    That's so Beautiful and well played one of the best flute solos there is love the way it has a gorgeous run down the scale at the end with the piccolo and finishes up on the Alto flute.

    Very nice indeed. Do you read ahead? and if you playing an avrage part how far ahead would you normally be.

      For a solo like this, there is not much reading involved. The page is just a reminder since I know the notes very well. For less familiar pieces, I try to read in pieces larger than note-to-note. This could be a beat or a measure at a time, depending on the complexity. However, I try not to read too far ahead. It is also very important to concentrate on the note you are playing in the moment.
