This song meant so much to my significant other, who passed away two months ago. We'd travelled all over the country in the RV, and last year, she bought me WN's greatest hits. Since then, every time we started off on another adventure, we'd merge onto the freeway with this song playing. You're on the road again, my love, RIP.

Rode a motorcycle for 10 yrs and sang this song at the top of my lungs everywhere I went. Covered 10 states before arriving home with no voice but a big grin on my face. Now I drive truck and sing it still!! Happiness is finding Willie on XM.
Back in the 80's as my co-driver wife and I left the driveway pulling our rally car headed out of state she always started singing this. Lost her to cancer in '06. Now 85, I still cry every time I hear Willie sing it.

My late dad born in 1936 adored Willie Nelson since he 1st heard him. We used to go to his Glasgow gigs together. My hero dad was a truck driver and we carried his willow coffin into the crematorium to On the road again. Just as dad had asked. I wrote to Willie when my dad had a heart attack in 1999 as I was taking dad to see Willie and family in Glasgow. About a year later a signed photo appeared at my parents house. Dad didnt even know it was from me. My dad started playing guitar at 70. All inspired by Mr Willie Nelson, his family and of course, Trigger. Thanks Willie. Its been the hardest 3 years since my best friend my dad passed but maybe one day I will get to Nashville in his honour xxx

Willie is the real deal outlaw badass. I don't like country music, but I love Willie. He, a long worth Waylon, Johnny, and Chris helped bring the "cool" factor to that music and transcended genres.
Dude when I was at Heavy TO back in 2011 (a METAL festival), the PA started playing Walk the Line at one point and literally the WHOLE CROWD was singing along and PROUDLY, and we then proceeded to spend an hour Booing at Billy Talent while we were waiting for Rob Zombie after Slayer had just played. And that is a testament to how Johnny and Willie are beloved by EVERYONE regardless of the music you gravitate towards.
I'm a black dude from Youngstown Ohio... not that it really matters. I'm not a country fan, but I've ALWAYS LOVED this W.N tune!!! I was a traveling performing artist for years. This song hits me deep. My favorite line is , "Going places that I've never been, seeing things that I may never see again" So factual concerning my life travels seeing the world (domestic and abroad). I've been to many places that I may never see again. I'm blessed to have seen any of it coming from where I'm from. Great tune!!💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Used to take my mom and grandmother to local pub, to see one man band , they both requested this song several times a night.. he was so sweet and kind,he played this song at least 3 or 4 times throughout the night. Brought those ladies such joy to sing along. They are both gone now , and this song is bittersweet to me now. Thank you Willie, (and musician Justin) for the memories.
I just lost my lola(grandma) an hour ago and this song reminds me of her cause she would always play it whenever we go to the grocery store. I'm going to be playing this song for a whole week while I grieve for her.

