I’m in the middle of my 1K emergency fund. Right here is where I started. I did just like you said. Download all that stuff. There’s a lot of important information. Whether you know all the fancy terminology or not as long as you understand the process you’re IN! I had to watch and read everything a couple of times to wrap my head completely around it. I used envelopes just for saving since I was younger, my mother taught me. I am SO EXTREMELY HAPPY that I found your channel. RIGHT HERE is where I transformed my world. The progress I’ve seen is incredible. It’s also helping me save faster to purchase our forever home ( we’re in our mid 50’s). ANYONE can do this. Money is money no matter the denomination. Just remember that everyone’s circumstances are different so don’t compare yourself to anyone else, you’ll only discourage yourself out of financial freedom. Good luck everyone, this is a wonderful community filled with encouragement. Tfs. Have a wonderful afternoon.🤗

Thank you Jenn, unfortunately I'm the first person in my family to really care about how to use their money functionally not just live paycheck to paycheck. Its a struggle to even get my family to understand that the money I have saved isn't meant to be used until my goals are reached and when they need something they come begging me for help instead of taking responsibility for themselves. Also unfortunately i was blessed with a heart and it's been my biggest set back in my journey to being debt free.

    • @lisadearing5960

How awful for you! I’ve learned to keep my financial wins and goals to myself. If anyone says anything to me, I just tell them that since my husband just retired, we are on a fixed income and I can’t afford it. 🤐 Even though, we are actually way better off then we’ve ever been!
Only my husband knows exactly how much money we have and I guarantee he doesn’t even remember! 😂

I had a similar situation. I offered to help them get started with their own cash freedom journey. If they turned me down, then I simply explained that I was sorry what they really wanted was not my help, only my money; and I'm already using it.
I have one family member that is working on his own journey now, and even a coworker. They both tell me thanks for the info on cash stuffing, but I tell them having them call to ask for advice instead of money is all the thanks I need.

    • @lisadearing5960
      @lisadearing5960 4 місяці тому

@@amandahaggan7062 that’s awesome! Some people just want others to bail them out so they don’t have to do the work themselves. Of course, some people just don’t know where to start.
My best friend is on the verge of asking me to help her to start budgeting. She’s just not ready to face her total expenses yet! She wants to get her finances under control before she retires in 6 years. She’s never asked me for money but things were really tight for her recently so I gave her a $50.00 VISA gift card that I wasn’t using. I know she’s embarrassed for me to see her expenses. I just want to help get her on track. I would never judge her and I’ve told her that.

I love the advice that the two who commented have given you. I have actually been watching a lot of videos on “The importance of looking poor”. I know that sounds crazy but search that term on YT and watch some of the videos.
Jason and I have recently taken a significant pay cut and it’s been hard for us to say no to the kids and/or tell them they have to pay us back for things but it’s a boundary.
I would also recommend that you read the book, Set Boundaries, Find Peace.
This book was a HUGE eye opener for me. It made me realize the tactics that others had been using on me and how to combat it. It’s a game changer.
I hope you can find some strength and some ways to just say no - for yourself and for your future self. You are important! 💛💛💛

I've been cash stuffing for a little over 2 months. I have my 1,000 emergency fund already and I'm working on 3 months living expenses and several savings challenges.
I use cash wherever I can and it's made me realize that I wasn't paying attention to the cost of things when I was using my debit card. Parting with cash is very difficult compared to swiping or tapping that card!!! It's a sobering experience!!!

    • @2SisterBees

We can all be debt free. I truly believe that.
I think, for me, I really believe it because I was forced to live debt free for most of my adult life. After my first divorce, my credit was ruined. I couldn’t get a $100 loan to save my life. 😂
I did fix my credit after about 10 years of bad credit because I wanted to buy a home. I succeeded in that and bought a home after a year of fixing my credit.
The problem came when Jason and I had a bad case of lifestyle inflation.
Credit can be used responsibly- paying off balances before interest accrues. I just think that for most people, this is not as easy as it sounds- including me. Sometimes when we have it, we still don’t want to pay the full balance. I’ve been guilty of this so many times.
All this to say- debt free is the way to go. It’s stress free and saves a TON of money in the long run. 💛

I have been watching your videos for 2 weeks. I am loving them. I never open my bills and just pay the online. I did today and omg my car insurance went up for no reason. From $478 to $599 thank you. If it wasn't for you I would of just let the auto pay do it and I wouldn't of even noticed.

Another great video Jen! So enjoy how you break down the budget basics. I'm working on Round 3 of my $1k Emergency Fund. First round went split between auto and home, 2nd round went towards medical and this 3rd round I'm undecided with splitting it between home and auto or starting my month ahead. So enjoying your channel and all the tips and tricks you share.

I have my emergency fund, and thanks to all of my changes and saving challenges for my 67th birthday in September I’m able to take my bucket list vacation. I’m finally able to pay cash and go on a cruise to Alaska!! Certainly wasn’t easy changing my habits after a lifetime of not paying attention to my money, but thanks to your channel I’ve finally accomplished my goal. Can’t wait to see what my next goal will be. Thank you for all your advice!!❤

You are such a good teacher! So many UA-cam budgeters have gone to saving challenges and do very little budgeting. You really care about your viewers. Thank you for that! You and April are my heroes, and it has been a joy to watch you grow your channel and share your debt journey. I am re- building my $1000 after having to use $400 of it. Thanks so much for your help and kind words to your viewers!

It definitely seems hard at first because you are overwhelmed.
When you feel overwhelmed, take a breath and think about the solution. No matter what the problem is- there is always a solution. I promise.
Don’t give up- no matter what.
When you start making changes within yourself, things will naturally change around you. It’s a beautiful thing! 💛

I already have the 1,000 for my emergency fund and currently working on other savings like our vacation and savings for days that I don't work since I am a substitute and have a lot of days off and if I get to work summer school then I'm off for all of July. If I don't get to work summer school then I'm off for two whole months June and July but eventually want to build my emergency up to 5,000.

Thank you for the free pages! A couple questions. Where did you get the clear envelope to hold the cash and also the black tray to hold the cash? What’s the story behind the bee name and theme? Do you have curly hair? Just asking that one because mine went curly after menopause and it is EXPENSIVE to maintain. I understand that number, 😝
