Although both Jensen and Jared have accents they both have said Jared's is stronger. He's gone to speech therapist to have it dialed down. I think the accents are adorable. Texas really has hot looking men.
Jared's is quite a bit stronger than Jensen's, even though both have been acting for a while..I still have to go "What? Pardon?" sometimes when listening to him talk.
Jacquie Sabatier I know me too. There have been times I get totally confused to what exactly he's saying. Like I said though I think the accents are just adorable. I have no problem with them.
on the show if you listen carefully in their scenes when they get angry or start yelling, they let their Southern, Texan accent slip... then it goes back to normal..it is super funny!
Yeah i remember i first really noticed it in season 1, in the episode that they team up with John to kill that vampire nest and Sam gets into that fight with John in the middle of the road after forcing John to a stop
oh, yeah. when Jensen gets suddenly surprised and tickled like that. I feel so gleeful. I look for those and add them to my favs. so beautiful to watch. a grown man suddenly look like a tickled little boy. it's a stellar moment.
For some reason, in the very first episode, the moment Jensen started talking, I picked up some serious accent goin' on there, and for a couple moments, I wondered if it was real or fake. But then his accent went away at some point.
As an aussie, all american accents sound the same to me...people are commenting that when they're doing emotional scenes their accents are stronger and im just here like isnt that how people talk in america??
Oh, no, not all. It's kinda like how English people don't have the same accent as French nor Scottish people folks. Those countries are dwarfed by the United States. It makes sense people from different regions have significantly different accents taking into account the difference in size.
Haha I'm with you, also from Australia and the only American accent I can differentiate is the southern one and a New York one, but even then I don't really know for sure
I'm a New Yorker living in the South and the first time I talked to someone down here out in the middle of nowhere I had the SAME reaction Genevieve did! Although I understood what Jared said in his accent, sometimes when people down here talk I am literally lost lol. Sometimes when my New York accent comes out people down here make fun of me lol
Same. lol When I went down South I got picked on for my Midwest accent. If the southern accent is really strong it really is hard to understand what they're saying, though.
born in raised in Dallas, im so accustomed to southern accents that when my friends from other states visit, i forget they never really hear southern accents and their reactions are hilarious XD
people are like, What did he say and being a Texan I understood him. Im Texas born and raised. I grew up about an hour from San Antonio and I'm there quite often. Me I'm just like what if I saw Jared when I was little and don't remember. Or like what if we were in the same building. lol I need to calm my little self down.
As someone with the neutral general american accent who grew up outside of Philadelphia, I feel like I'm on candid camera when I go most places. That reaction is incredibly familiar to me.
Having lived in the South for as long as I could remember (I was adopted when I was 3 from China and so I learned English in the South), it's kind of weird seeing people that can't understand what he's saying when I can understand it just fine haha :D
Even though I didn't grow up in Texas (my birth state), I love it that I share my birthplace with some awesome people and don't have to constantly apologize for where I'm from because I get Jensen and Jared.
I wish this video had subtitles because I can't hear much of what Jared is saying. It all sounds like mumbling. And that has nothing to do with his accent, I just can't hear him well enough to make it all out.
Texan here. I had to listen to it twice, but you're correct. Except he said it more like "Whydja wahnt that?" And he's completely correct. I've grown up in Abilene (which is pretty cosmopolitan for a smaller city), but there are tons of people from Potosi, Clyde, and Baird that I run into on a regular basis whose accents would probably throw any non-Texan for a loop.
teehee..jared is too funny, and so true. I'm from Florida, and my accent is slight, but when I visit friends in Georgia or Mississippi it just comes out more.
snillocgrom Im from India but hung out around British and Auzy people and picked the accent..but its slight, i have to control myself from fully going into the Britzy accent... so i start talking with a normal accent from Ohio and tehn some words will be accented or even a full sentence and i'd have no idea it happened till someone gives me a weird look like what just happened or what did you just say... Sorry so much to read...
I love our southern accents and our gentle southern ways so I'm bias. I guess my name gives it away. I live in the Deep South in Alabama. Where the traffic is slow. Not a red light in sight. I love sitting one my porch swing at night smelling jasmine and honey suckles at night not smog. Historic beautiful antebellum homes everywhere. Small town life you can't beat it❤️
I'm from West Virginia and I have a slight accent but I know a lot of people like down the road where they just have the biggest accent then of course you start talking like them. It's interesting alright! ha.
I'm just not hearing the accents on either of them, perhaps it's too slight to pick up on for me. I've never had an issue with understanding what they're saying except when the sound is distorted or the crowd is being too loud. I normally pick up on accents that I'm not accustomed to and I have very little experience with Texan accents, I've only ever heard a slight one on a friend who moved to Texas about 8 years ago and I only noticed it on her because I had never heard one in person before.
Born and bred in the south, lived in Texas most of my life. I'm hard of hearing which has screwed up my accent detection software, but I don't hear one in Jared Padalecki.Having said that, I watched the pilot of Supernatural and asked my mom "Does the actor playing Dean actually have a speech impediment or is he putting it on for the character?" She took a solid 10 seconds to think before replying "He's from Texas. It's a Texas accent. You're FROM Texas!" So don't take my opinion too seriously on accents.
I was thought people were crazy and were just hearing things because I didn't think they had an accent until I realized that that's because it's normal to me because I'm also from Texas. That's when I went *gasp* do I have an accent?
It depends where in Texas you're from also. I grew up in Houston and have had New Yorkers say they'd never have guessed I was Texan because I didn't have an accent. If you grow up in rural Texas (or anywhere else in the South,) you're more likely to have an accent. Also, I've never had a problem understanding Jared or Jensen, and I find it cute that others do. ;)
Yes they are. Even though I'm not that crazy about the intolerant politics in Texas I give the state a pass cause the boys are both from Texas and they're both precious and smoking hot.
They haven't got rid of it. They're just doing a more generalised American accent when they act. They let it slip when they're at home or at cons, if you watch a load of clips, you can quite clearly hear that they sound nothing like they do on the show.
Yeah, they didn't get rid of it. They just have to use a more neutral accent for the show/interviews so everyone can understand what they are saying...sometimes they slip though 😂
I know how they feel. When I lived in Montana i worked in a call center for bank of america's California market and i constantly got the "where I'm calling?"question. I constantly had to tell them they are calling Montana but if they are trying to guess my accent I'm from Tennessee.
European here as well, the only way i can explain it is that a canadian accent sounds a bit 'cleaner' and lighter than an american accent. At least, to me
Question to all the Americans that come across this: Do you feel uncomfortable when you're from the south and hear people from the north talking because of their accent? Because I'm from the very south of germany and accent down here is very strong and so is mine. And when I'm talking to someone from the north, or specifically east, I'm all the time like “argh could you stop that terrible accent, it makes me feel so uncomfortable!“ So do you know that feeling?
Maja Barbarino I was born and raised in Alabama (the deep South), but I have lived in the North several times. I don't feel uncomfortable listening to people from the North. Northern people have the stereotype that Southerners are lazy, stupid and maybe crazy. Southerners think Northerners have no manners and are rude. A lot of people believe this because the North and the South fought each other in the Civil War. It's mostly subtle dislike.
There are various accents in the US. Y'all only know tv accents played by actors who have had to go to speech to get rid of their regional accent and use a flat accent for roles. Unless you have lived here and been around the country you wouldn't know.
I'm from Kansas, and I understand Texas accents pretty well..... I have been told that I have a accent... but I don't think I do... it's funny when people mention it.. 😂😂😂😂🙂❤