My grandpa had this song on a cassette tape and whenever my sister and I were in his truck, we would ask him to put this song on. He died about 4 years ago and I always think of him when I hear this song. I’m not much of a crier but I am currently crying because I’m thinking of all the good memories I had with him. ❤️😢 Thanks for so many likes and so many nice comments 😊😇
Jeeepppp...I'm looking forward to visit 5 States at the USA..... Middle & Southwest...by Car .....yipppiiiiiiii And this Song is one of my favorite - my hole life. 🙋🏻♀️🇨🇭
I’m 12 years old and my uncle passed away from cancer I just remember listening to this song with him every weekend think you Willi Nelson for these amazing songs you created
I left my hometown in Ireland in '77. I've visited 34 countries, and lived and worked in 10. I first heard this song in '96 in Saigon. It has become my travel companion when I head off to a new city or town which happens every two years or so. The great outdoors is a wonderful place.
My dad passed away a few days ago and this was his favorite song. I remember the first time I put it on and he told me that it was favorite song and I'll remember the truck rides I had with him to work, I miss and love you dad you were and always will be my hero. REST IN PIECE
I love Johnny cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings as my top singers, I love this song when on the bus, I'll listen to it and see deer and stuff, it's great expecially because traveling is so fun, to see great things and just the beautiful outdoors.
I started listening to this song in the early 1980s. At the beginning of each day on a road trip, I would play it and sing my heart out. I have done a lot of traveling, mostly with my dog of the time, but friends have enjoyed my tradition too.
About 29 years ago, during our road trip for honeymoon, our american guide, usually played this song as the first in the morning to wakeup all of us. Since then, me and my husbad, play this song as the first, everyday during our vacation’s road trips. Our daughter does the same with her boy-friend😅. Obviously our first road trip was in west USA❤
This is my moving song, when my husband met me 28 years ago, he's mother may she rest in peace. Asked me if I was a gypsy. Because if I didn't like where I was working I would pack up and leave. Now I have settled. But still an awesome song
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
This was played throughout the ship, LPH 5, USS Saipan, underway back to Norfolk, after a week in NYC for Fleet Week, 1982. So appropriate, so befitting the mood of All Hands. I'll never forget the song or the salty air in my nostrils at sea.
Thank you Mike. This UA-cam comment has given me the inspiration to do great things. When you inevitably see me on the news, just know that its all because of you. Have a fantastic life.
I'm from Milan and i can't wait to get on the road again! I'm hugging you wherever you are hoping that all this will be over soon We need music like this to keep us positive and happy ! Stay at home, but stay happy as well ! 🎶
Willie nelson is a very talented singer and he has this magical voice and lyrics that I love ❤, his songs will never be forgotten, How long have you been listening to Willie Nelson songs?
Used to listen to this song all the time when I was a little kid with my dad over the road in the semi. Now I'm old and he's passed on. Miss you and love you dad.
Last summer I drove from Massachusetts to California with 3 of my best friends. This was the #1 song hyping us up and we blasted it many times on repeat. Fuckin beautiful man
We were just talking about being on the road with my dad when I was a little girl. Every time I hear this song it makes me cry.. happy tears. Trucker family that's what we are. Truckers are some of the best people. We were a big family that's what it felt like. Passing by each other on the road waving "Hi" to the other truckers. Flashing lights to let the other trucks know they can get threw or pass us up flashing the back lights to say " thank you" Truck stops were Awesome had the best games and really big food.. mmmm Some states only played country, so that's when I fell in love with country music. I miss it so much, I may not look like a country girl but it's in my heart, forever
***** It's a really tough life style. I wouldn't recommend getting into it just like that. Go for a ride with a trucker, ask to tag along, and see what they do and experience the crap that they experience constantly. You'll soon find out it takes a lot more than driving skills to be a trucker.
Im only 13 and this song brings back memories to me. I remember walking down the side of the highway from the fair with my best friend. We listened to this song on loop walking for about 2-3 hours just flipping butterfly knives, and watching the bikers go buy super fast and give us the signs of respect and even honk for us. The best people are on the highway at night and I thank this song for this. After we got hope we kept walking because of how happy we were, our legs being tired didint matter. We walked for another hour or 2 watching bikers go by at 95.
Lyrics: on the road again 2:33 On the road again I Just can't wait to get on the road again The life i love is making music with my friends And I can't wait to get on the road again On the road again Going places that I never been Seeing things that I may never see again And I can't wait to get on the road again On the road again Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway Where the best of friends Insisting that the world keep turning our ways And our way Is On the road again I just can't wait to get on the road again The life I love is making music with my friends And I can't wait to get on the road again
When I was a kid, my grandma would always play this when she would come to pick my brother and I up to take us to our dads. She passed away on friday after a three year battle with cervical cancer. Love you grandma.
One me of my most favourite songs ever. I've been living this song ever since I was 3 years old. I'm only 25 now and have moved over 15+ times in my life across Canada and have been in every province. I remember hearing this song all the time growing up driving down the highway all the time for vacations and moving to new places for jobs. Truly a song I love dearly.
It was my pleasure to see Willie Nelson live at the Britt Festival in Oregon. They say Willie is an elderly country gentleman but I think that's just a stereotype because his performance was sonorous, musical and lyrical excellence overflowing with youthful energy and country music professionalism. When I taught in Thailand, away from western music and American people, my Willie Nelson greatest hits became very important to me because it was so American and pleased my American heart.
When I was younger I used to make my grandparents play this song on repeat for me until I fell asleep in the truck, when I got older I grew out of it a bit, but my grandmother would still play it for me. She passed away about 5 years ago. I wish I could go back and listen to it with her again. My mom and I cry whenever we hear this song.
Willie's one of my all time favorites. 1 of my happiest memories was when i seen him live in concert. I walked up to the stage hopping to get his autograph when I thought the concert was over (as I think it should of been), but they told me Willie didn't do autographs anymore, so I sat back down. I don't recall how long he played after that, but I'm sure it was longer then he was supposed to. Claudia Heinowski Anybody else still listening ? 3-30-2024
It’s 1980. My sister and I (and our husbands) are all dressed in our tight-fitting western jeans, cowboy boots and hats, and leather belts with big buckles. We had gone “country” and were headed to the local theater to watch the movie, “Honeysuckle Rose,” - later renamed, “On the Road Again.” We were then, and still are, huge Willie fans. Two years earlier we had flown to Reno just to see him at Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe. It’s when the band was at their best - Paul drumming, Jody on the guitar, Bobbie on the piano, Mickey buzzing on that harmonica, and Trigger’s hole was a bit smaller. :) Oh, those were the days. We were lucky enough to them together once again in Seattle years later. Willis is so amazing and still touring, and we just recently saw Mickey playing with Chris Stapleton. Willie is timeless, and we are blessed to still have him in our lives. He and this song inspired so many memories. I’m glad to have stumbled onto this video so I could read all of yours . . . “the life I love is making music with my friends . . .”
I'm Japanese, and Americans are good friends for me. I've been to USA maybe 6 times. I used to go to Nevada and the West Coast a lot. About 10 years ago, I ran Route 66 from Chicago in 10 days. How is the lady at Midpoint Cafe?
When I was 10 my father was diagnosed with end stage emphysema with 4 year..... that same year my little sister was born , Pop held out almost 10 years!!! In that time he traveled the US, I saw all 48 lower states before I was 12!!!! He played this song over and over on those trips and it brings back so many memories ❤❤❤❤❤ LOVE YOU MATTHEW THOMAS HARTMANN I KNOW YOUR HER WITH ME AT TIMES I FEEL YOU
To Douglas: When we went to Tennessee and Kentucky. We bought this cd for our rental car. Put this song on every time we hopped in.... Thank you for a surprising trip for a true country lover.... i will never forget it.
I had not been able to drive for 6 months due to seizures. My 6 months was up on 5-15-24. I was able to drive on the 16th. I posted a video on my Facebook of this wonderful song. It was my freedom song, and I felt absolutely free!!! Thank you for that inspiring song Willie Nelson❣️🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

