can you get Luxembourg on it - uncle?"
The looks on their faces in that scene, wonderful comic acting
Happier times and great telly! Thanks for uploading these timeless classics.
Glad you like them!
Definitely happier times and not just because we were younger
I love watching Minder and seeing my local area (Fulham/kensington) back in the day, glory dyas when pubs were great.
Most of these boozers are long gone now.
Better days back then and not just because we were young. Literally Better time to be alive in that society.
The demographic looks awesome. It's a shame 🏴 isn't english anymore

Great to see a little humour without all the PC Correct over kill.

Those were the days eh? A quid for 20 cigs and I bet she expected change an' all.
You could still get 20 Silk Cut for 99p in 1982, let alone 1979 :)
Not much change to be fair maybe 2p? Which was still enough for a pint and a packet of cheese and onion back in 1979?
50p a pint before thatcher. Always reminds me of the hitchhikers guide pub scene😂
The gorgeous Debbie 😁 Why Terry never went with her permanently is a mystery?
A great swordsman never dwells to long after a conquest.

Bet most of these streets have changed beyond any manner of recognition now .
Sadly, I agree.

32:10...Hahahah Classic Minder.
One of the thugs (Greg) - the lad from 'Spring & Autumn' with Jimmy Jewel. (Charlie Hawkins).
19:30 Dustmen were on bloody good money then.
Funny, my first boss said I'd better improve or I'd end up as a dustman. Right little earner.
1:44 - Eric Mason, played Terry Leather in Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Series 2.
Them old British cars were well noisy 😂
I love that even the Jags door squeaks when Arthur opens it!