Jacquie Sabatier I know, Jared has a stronger accent but I'm from the south too, so I actually can understand everything he says:)
Jackie Vester yes we do 😊😂
Thank you ; )
on the show if you listen carefully in their scenes when they get angry or start yelling, they let their Southern, Texan accent slip... then it goes back to normal..it is super funny!
ADORABLE
Nikki Kattamuri yes yes it does 😍😍
Yes I've noticed that. In the 1st and 2nd season. I thought it was just me!
IT REALLY IS 😭
Yeah i remember i first really noticed it in season 1, in the episode that they team up with John to kill that vampire nest and Sam gets into that fight with John in the middle of the road after forcing John to a stop
Jensen's smile/laugh...... omg...... Love him!!! Love them both!!!
oh, yeah. when Jensen gets suddenly surprised and tickled like that. I feel so
gleeful. I look for those and add them to my favs. so beautiful to watch. a grown man suddenly look like a tickled little boy. it's a stellar moment.

Kelly Russell I
ruealgie you're telling me is not the same? I never realized they have an accent before
well For me it also sounds all the same XD
good maybe I hear some differents like y'all... but I can't really reconise them XD
I'm from Boston and it's annoying when people call it a New York accent
Right?! I had a hard time to when I moved down here. It was so hard to understand people.
Same. lol When I went down South I got picked on for my Midwest accent. If the southern accent is really strong it really is hard to understand what they're saying, though.

