Thanks Rob...You've answered a lot of questions and concerns about the ultra...Like I told you, I'm not into airbrushing....YET!! But when it happens, I was wondering about changing the needles to a finer needle...

I also don't understand what that pointy thing is at the end of your cap to help when you're closer. I've never seen that before.
Hi the thing at the end of the cap is the sketch cap you get with the Giraldez infinity

Brilliant Rob. I said before that the only reason I haven't got one is the needle size. Now, you have shown me this and spent more of my money cos I can change needle size. One question is that as I dont have any other spray equipment, I guess I can't prep with polyester with an airbrush?

You really seem to have a crush on that new Ultra.
I'm into building plastic model kits. I've got two Evos Silverline (for 7 years and had a Badger single action before) but never got the hang of these H&S. Can't fault the airbrushes, they're just great, but let's say either I have no muscle memory or a definitely stubborn and rigid index finger :). Also it can be months between projects. I wish the paint limiter had well defined stops...
Considering to restart from scratch, I asked on the H&S UA-cam channel what they thought of re-learning with an Ultra 2024 but they said that not being a newbie I'd be better off with the new Evolution. But I don't see enough benefits in that and would then prefer to hang on to the Silverline.
Do you think the Ultra 2024 could also be a long-term replacement for the Silverline? Really tempted ... my retailer offers a very interesting preorder price (86€).

If your struggling with trigger control on the silverline which it sounds like you are and you mainly paint model kits the ultra will be perfect
As the sleeve settings work great 👍 it's a better all round brush than the original slimline move comfortable on the trigger top better feedback

Hey Rob, love your style of communication. How would the new Ultra perform with model paints? Looking for an airbrush that can do shading on 1/35 scale figure clothing and maybe faces. Would it work for that?

But the brush can get super down with the right paint consistency solvent based or water based

I've used airbrushes for model making for years, but have never tried airbrushing a portrait. Seeing you inspired me, and I would like to try it out. So I have some newbee questions :
The erasers that you use, are they just the same as standard erasers for erasing pencil from paper ? Do they work on canvas (where you using paper or canvas, I never heard of cartridge paper) ?
Do those erasers work with all types of inks, liquid aquarelle, acrylics (I inherited from a bunch of Ecolorine liquid aquarelle, loads of Rohrers inks, a few Golden acrylics, and some Molotov liquid stuff that looks pretty separeted and I'm not sure what it is) ?
The paper is heavy cartridge paper but it is primed in polyester highbuild
Then sanded in 320 grit so it's nice and smooth to work on the fw inks erase back very well on this so do createx illustration paints as for the erasers one is battery powered the tomboy one is retractable and the other one is a pencil one you can sharpen
@@dredfxcustompaint Thanks, I never realized inks and acrylics could be erased. I will investigate about this polyester highbuild stuff. But without this polyester coat, does the eraser still work properly ?
@@adwarfsittingonagiantsshoulderwithout the polyester, the inks will be absorbed into the paper and will not be erasable.
Cartridge paper is commonly used in schools for pencil artwork. It has a slight “tooth” (grainy feel) and is very slightly off white / parchment colour. An art supplier should be able to sort you out easily, for the paper.
Hello Rob….. Great videos you have. With the new ultra would you recommend doing your trigger mod to the ultra that you did for your Infinity? Also will the needles from the Infinity and Revolution interchange to the Ultra? Have another question for you as well. Did you reduce your paint to a 50/50 mixture for both the 0.2 and for the 0.4 needle? I’m in western Canada it’s difficult to get parts and pieces for the H&S but I like airbrush.
The needle and nozzle from the infinity go straight in just like all the harder and steenbeck brushes 👍as for paint 50/50 mix works brilliant
Does anyone know the needle cap and nozzle part number of the 0.2 parts?
