रहमत है या कोई आफ़त आई है
हमसे मिलने आज मोहब्बत आई है
बाल बहुत ग़ुस्से में बाँधे हैं उसने
पता करो अब किसकी शामत आई है

पास हमारे आकर वो शर्माती है
तब जाकर के एक ग़ज़ल हो पाती है
उसको छूना छोटा मोटा खेल नहीं
गर्मी क्या सर्दी में लू लग जाती है

पहले तो मुझको भी हफ़्तों तक तड़पाया जाता है
तब जाकर के फिर मेरा ये फ़ोन उठाया जाता है
ग़ज़लें लिखकर सबसे पहले उसको भेजा करता हूँ
जैसे खाना बन जाने पर भोग लगाया जाता है

इस क़दर हम ख़ुश रखेंगे आपको ससुराल में
आपको महसूस होगा जी रहे ननिहाल में
दो गुलाबों की तरह हैं दो चमेली की तरह
फ़र्क बस इतना तुम्हारे होंठ में और गाल में

तुम जितना तो कोई मुझको ख़ास नहीं
लेकिन फिर भी क्यों तुमको विश्वास नहीं
मुझसे बेहतर लड़का तो मिल जाएगा
लेकिन मेरी माँ से बेहतर सास नहीं

सभी कहते बहुत अच्छा अगर तुम शायरी करती
ज़माना क्या ख़ुदा सुनता अगर तुम शायरी करती
तुम्हारी बात करने की अदा ने ही किया पागल
न जाने हाल क्या होता अगर तुम शायरी करती