Love. These guys...just LOVE💖

What is the first thing Jared says that cracks Jensen up? I, ironically, couldn't understand him.
Texan here. I had to listen to it twice, but you're correct. Except he said it more like "Whydja wahnt that?"
And he's completely correct. I've grown up in Abilene (which is pretty cosmopolitan for a smaller city), but there are tons of people from Potosi, Clyde, and Baird that I run into on a regular basis whose accents would probably throw any non-Texan for a loop.
Is it sad that I understood the "whyd ya want that" part perfectly but I guess I just did because my sister srsly talks like that
teehee..jared is too funny, and so true. I'm from Florida, and my accent is slight, but when I visit friends in Georgia or Mississippi it just comes out more.
I'm from Illinois. We have the most boring accent in the universe.
snillocgrom Im from India but hung out around British and Auzy people and picked the accent..but its slight, i have to control myself from fully going into the Britzy accent... so i start talking with a normal accent from Ohio and tehn some words will be accented or even a full sentence and i'd have no idea it happened till someone gives me a weird look like what just happened or what did you just say... Sorry so much to read...
i'm from london and i've never had a problem understanding what jared or jensen are saying :P
ysnc12 that's because they actually have mid-Western (or "normal") accents on the show and in interviews :-P
I love our southern accents and our gentle southern ways so I'm bias. I guess my name gives it away. I live in the Deep South in Alabama. Where the traffic is slow. Not a red light in sight. Hey, me too! My accent comes out really strong when I'm nervous or talking fast. But some people from WV, my gods their accent is strong.
okay i just find it funny that Gen couldn’t understand that it just sounds like normal english to my native texan ears
It's hard to understand if you haven't been raised by it. I call it the southern ear. It takes a while to understand
I've never noticed their accents in the show before but then again, I'm from Texas myself so I'm not sure if that has to do with anything
+lizzyreneaa. yes it does, didn't realize Jim Parsons(big bang theory) had a Houston accent for first 2 seasons of his show
I have the same name as Jared's wife and I couldn't be happier
I'm just not hearing the accents on either of them, perhaps it's too slight to pick up on for me. @@Island-Girl ...exactly the same, i was raised in houston and people think I'm from new england because most of my teachers were.
I'm from Texas and I think I have a big accent...I just don't know how Jared or Jensen got rid of there accent.
Actors and actresses generally train themselves to get a more neutral accent.
Yes they are. Even though I'm not that crazy about the intolerant politics in Texas I give the state a pass cause the boys are both from Texas and they're both precious and smoking hot.
Agreed ☺

That’s the greatest. Especially because I live in the panhandle of Texas myself. 😂
I know how they feel. When I lived in Montana i worked in a call center for bank of america's California market and i constantly got the "where I'm calling?"question. I constantly had to tell them they are calling Montana but if they are trying to guess my accent I'm from Tennessee.
Every southern state has their own subtle accents. I’m from southern Virginia and my accent is different from someone from SC or GA or even TX.
jared britney spears is crazy
I've lived in Alaska all of my life I'm doomed if I ever go south lmao
I'm from Maine born and raised and that's how I talk
haha it's true!! once we get around it we get right back into it and understand every word!!
I'm from Nebraska I don't think we have an accent but my cousin from Virgin seys we do everytime we vist them lol
Me, an European, not being able to tell the difference even between American and Csnadian accent: (:
I had no idea there was even a difference and I’m American 😂 America is all over the place with accents
European here as well, the only way i can explain it is that a canadian accent sounds a bit 'cleaner' and lighter than an american accent. At least, to me

Can anyone write the words of what Jared says when he is imitating the officer? I only understood license and registration
HE WAS IN AMARILLO!?!?
lol because I live in Kentucky I have never had a problem understanding him... if you guys think his is bad oh gosh! Gen would die haha!
Same! lol I love it when they slip into their accents.
@TweedleBean ur soo right
The camera is shaking a lot 😑 😑 😐
I can always understand what he's saying? But I don't really hear much difference in his accent?
The shaking gave me epilepsy.
I'm from Kansas, and I understand Texas accents pretty well..... I have been told that I have a accent... but I don't think I do... it's funny when people mention it.. 😂😂😂😂🙂❤
I can barely hear them lol
I'm from Amarillo lol!
Kyla Parker me too!
i definitely notice jared southern accent. jensen not so much.
I'm from Oklahoma and our accents are terrible!
Mississippi accents are worse.
Someone thought I was from Alabama, but I don't think I'm THAT bad
