This is a really creative video imo. It made me realise that at one point every single top player was also at my level. Just watching this motivated me lol, nice video
I am rank #76 of osu!mania currently, and I feel nothing XD. I'm happy and proud of my progress but I don't feel like if I was superior or special; I just play the game better than other people
One of them seems to have an Osage pfp. Immediatly recognized absolutely based person, I would vouch for this man on my life and i have never even heard him, I bet for him to be rank one on whatever ever happens
This video was actually really interesting! Especially for osu std i always wondered what top players felt and if a lot of them had any special feeling being at the top, but through playing and improving in osu mania it does actually kind of come clear that a lot of people just want to play the game and have fun, even if they are as high as the top 100 And also thank you for showing me in the video for a second XD
as a future top player. it kinda feels boring like it feels the same to me like when i was 5 digit. maybe hot take but being 6 digit is a relaxing feeling and fun too.
there are some people who do not comprehend being in this top player position, and as tyronix also mentioned there is a chance that you arent better than the people you pass, because this was what he was feeling
@@lonelyweeb03 its true that being ''''better''' cuz you sniped them on one score doesnt mean that your better than the person it all comes down to skillsets and everything. personally im not '''top''' player but i do feel like im atleast above the skill level of an average person in mania i guess i haven't comprehended it yet also tyronix is a w
It doesn't only come down to skillset, it also comes down to the longevity of someone's presence. Because if someone has a continuous presence, their skill is also gonna flourish as time progresses. Sillyfangirl is an example of a player with a long and still flourishing career and he's still on top of his game. You also have to not let the fact that you're a top player get to your head because there's a risk of developing a huge ego.
@@lonelyweeb03 never boasted my scores to people at all. definitely having a continuous presence will make you good at the game cuz you will be playing and improving at the same time Common sense. i personally try to stay away from the bad stuff to not discourage me from the game and only share my scores not boasting about it. i might agree about the skillsets but your pretty right honestly.
Some people have the urge to put down others (and ngl, I was like this at some point) and start rivalries. This however is extremely draining and leads to you giving up after a short while. Learning to play at your own pace is very important, especially trying to learn to resist the urge to compare yourself
The video woulda turned out great no matter the top player I called, this video is my tribute to the mania community and a good message for the people who put top players on a too high of a pedestal
i wouldnt exactly consider myself as a top player, but i have the attitude that if i cannot grow to my standards, then i have to put in more effort, and it just led to a negative feedback cycle for me, as i base my worth off of being good and growing as much as possible as a player, but with the way that osu!mania is being ranked, where 87% of the ranked maps above 7 stars is LN, i just couldnt keep up and as such i simply just quit mania for a bit to really recover from that cycle. i dont think that the meta will ever be "fixed" in that the amount of maps being ranked will no longer be skewed towards any skillset, which is a main contributor to why i felt so burned out and worthless. i want ranking to indicate overall skill, as it should, but if it cannot do its job, then why implement it at all? im an overall well rounded player, but i dont think that its fair that i get outranked by a player who can only play LNs.
It seems pretty boring and bleak being a top player. Takes a lot of time and effort just to be one of the best at a niche, small game that no one plays and is filled with total weirdos and toxic maladjusted incels
It's also just a cesspit of insecure/annoying people who continuously refuse to fix themselves. It's always a good idea to distance yourself far away from the community, I lost one of my IRL friends (from primary school) because they became so hooked to the game & community that their personality became too annoying/mentally damaging to bear.
Top players are so good you don't even know how good they are

Hello Bro. 👁
Good vid! Not a mania player (former), but I completely relate to a lot of the stuff said in this video, with some differences here or there
As someone who has never played osu this was pretty cool