My grandfather was a country musician and this was his favourite song. He died a couple of hours ago to Covid-19 and can't visit because traveling is not allowed. It was very sudden and unexpected. This could happen to anyone at any moment. If you're reading this you must follow the covid-19 rules even if you're not at risk of dying you or someone else can still accidentally kill a loved one. this is very real
In the 1980's our FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter used this song for the music on a slide show, the chapter did for a parents night presentation. I have loved this song ever since.
That's Willie Nelson for ya brother 🙃 that's what makes him the legend that he is & always will be 💛 his era is country music nowadays it's not even worth trying to like 👎 just a bunch of preppy little auto-tune idiots with a fake southern accent!
depends. Pop Country or Country? If it's all about trucks, beer, and women, fuck it, it's Pop sludge. If it's about wanderlust, love, and being homesick, and what life's really like? That's Country, and it's good for you. Steer away from Toby Keith and towards Willie Nelson :)
This was the leading song on my fathers funeral. He was a truckdriver for almost his complete life. Still getting tears in my eyes whenever I hear this song.
That's what my son and I do!!! And John Denver Country Road is #2 on my playlist. I've been everywhere man is on there with Rascal Flatts Life Is a Highway (originally other singers).
Back in 2009, when i was 7 years old. Me my dad and my brother would go to the wood store to collect, stack and cover up wood in the late summer to prepare for winter. Every time we'd go there he'd play this song even though we only lived 4 miles from it. The memories this song brings back i cherish more than anything. Good times... Miss you dad!
@@TBTornado The song was avaliable on disc WAYY before 2013. We popped it in our DVD player in our 90' silverado and jammed while getting work done. Best moments with my old man ever!
I went on a trip thru Arizona, in my red convertible with the top down and listen to Willy and sang along with him, my favorite song " On the road again" as I really enjoy it, also cause I'm close to 80 years and I sure enjoy this song. Hope I can do it again before I leave this mixed up world. Thanks Willy.
This should of been a song for quarantine because when he says "I can't wait to get on the road again" it brings the vibe of being at home in quarantine

That's so thoughtful of you Katherine Thanks for your positive review, How are you and how's the weather over there?

We have to tell willie Nelson to remember?! Tho we dont want to or maybe have to.... some day?!
My father just passed yesterday, and he would also sing this song.❤ he would change it to his own tune but what a great memory to have in my heart❤
If i was a trucker, i would start every journey by playing this song.
No you wouldn't, you would play, "take this job and shove it".

Man is as active as ever
ir10031981 no way same birthday as me do u think this an coincidence that I heard it and loved it straight away
Who ever suspected Willie was that old???? He is timeless.
20 days after my birthday
I just lost my lola(grandma) an hour ago and this song reminds me of her cause she would always play it whenever we go to the grocery store. I'm going to be playing this song for a whole week while I grieve for her.
aw God rest her soul
maybe she is still in the grocery store
Rest in peace i hope you find peace
Praying for her RIP
I know this is from 10 months, she is living eternal rest, She also had a great taste in music so I respect her very much.
Old man played "On the Road Again" every time he yanked us from where we lived to a new town or state. Explicative. Love this song though.
“Art for art's sake is an empty phrase. Art for the sake of truth, art for the sake of the good and the beautiful, that is the faith I am searching for.”

