We went down the road of closing and removing railways in the UK. As soon as they were closed, everything was torn up. Now we can't move for trucks (44 tons) the damage to roads , bridges etc is costing £millions every year. Keep you railways and use them! This was an outstanding presentation! Really well done. We just have to keep this campaign going and fight for this. Keep those trains rolling and growing. It’s amazing that we have to fight for something that is so obviously needed, but we’re up against a group that only cares about their own interests. They could care less about the traffic issues. This video presentation should be sent out to state officials and the general public. Again, a great piece of work!

Yup, instead of needing to park, store and gas up multiple trucks, all you need is 1 line, a large industrial building enough to offload whatever to the train and off it goes. Im sure in the future you will see more storage houses popping up on yarmouth road in hyannis to use as shipments instead of using trucks. Lessening congestion on main roads, and may be more cost efficient someday.
Great video! Very informative. This makes me think of all the Rock Island lines that have been removed since the 90's here in Colorado and my home state of Missouri.

I would recommend you share your ideas and videos on all this to your local politicians, town leaders and all the local businesses that use the railroad because this is a line that cannot afford to be removed anywhere due to serving a vital service. Let the trail morons have their Trail alongside the right-of-way not on it
Great video. I rode the Shining Sea Trail in June and it was a really nice trail BUT what are they thinking in ripping up active tracks to extend it?? I think we can chalk it up to Liberal Logic. Bikes are so eco friendly but are they willing to put hundreds of diesel burning trucks back on the crowded roads? I don't these proponents for the trail have thought this idea through but that is so typical in this state.
It was just brought to attention that in last Fridays ( August 25th) Falmouth Enterprise there’s a half page ad titled “Save the Bourne rail trail”, “ pull up the Falmouth secondary track “. Obviously ripped off the slogan that we’re using. It’s packed with lies: removing the track would only add 4-9 trucks a day to the roads. There would have to be land taking of private property to have a rail with trail. Etc,etc. Pretty sickening stuff!

It would see more use as a walking/biking trail than a rail line Only a few trucks a day would be required and buses could handle the few passengers. Stop dreaming in the past and look into the future for the best use of the line. Railroading is a dead horse the hobbyist are beating.

At 4:37 I noticed abandoned railroad bridge and tracks is the Mass Coastal railroad going to use that too
