very nice. i had wondered how to paint a gottlieb grandslam so i will try this method! another thing to maybe add to tools besides the circle stencils to cut is a fremch curves set for curved waves
Great video, I just started painting (already cut out the stencils) I had a lot of trouble getting the curves to look good and not have jittery edges, especially on the circles. But I just now ran into a huge disappointment,. I removed the stencils and virtually all the edges were massively blurry. I used many fastening tapes and even put weights on the edges in some places. My rustoleum spray paint (I usually use an airbrush, but it was broken) went on looking good, but the edges were terrible. Any suggestions ? I still have three sides of my backbox to do. Thanks
I have never had blurry edges other than a rare soft looking edge which still looks like the factory painted it. I can only guess at what happened. Maybe the paint was sprayed on too heavy and close, also sprayed at an angle to tunnel under the stencil edge. Paint should be sprayed lightly and quickly making sure to keep the spray pattern perpendicular to the cabinet, not sweeping the spray from side to side.
@@FIREPOWER6 Thanks for your reply. I believe that a combination of too heavy of spray and that the texture of the surface that the stencil was sitting on was the culprit. I think if the surface is not real smooth that I should Pre-paint the edges making the edge of the stencil sit flat and sealed. I am trying that in the next section. BTW, I wouldn't normally use the rustoleum spray can, but the color matched so well. and its convenient. It was really really hard to spray lightly, as the volume of paint that came out of the can was heavy . Thanks again for your help !
@@lindadeschnd2735 You can use any can spray paint you like, just apply light coats so you don't get an edge build up along the stencil. On this cabinet I used Behr rattle can spray paint at Home Depot.
I have a 62 pitch and bat I have been trying to figure out how to repaint. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
This is great. Will definitely try this for my next cab project. Didn't even know about oil board.. But seems perfect.

Great video
Wow, great video. thank you!
Why do you make holes in the stencil for the tape?
