My first thought exactly - a hovercraft is a money pit. That's why he rebuilt it and sold it - let it be someone else's problem. Also cleeter didn't bother to do the checklist before "ripping it" unless it was off cam. Not shaming just saying - it'd suck to trash it on the 2nd voyage due to lack of patience.
In the words of Jeremy Clarkson when he was about to drive a hovercraft "Now, listen chaps, I have had the pleasure of driving one of these before and there are one or two things I need to tell you. First of all, okay, if you see an obstacle, like if we're going over there, if you see one of those trees coming towards you-too late, you're gonna hit it."
We're gonna need bumpers on that, stat. Then it can go around the circle track at the factory. Also, Rotax has a turbo model of that motor... just sayin.
Just when I can't get any more mired in jealousy at Cleet having all the fun and toys I'd like to have, he goes and buys a hovercraft. Well played, Cleeter. Well played.
I laughed when I saw the following warning in the Scat manual: "Anyone who does not, for any reason, have a valid license allowing the to operate a motor vehicle should not fly this craft." Yep, all the skills for my flying car transfer directly to this vehicle... like when I need to parallel park it ...d😊
Seller: You gotta read the manual as there's a lot to learn, you have to do pre flight checks to make sure it's all okay. Ol' Cleet: Rips it fresh off the trailer. 🦅
In my experience on a small hovercraft, pertctically your lean, but it's more a weight shift. You want the body to stay al level as possible, or you loose lift air on the high side. Also concrete is hard on the skirts.
"I recommend reading through the owners manual, there's a lot of important information" *Literally an hour later* Cleetus: RIPPING at full throttle in his yard fresh off the trailer.
I was a Hovercraft pilot and instructor in the Rescue / Fire service. Once you learn to fly it you will find you have a whole lot more machine than you think. That Scat should once tuned right and the blades are tuned correct should do 35 to 40 on flat land and in the 50's on water and even better 60's plus on ice (which of course you will never see down there). Also watch out about to much running over concrete and as-fault because it will eat the skirts up, and even though the hard bottom should have skids on it landing while moving on concrete will damage it. Steering is a combination of steering, weight shift and throttle. You will find out that once you learn it you have to fly it way ahead of where your at and most of the time letting off the throttle is the wrong thing. If you are going fast the way to stop is to hard over on the steering, weight shift and full throttle and she will spin around and then stay on the throttle and the thrust will stop you in place. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

A buddy of mine got one of these in the 80's. Took it to a lakeside park to learn how to fly it. As we were flying it across the grass, the park ranger got all po'd cause we weren't suppose to have a motorized vehicle on the grass. We tried to explain to him that technically, we weren't "on" the grass. He didn't want to hear any of that so we just flew it off into the lake, which ended up being a lot more fun. It is hard to maneuver, doesn't have any brakes and is *LOUD*. You gotta wear ear protection!! With no brakes, we learned to do what we called a "power stop". Spin it around so that you are going backwards and give it the gas! It was great fun.
i have seriously used mine as a massive leaf blower, no BS! its comical blowing a massive pile over on the neighbor when they gone to work! you stand in front of it and floor it and turn the steering to adjust the direction of the leaves

It was great fun.
great story lol
i have seriously used mine as a massive leaf blower, no BS! its comical blowing a massive pile over on the neighbor when they gone to work! you stand in front of it and floor it and turn the steering to adjust the direction of the leaves
Next time on Cleetus McFarland: "We Bought a Running and Flying SR-71 BLACKBIRD!!!! ( mach 3 here we come)
Finally doing some sub 8 passes 🤣🤣
Lol
Corey Spaulding well I mean I’m pretty sure the last few months have been dedicated to turning their fastest cars into bracket cars.. give them until after hotrod drag week when they will be allowed to go under an 8
But they put Leroy’s old engine in it
“I can’t wait to take it through a drive through” LMFAO
Here he is buying and taking a hover craft across the pond, but still hasn’t gotten the tracker through it yet! #neverforgetthetracker
The tracker was much more interesting
"...if you're a fabricator or something..." - definitely have both of those covered.
No one:
Cleetus: hey guys, guess what we have for the hovercraft on the way from Texas speed.
Imagine a v8 hovercraft
It needs a rotary
Never underestimate the ingenuity of a giraffe and his hovercraft.
Lowkey roasted tho 😂 nice one homie
I had one of these for years, found it in a junkyard and was never able to get it registered. Learned to sew building skirt sections for it. I got a few tickets with it driving down the street in a school zone.
Lol sweet!!
I find it hilarious how he keeps mentioning safety precautions and manuals and cleet just sits there like “yep”
Needs "Variable Pitch" on that fan, so it can rev up and float on low pitch, then feed in more thrust as the ground speed picks up.
Will also need to drift the banking at the Freedom Factory after rain storms.
