Nope but meron narin akong narinig na Martin siren sa mga ibang fire brigade habang nagreresponde sila along Shaw Blvd. Di ko lang alam anong brigade sila though

Mike recently I have been recommended and started watching inverson volunteer firefighter channel and it makes me ask this question. Do city planners in the Philippines hate u guys( firefighters) cause why are their so much fires they respond to especially in those densely populated recidencal areas and zero hydrants that they have to rely on more trucks arriving on scene to give water which in turn creates chaos. Why are their no hydrants? Secondly does the Philippines not have helitak units anymore cause for those fires they'd be mighty useful in cutting down time to contain these fires.
More like a lack of urban planners 😅sad reality is urban planning hadn't been the best in Metro Manila. Most especially in Manila City itself where Iverson Fire Volunteers are located. Manila City was completely wrecked after WW2 (same scale of destruction as Warsaw, Poland). Since then redevelopment was really adhoc due to poor planning and foresight. This lack of urban planning and the massive migration of Filipinos from across the country to the capital really led to what we see today. There are hydrants but either they are too far away (poor placement) or not maintained well hence the reliance on tankers and engine relay to provide the water needed. For the helicopter units, currently only the Philippine Air Force operates helicopters (mostly UH-1s) with the water drop buckets. They normally only respond to large General Alarms (highest alarm level) and normally have to be requested by the Bureau of Fire Protection (how i understand it) for them to respond. I believe the BFP also had modernization plans to buy firefighting helicopters but with the Pandemic in 2020 and the War in Ukraine (Russian equipment seems to be a no-go now), I've not heard much about it.
@miko235 I remember their was a vid where a fire in manila some years ago caused lots of people to evacuate( actually my fire taste of philipino firefighting) where to my recollection the heli which was a huey had fire rescue markings what happened to that one
You might be referring to the Mega Tower fire as it is the only one i recently recall with a helicopter evacuation. The bird used there was a Philippine Air Force S-76 air ambulance. I was there on the ground that day as Silvertip was tasked by the BFP to pump the water up to the 20th floor via the emergency fire exit. I saw the helo making its evac sorties.
