Great Videos! I also have a bitchin' Camaro SS (2012) in Kuwait City. In November 2018 a flash flood destroyed my car and I received a crazy amount from the dealer to repair it. The car was completely under water at a detail shop called Foil Art! This company said they are not responsible for the damages (Kuwait Law is ridiculous). My car has been sitting in my garage for the past five months and I finally found a garage that can possibly fix my beast. I have to delivery it to them in two days. Thank you for the videos, because it help push me to get my car fixed. The garage is call ASgarage on Instagram.
*i like your idea of keeping track of everything on a spreadsheet i'm gonna have to steal that idea. i'm only on my first car but if you start off well prepared, then you should be stellar in the end when it' time for the annual reckoning. How you like your quick jack? just got one of those and since i am a truck guy i also just invested in a top side creeper to get you up and over the hood hinge and radiator brackets that dig into your knees and stomach when you are working bent over the front of a vehicle. i may not have every tool i need but i'mat least going to be comfy with the tools i have. i bought the BL7000 EXT with the SUV and Truck adapters.had a bit of an issue getting it all together but it's working like a top now. i was incorrectly sent the 12v pump but the more i thought about it I can actually use this thing anywhere so i'm keeping it. Quick jack responded to my video about it and i had already decided i'm good at that point*
Chase Dinero Vlogs soon, just got the body harness I've been needing and have to finish up the exhaust. I was hoping to be in my new building by now but keep hitting delays. Should be a SS update soon.
Water damage as well? It's been a heck of a long time since Harvey. I'd confirm the water line, if it's at or above the dash I'd walk. It's a gamble waiting this long because corrosion has had way more time to set in. Hell I just found that rear harness corroded and I had my car in under a month from the hurricane. If you get it, strip it and check all connections. I was amazed that most weatherpacks held out but some didn't. Also don't try to start the car till you pull the plugs.
Not necessarily a flood car, but any salvage camaro ss between 2010 and 2017. I have a shop with a lift here in NC. I've just always wanted one and figured this would be a cheaper way of getting one as well as working on one.
Long as you have the know how and ability to work on them , just do due-dilligence on market price and don't overpay. Internet only auctioning is a crapshoot because photos can be staged. In the future depending on if I'm bidding on something worth a decent amount I'll pay the extra to have a 3rd party check it out before it hits the block. Also check state laws on what branded titles can be retitled in your state and check the Copart page that outlines what states you can buy from/which auction types you can bid on. Crappy feeling getting ready to bid on something just to realize it's in a state you can't bid on.
A company called CAIG Labs makes a line of products for de-oxidizing and preventing oxidation of contacts, relay's , switches and other similar components. De-Oxit is the main stuff. It comes in a few different forms. It not only de-oxidizes very well, it actually improves the connectivity of point A to point B. It lasts. It doesn't dissipate fast like petroleum based contact cleaners. This is something anyone working with flooded cars should have. Red up on it and see if it is something you could use.
I like the videos keep it up. I bought a 2010 Camaro SS from Copart but didn’t pay attention and got a non repairable title. Car runs and drives great now looking for another body for a transplant
Big Poppa man that's a bad break. Was it a State Farm vehicle? I notice they tend to certificate of destruction just about everything ever for minor stuff
Hi, Question. I see that the car ended up in Florida. Did it come from Copart in Texas? I need a car shipped from Southern California to Arkansas. I don't know any shippers and don't want to overpay. Did you pay $700.00+ to get one Camaro from Texas to Florida? BTW You have a couple of nice cars. Back to the series now......
Charles Mcgehee I brokered through uship.com. You enter the type of vehicle and its condition (running/non-op), the source/destination and your rough budget. Trucking companies will then bid for your business. The companies through uship carry a star rating and reviews to help you pick a good company.
Of course. If I didn't go for the ZL1 parts and just focused on getting it back on the road there is lots of money to be saved vs buying a car on the used market. If I don't run into anything major and finish up a few more things I should still be at a position to make money from this endeavor.
Project FD you have over $13K in the car already there isnt any money to be made you have already passed the salvage book value which would be around $11500 since the clean book is right about $17500.
Video #4 is up!

Best of luck with the car and the repairs, hopefully the new shop is familiar enough with the Camaros to get it back in running shape!
Out of curiousity, were they able to get your camaro going again? Thanks
Why the new trunk lid?
The new trunk lid had the ZL1 wing already mounted. The stock SS has less bolts/holes in it.
@@Projectfd so if i wanted that same wing can i use my stock ss trunk?
You can you will just need to drill and fill some holes
What kind of lift are you using ?
Quickjack BL-5000SLX

DaddytechEnt love the quickjack and the 12v headunit is super handy to bring to like track days or mobile repair.
Any new videos for the ss

I'm looking to do this same project myself. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it. I'm looking for a salvage camaro ss now.

Charles Mcgehee Thanks for the tip, I'll have to look into getting some
Awesome videos man, keep up the great work with the channel!
Thanks for the support!

Big Poppa man that's a bad break. Was it a State Farm vehicle? I notice they tend to certificate of destruction just about everything ever for minor stuff
Yes it was it cost less than $300 to get the car running
Decent !!!
Subbed, can't wait for the next video!
Karter Schenck appreciate it!

Nice car man any possibility on saving money here?

Nice video
Appreciate it!
the car now cost you more than non flood car
I could buy this car for 17k with a clean title and no flood or accident history. Good work but i wish there was some more $ in it for yaou
With how many miles? Market has been decent for the SS, at least around here. Worst comes to worst I'll keep it and have fun with it for awhile.
true after a year is junk, so many money thrown away...
We better torch it then because someone on the internet said it isn't worth anything.

Cool story. I'll post when I make some money on it.