I see a variable pitch mod in the future...they must exist.
I'm sure they do exist but if not all you need is some industrial servos and a reostat to hook up to them
No harder then Collective Pitch on a Helicopter.
“Florida man takes a bald eagle hovercraft through McDonald’s drive thru”
chik-fil-a
Dairy Queen
Steven Allison yeah you’re probably right. They don’t have those where I live so I never think about that
A giraffe riding a hovercraft.... never thought I'd see the day.
I got a good laugh when the seller said " you should read the instruction manual " lol...
Cleeter: "When you were a kid..."
Me: I'm still a kid, and I'm older than you.
Growing old is mandatory growing up is optional
That's what I said
Like when I do HOT AIR BALLOONING they say taking off is an option landing is not
Boostedbois: has a jet scooter.
Cleet: Hold my beer.
Needs two jets on the hovercraft, needs two another throttle on the left side for the jets
Don't overlook the fact that the engine on there has TONS of performance parts available from the Kart world
A rotax 277?
More power please
@@Patrick-zr8tv I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow to the knee
Seems like a job for old Father Timing, he's super into Kart racing, he probably knows EXACTLY what that thing needs to be a FULL RIPPER
@@blackmedieval2461 nice
"I've always wanted a hovercraft, there's no way around that." - ain't that the truth.
I can't imagine the Cleetus Mc INC budget meeting. "Now hear me out. ...James. How do you feel about working on a space shuttle? ". 😜😜😜🤷🏼♂️
Previous Owner: I was afraid to test drive it, I didn't want to hit anything.
Me: Have you seen any of Cleetus' videos? Do you even know what he is going to do to this thing 5 mins after he gets it home? lol
I was laughing the entire time thinking the same thing lol
Is this how you are going to cross the pond?!
Yes
@@CleetusM only way that rig is making the trip is if Texas Speed builds you an LS for it 🤷♂️
V twin
@@CleetusM still need to drive under the pond though, that is literally the content that made me sub to your channel
@@shannonhamilton9513 nothing screams freedom like an air cooled vtwin.
The guys like ‘they’ve got tonnes of precautions to read about’, talks about safety gear, giving it a tune up, doing research, etc etc
Clust just takes it off the trailer and sends it, no protection, no pre flight 😂 fucking legend
Omg he wasn’t lying when he tagged James on IG 😂😂😂
What did I miss? I tried to find something but I’m not sure what you’re talking about? Thanks lol
Andrew Conte there’s nothing lol
It was on his IG story so it’s gone by now lol but basically it was one of those and they are going to make it fly with some sails and wings 😂
I like "Skeeter". It's black, it hovers, it's characteristic of Florida, and it'll bite you if you're not careful.
Cleet: I couldn't get enough drifting so I bought something that only drifts no matter what you are trying to do in it!
If he is into radio controlled toys, he needs to get an Arrma Infraction.
AdventureVenture no shit right! Lmfao
@@pantygnome He was in rc toys, even funnier, one of his first uploaded videos on this channel was him having fun with an rc boat as a kid lol.
Endless entertainment. A true gift to humanity here folks.
james comes out, sees hover craft. looks at cleetus* "it needs some nitrous"
You guys are living the dream. Multiple 1k horsepower cars, SxS's, a racetrack and now a hovercraft. I need to figure out this UA-cam thing lol
you can build a 1k hp car for under 10k-15k
FF needs a lake
katcorot Aleeady has one. That would be el lake freedom factory
LSswap Everything but for how long😂
@@philliphatton1681 if you are doing all the work yourself 10-15k usd for 1000 horse is easy and long lasting if you looked for the right deals not everyone needs a texas speed 427 lol
The freedom flyer is reserved for when you get a helicopter!
I think the Freedom Floater would suit it nicely
Or a red flyer
**two weeks later** well guys cooper found this here helicopter on Facebook marketplace and I just had to have it to fly around the freedom factory. I got an LS swap ready to go for her and some twin turbskis. Too bad we won’t be able to hear the spool when she’s all powered up
Cleetus: it could use some nitrous bottles on the back....
James pops in: I heard someone say nitrous?
I’m scared for the Florida general public
as well you should be.
I scared of the average useful idiot that believes anything msm tells them
Sean Henry we can handle it lmao
Yea...we be some crazy fucks...
I’m worried here and a couple states away
*Everyone except Cleeter on the channel* : I want this thing but can’t justify buying it.
*Cleeter* : buys it.
PLEASE paint it and call it the "FREEDOM FLOATER"
until they inevitable sink it because the engine blows up in the middle of a lake. or they let off on the power
That's perfect, considering it's already called SCAT. Scarcely Controllable All-terrain Turd.
@@Soli2deYT It floats with no power. do some research.
Garrett looking under the skirt “damn... that’s beautiful” ;)
