Hey guys fashion photographer and filmmaker here! I bought my A6700 Sony camera some months ago and I have been having a hard time liking the results especially for fashion. I find that, whatever lense I use, the focus of this camera is super harsh and electronic. I wanted to ask Sean and anyone who can give me some advice if you have the same feel with this camera and if there are any settings or different lenses that can help me get a more soft focus. Just trying to learn here, thank you!
Nice tips. Going to configure my buttons almost the same, but I put Subject Selection on the Record button, and focus speed and sensitivity in the Fn Menu. Burst rate H+ and compressed RAW will produce 12 bit files instead of 14 bit. Plus Compressed RAW is losing some details vs Lossless compressed.
Thank you for your insights 🎉 for portrait or documentary shootings, I don't use Manual mode anymore. I changed to the dark side and shoot Aperture priority 😅 with new Sony models you have the ability to set a min. Shuterspeed and thats really handy ❤
I was really struggling to understand why zebra mode wasn't working for me. It simply didn't change when I changed the exposure. Finally I found the Live View Display Setting that was off which meant the screen was always showing the same brightness, regardless of how the picture would turn out (and that affected zebra levels as well). It was driving me absolutely insane.
awesome and informative video man! just recently got the a6700 and loving the photos so far! even more excited now to test out with your settings recommendations
Been wanthing to buy either a6400 or a6700. I'm mainly into photography like weddings, concerts and a lot of street photography. I don't know what to buy yet.
Hey man! Amazing video and I learnt something as i picked up the a6700 a week ago. For some reason my camera doesnt show me how many shots I have left on the SD card at the top left where it was supposed to be, any idea how to fix the issue? Thanks!
Hello, I don't see Micro USB port on A6700, that means I won't use "timer remote timelapse". How I take "Bulb" and "StarTrain" "TimeLapse" photo. Help me. Thank you
Dude you need to slow down I mean slow down I've been in this business for over 30 years and I would never try to teach somebody something this quick. I never give anybody a thumbs down but this one was a must.
Awesome adventure/experience/ and pictures. That’s the stuff that stays with us for a long time. Great video like always. - good explanation with menus - cool to change camera when you explain. - very relevant information and tutorials Nice to see a photo centric video. White balance lock. I know you were talking to me 😂 Keep it up.
I have a question! I just got my sony A6700 and for some odd reason, my Soft Skin effect no longer works when I turn on a picture profile or Slog3. I am shooting in 4k, and I am able to get the soft skin effect on auto as well as everything else; however, when I apply a profile, it just dies. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I already reset the camera, but I'm guessing this is a user error lol, and that's why I am here. Is this also happening to you? Please let me know what your settings are if you are able to get it to work on your end. I'm really curious to know what I am doing wrong or if my camera that I got is broken... help!
Very odd, I just checked it on my end and it seems to be working after attempting to recreate what you mentioned. Are you on the latest 1.01 firmware? Assuming you're in manual mode? Have you tried using SLOG3 via user LUTs?
@@seandewispelaere yes I’m in manual and have tried the Slog3 via luts. It’s so odd because it seems like the soft skin effect is on however when you point it at a person it doesn’t work. I’m wondering if my camera has some sort of problem and I should exchange it for another one?
Ottimo video, avrei sottolineato che nella funzione a raffica HI+ 11ftp il valore del RW da 14bit scende a 12bit mentre mante se si mantiene a HI 8ftp il valore rimane sempre a 14bit per una maggiore qualità!
Hey Sean ty so much for all the tips, i just bought my a6700 thanks for all the vids they help me a lot ! how u edit the raws files my lightroom doesnt read them xD ty in advance
Glad you like the video and enjoy the new a6700 I converted them via Adobe’s DNG converter I’d imagine that we should have this camera as a raw profile in Adobe at some point in September, but the converter is an option for now 🤙
The content of your videos is awesome, but I wish you would talk a little slower and your menu navigation was a little slower. I spent a lot of time having to rewind in this video.
The Zebra method is good, but you need to use the historgram to see that you have all of the data in the 10-bit range by exposing to the left, center, or right. White balance is not a good word, you are setting the average light temperature, as in black body radiation.
Learning how to use Zebras to expose my photos/video from you has been absolutely everything for me 🙌🏼 saved me from throwing out so much footage
Hey I think I saw you in a few of the photos…
I did see myself and I have received ZERO payments for my work in this short film.
Sean, your actions are a way too fast , also slow down a wee bit, hard to follow
I had the same problem, simple adjust playback speed to .75 and voila'@@jamesmccombie3027
To the next level, nicely explained. I've learned a lot. Thanks man!

Duuuude, I’m so stoked I found your channel. These videos are so thorough.
Good stuff Sean! Excited to see how the a6700 holds up. Your videos are always helpful and enjoyable to watch.
That means a lot to me, Spencer, thanks for taking the time to say that.
Sir please video make where is the multiple exposure setting a6700.

Great point and I’d have to agree that aperture priority is a staple in my workflows. Thanks for the note 🤙

I have the m50 mkii thinking about switching how are-you finding it in regard with focus and quality?
I’ve been using it I bit now for videos and love it!! Once you get the settings down it’s a work horse!
Great vid thanks! Just picked up an a6700. Can't wait to try your tips!
I shoot in manual mode a lot, but the aperture and shutter priorities are useful in some situations.
Would this camera be good for portraits and weddings ?
Absolutely. BUT if you’re aiming to shoot professionally you might want something with 2 card slots

Great video, I realize I was far from getting the most of that new baby!
Thanks and enjoy the new a6700
You deserve more followers
Thanks, Jacob - I’m loving the process of making these videos and believe in the long term growth of the channel 💯

Stay well 💯

Why do you need redundancy for drive mode?
Because I always forget that I have it custom mapped

In the menu on Sony cameras, the yellow icon is for toolbox, not briefcase. 😂
Ha I've been making that mistake for years
After 2 mins had to bail, don’t know what the rush was. Got tired of paid every 3 seconds
Great video but you talk way too fast

Gigachad talking about sony alpha a6700 for 17 minutes 47 seconds ^
a lot of talk... stretching 5 mins worth of so-so info over 15 mins.
Then make your own fuckin video twinkle toes and show us how it's done..... 🤡🤡🤡
I mean you stayed so...
@@ndwknss bad argument.
Am I the only one who finds that you talk too quickly to follow?
Humble request Bro.
Little slower Plz🙏.
This guy talks a hundred miles an hour. Take a breath dude. I can't keep up
Terrible video with no useful tips
