And the met-rx apple pie is the best all-around meal replacement protein bar that I have had. It's my go to breakfast on the go bar.
@@warpticon 100%. I loved the apple pie one but saw the blueberry crumble next to it this week. Looked good, got some, amazed. Love it more than the apple
@TyaColo yup-- the fiber is a huge part-- but it's also 21g of protein for very little added crap. It's fantastic for lean cut while still giving a nice dose of protein. You can easily double up in one sitting if need be too
One cool way I found to enjoy it is to heat up in the microwave for 30 seconds. The bar becomes soft like pastry, but it can cool down quickly and becomes hard again
I took up your recommendation and tired the MRE bar just now. I got the Choclate oatmeal one. It was pretty good for a protein bar. Surprisingly good actually. I’m at work and was tired and hungry. It hit the spot for a quick fix on my break. Thank you! P.S. great video. Keep up the good work!
salted caramel comes from France (specifically from Britain, where salted butter is popular, so they basically made salted caramels with it) so yes maybe it is only recently popular for big brands, but in France this taste is known for a long time
If flavor is important to you, Barbells brand is the best protein bar hands down. It's not perfect, but it's 20g protein, 200-210 cals, and available in actually good flavors.
You’ve probably tried them before, but my favorite are the Costco, Kirkland brand, peanut butter protein bars. Decent macros, low calories, and I can actually afford to buy them.
Finding a quality protein bar that isn’t loaded with sugar and fillers has been way harder than I expected! I’ve mostly stuck to whole foods like steak and eggs, but having a good protein bar for convenience would be ideal. In the meantime, I’ve been supporting my protein intake with a few key supplements I found in a book called Secret Supplements that turn you into a Superhuman. Collagen has been a fantastic addition-it’s helped with muscle recovery and keeps me fueled.
What about two mcdoubles 40g protein toss half the buns or all the buns? Chances are it and the bars are similar price? To be clear, the bars or this hack are emergency protein sources, not meal plans
Best natural ‘protein’ bar I’ve found if from UK is the baked peanut or cocoa/ hazelnut ones. Half the amount of protein than your average bar however does the job and not ultra processed
I'm a very picky eater when it comes to foods I like and don't like, but I don't mind bland foods and things like protein bars. I've settled on Kirkland Signature's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bars. I have one of those, along with a Premier Protein vanilla shake every morning for my quick breakfast before I leave for work. Probably wholly unnecessary, but it's healthy adjacent for a quick breakfast option.
So do I! Found an Atkins Coffee Protein that I pair with the Kirkland Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough instead of the Premier Protein shake. Quick and easy.

I’m glad to see Musashi bar in the review, I prefer the 20g of protein versions of those bar for the exact reasons you state (I don’t need a jaw workout to eat a bar!) the rocky road is the best! Another Australian company putting out awesome bars is Bsc, I just had one of their new cookie dough low carb, high protein bar and oh my god you could easily give it someone blind folded and they would think it’s a normal chocolate bar! Their latest range of “soft” bars are so good but most are just 16g protein, however this new one has 19.2g
I haven’t had the cookie dough bar yet, but the bsc cookies and cream one is the best tasting protein bar I’ve had. Better than pretty much any normal chocolate bar. Whenever they’re on sale i buy a shit ton, woolies occasionally has them for 2.25
I mean it is kind of unfair to point out that the bar doesn't look like what its pictured as, literally every other protein bar does the same thing. For the Musashi bar you say the brownie "looks so appealing" and yet it does not look like that on the inside, same with the built bar and the gorilla bar. A lot of bars use this advertising like anabar, quest, think, etc. Bias does play a little role in this video but it is understandable after how much Gregg pokes fun at Dr. Mike. Conclusion: silly internet beef
Last episode of this I was sad he didn’t try mre because it’s my #1 go to (specifically pb&j flavor and pb cup is my #2) and now my life is complete Dr Mike rated my favorite bar #1

Greetings from Germany where practically everybody hates the "Seitenbacher" commercials bc they're incredibly annoying! I get in a bad mood just seeing that logo jeez.
It's a scientific fact that the best protein bar is a Kirkland brand chocolate chip cookie dough bar, placed on a paper plate sprayed with a bit of non stick spray, microwaved for 15-30 seconds depending on the strength of the microwave. It's basically a fresh baked cookie. I will die on this hill
Dude I HATE chocolate peanut butter protein products, but Kirkland’s chocolate peanut butter protein bar is so god damn delicious that I can’t buy them on a cut. One of the best bars I’ve ever had