My grandpa had this song on a cassette tape and whenever my sister and I were in his truck, we would ask him to put this song on. He died about 4 years ago and I always think of him when I hear this song. I’m not much of a crier but I am currently crying because I’m thinking of all the good memories I had with him.
❤️😢
Thanks for so many likes and so many nice comments 😊😇

I left my hometown in Ireland in '77. I've visited 34 countries, and lived and worked in 10. I first heard this song in '96 in Saigon. It has become my travel companion when I head off to a new city or town which happens every two years or so. The great outdoors is a wonderful place.
Just leaving Takhmau in Cambodia on my way to Sisophon by motorbike. The adventure continues.
My dad was a trucker hes whole life we lost him last month he loved willie now me and my bro cant stop listening to him

Beautiful song,how are you doing?

This was played throughout the ship, LPH 5, USS Saipan, underway back to Norfolk, after a week in NYC for Fleet Week, 1982. So appropriate, so befitting the mood of All Hands. I'll never forget the song or the salty air in my nostrils at sea.
This song gives me extreme nostalgia. Don’t let life pass you by!

Hola 👋
Willie nelson is a very talented singer and he has this magical voice and lyrics that I love ❤, his songs will never be forgotten, How long have you been listening to Willie Nelson songs?

Used to listen to this song all the time when I was a little kid with my dad over the road in the semi. Now I'm old and he's passed on. Miss you and love you dad.
Last summer I drove from Massachusetts to California with 3 of my best friends. This was the #1 song hyping us up and we blasted it many times on repeat. Fuckin beautiful man
I miss California….. will be heading their soon….The golden state…
Ahhhhh, good old real country.
when this song came out it was nothing like the rest of the country music
Alex Gilbert I assume that means you do not believe this is real country.
daniel gunner no. it was just innovative for its time
Alex Gilbert Ah, thanks for the perspective man.
country shit
You know what they say, truckers and their trucks are the blood stream of America.
DarkLaud I like that, Thank you sweetie
DarkLaud Thank you again. God bless you =)Mwah!
***** It's a really tough life style. I wouldn't recommend getting into it just like that. Go for a ride with a trucker, ask to tag along, and see what they do and experience the crap that they experience constantly.
You'll soon find out it takes a lot more than driving skills to be a trucker.
I love truckers
Im only 13 and this song brings back memories to me. I remember walking down the side of the highway from the fair with my best friend. We listened to this song on loop walking for about 2-3 hours just flipping butterfly knives, and watching the bikers go buy super fast and give us the signs of respect and even honk for us. The best people are on the highway at night and I thank this song for this. After we got hope we kept walking because of how happy we were, our legs being tired didint matter. We walked for another hour or 2 watching bikers go by at 95.
Cool I"m 11 and I love Internet and X Hamster
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung wonderfully . Perfect
I agree totally.

Lyrics: on the road again 2:33
On the road again
I Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life i love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Going places that I never been
Seeing things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
Where the best of friends
Insisting that the world keep turning our ways
And our way
Is On the road again
I just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again

Ideal song for "The Mule" movie - Clint Eastwood
When I was a kid, my grandma would always play this when she would come to pick my brother and I up to take us to our dads.
She passed away on friday after a three year battle with cervical cancer. Love you grandma.
One me of my most favourite songs ever. I've been living this song ever since I was 3 years old. I'm only 25 now and have moved over 15+ times in my life across Canada and have been in every province. I remember hearing this song all the time growing up driving down the highway all the time for vacations and moving to new places for jobs. Truly a song I love dearly.
Welcome to the true man's WORLD.

And to think this dude is now 91 and still making music. Man's an absolute legend!
I said it before and I'm gonna say it again: Willie and his songs are one of the greatest blessings on earth!
God bless ya'll, greetings from Austria!
Thank you! Good music in international
God bless you from Montana. I can't wait to adventure your country one day as I have my own.
Two words - "well said!"
Willie is one of the 3 most beautiful voices in the world, what a gift he is to us from his family.
Wow 🤩 that’s so sweet of you @kekekeemstar

I’m glad to have stumbled onto this video so I could read all of yours . . . “the life I love is making music with my friends . . .”

You're absolutely right ....Hi good evening how are you doing over the re hope you're having a wonderful day

depends. Pop Country or Country? If it's all about trucks, beer, and women, fuck it, it's Pop sludge. If it's about wanderlust, love, and being homesick, and what life's really like? That's Country, and it's good for you. Steer away from Toby Keith and towards Willie Nelson :)
