Like your comment concering the tank welds made back in the late 30's thru late 40's all they had was SMAW [stick] and for production welding of sheet and light plate steel E6012 run on DC- electrode negative, [electrode mfgr's had 2 or 3 varieties of E6012's to best fit the applications] using motor-generator welders...the best for stick welding to this day IMHO. All manual welding of the Old Cats was done with flavors and large sizes of E6012's E6020 HOT RODS {the forerunner to todays E7024} The welders were of the highest skilled or they did not get the job or hold it very long!🙃
Before you work on that tank, be sure to review Squatch’s 10 part series on camo, aging and patina. Follow his lead and no one will be able to tell where one old Cat ends and the next old Cat begins, lol. Good luck with the remaining repairs. 🥸👍🔧✅
Spill the beans, Kyle. Did You know about Squatch253’s D2 cab before we did? Once we saw the cab, we understood his OCDism about the paint. Finn and Milo………such good bois! Keep up the good work!
So if the seat is in place how does it feel to you as far a leg comfort since you plan to have plenty of seat time, Then again without the height extension. You know that operator comfort is important also your vision field.
New tank looks great. Thanks for the bonus puppy footage. Hope the back is doing OK.
Looking good. It's always fun to see the boys at the end. That never gets old.
Enjoy these types of video of getting the old iron back in service. Keep up the good work Kyle.
The paint bothers me less.
Prior to the paint rage in the 80s we referred to that as field ready. We did tap out dents.
Thanks Kyle.
When you threaded the fuel line up it gave a good reference of the scale of the fuel tap. Go pros are deceiving with the image they record.
I would really like to see that D4 pulling a plow in the fall.
I have 5T1886 in OD green since its first owner was the US Army. I enjoy seeing the little differences early vs. later models. Keep up the good work.
That's awesome! A military unit is on my wish list, hopefully someday I can find one around here that isn't a basket case 👍
Morning KC. Right on schedule.

Those seat extensions are for old, overweight guys like me so it is easier to get up after sitting on it for awhile!🙂

She will be a runner can't wait to see her earning her keep.
"That screen or filter or whatever you wanna call that." That is the fill strainer. 😊👍
You need to get Squatch to do the paint job, he’s has had a little practice 😃 👍🏴
Yep he's 👍
I'd like to think the extensions were for comfort as I add extensions whenever possible for leg room ;)
There are 7 decades of operators telling you the seat needs to be 4inches higher. Really think about it before lowering.
Algorithm boost!
Another video to watch after work.
I have never seen Brass/Bronzes Fuel Cap, I do like that old Cap. thanks

Yes I did. I even saw it in person before it went public. Thanks, more to come!

The track guards will look just fine after you run the tractor around in the dirt for a while.
Yeah, I think that is school bus yellow..
😊👍🌎🌞😊😊😊
Why not just drain the tank? Better than straining your back….
