The back glass allows for the Samsung phones to use wireless charging, a feautre that the iPhone is still yet to have. And also for the good looks. I've been using my S7 for quite a time and I don't find it an issue, I use my phone completely naked, haven't dropped it yet, but it's probably because I'm really careful when handling my phone. So, yeah, not a big issue at least for me. And even if I dropped it I already have spare parture for the screen and the back that I ordered just for that particular reason. Caution is forearmed.