The subtle hint of eurotrash techno music that started in the background at 3:15 was a nice touch 😂
In the UK, Oreo Grenade bars absolutely slap 🔥
That’s cause y’all eat beans on toast
White Peanut is the best grenade bar.
Salted caramel grenade bars are my obsession right now
Personally I find them vile, only the White chocolate peanut was nice.
@@Ubiquitous1984yup. I had to stop buying them. I was blowing through 3 boxes a week. 😂
Shout to whoever edited that BOMB intro. So good !
Thank you so much for the quick and easy time stamps in the description ❤
Love this lighthearted content for today. Just what I needed.
Ps. Out of all the protein bars that I have had personally the premier protein chocolate deluxe is my favorite chocolate flavored protein bar. And the met-rx apple pie is the best all-around meal replacement protein bar that I have had. It's my go to breakfast on the go bar.
The apple pie one is good HOWEVER, I recently tried the blueberry crumble and its even better.
@@fungiferous404 I have to try that because I just tried the apple pie a week or so ago and absolutely love it.
@@warpticon 100%. I loved the apple pie one but saw the blueberry crumble next to it this week. Looked good, got some, amazed. Love it more than the apple
Was really hoping to see "Quest" bar. That's my go to
I like it too, but personally I view it as more of a fiber bar because the protein is so low comparatively to the majority of protein bars
@TyaColo yup-- the fiber is a huge part-- but it's also 21g of protein for very little added crap. It's fantastic for lean cut while still giving a nice dose of protein.
You can easily double up in one sitting if need be too
Read up on the ingredients in Quest bars, specifically the contents of the "fiber". They're garbage.
One cool way I found to enjoy it is to heat up in the microwave for 30 seconds. The bar becomes soft like pastry, but it can cool down quickly and becomes hard again
Might be in the first protein bar review
Grenade regular Oreo bar has to be my favorite protein bar of all time. Absolute GOAT 🐐 🙌
🤛🏾hell yeah
One of the few I can eat regularly. Most taste just.. they have this awful chemically aftertaste.
@MikaMikaMika89 i personally dont mind it that much, but when its NOT there.... oh man
I took up your recommendation and tired the MRE bar just now. I got the Choclate oatmeal one. It was pretty good for a protein bar. Surprisingly good actually. I’m at work and was tired and hungry. It hit the spot for a quick fix on my break. Thank you!
P.S. great video. Keep up the good work!
Lenny and Larry's Cookified Big Bar are my new go-to. 24g of protein
I quite like the Kirkland protein bars. There simple cheap and taste good. There peanut butter granola bar is the GOAT
salted caramel comes from France (specifically from Britain, where salted butter is popular, so they basically made salted caramels with it)
so yes maybe it is only recently popular for big brands, but in France this taste is known for a long time
so is it from France or Britain?
@@hooktraining3966 I'm guessing that the Brittany region of France was a victim of notocorrect.
I ike the way Mike's head moves when he chews
I would recommend Amway's protein bars (the thick ones, not the thin ones). The macros are absolutely immaculate and taste is quite alright!
Best two bars ever. Rocknroll Labrada bar and the Oh Yeah bar. Both gone but greatly missed.
That opening montage editing though 🤌
You should do an overall ranking comparing the top couple bars from every episode
If flavor is important to you, Barbells brand is the best protein bar hands down. It's not perfect, but it's 20g protein, 200-210 cals, and available in actually good flavors.
It’s actually Barebell not barbell but they are great
You’ve probably tried them before, but my favorite are the Costco, Kirkland brand, peanut butter protein bars. Decent macros, low calories, and I can actually afford to buy them.
1st Phorm bars are Goated for me , on the expensive side but I love them .
Cute shill.
Best natural ‘protein’ bar I’ve found if from UK is the baked peanut or cocoa/ hazelnut ones. Half the amount of protein than your average bar however does the job and not ultra processed
@@PointIessAccount he even capitalised 'superhuman' 🤡
Legion products are amazing
Microwave the Kirkland bar for like 15-30 seconds on a plate sprayed with non stick spray. It'll change your life
@@JeffroJames I heard that trick a few years ago, and the genius that I am absentmindedly threw it in the microwave wrapper and all. Startled the shit out of me when it started sparking and crackling. Sometimes I am not a smart man.
@@dlmckenzhaha even if the wrapper wasn't metal it'd probably have exploded from the pressure. I'm also very dumb
Barebells protein bars are my fave, I got the variety box from Amazon
They taste terrible
Love barbells chocolate dough!
I’m a fan of Salted caramel Grenade bars. The Oreos ones are my second favourite. (Equally between white and classic).
You gotta try the non collagen Built bars! They are amazing!
Thank you Greg
Is the shirt intended for election day?
Probably 😂
Doubtfully, they probably recorded this in the spring. They usually batch record videos way in advance.
Kirkland signature bars. Fantastic
They taste good enough (i buy the cookies and cream / chocolate peanut butter chunk combo boxes) and have excellent macros at a very good price. This (cookies and cream is the "champion") needs to be in a part 3 of this series.
@ I get the combo box that I think is chocolate brownie and cookie dough and those are both great
@@WoTMike1989 I like the taste of the other box's contents, but I favor the higher protein and lower calories of the box I buy (though I notice that your box is still 19.99 and mine is now 21.49)
@ at my costco they only have the one but does tour box have more than 20g of protein?
@@WoTMike1989 yes, the cookies and cream has 22 g for 170 Cal and the chocolate peanut butter chunk has 21 g for 180 Cal
My favorite protein bar, ranked not only for macros but ingredients also, no joke-the Kirkland protein bars. Cookie dough and brownie flavors
Bsc's protein shake is garbage
@@ahmadbelial9778 agreed. I only tried the violet crumble as well and even that wasn’t great. I’ll stick with Musashi High Protein Chocolate.
I haven’t had the cookie dough bar yet, but the bsc cookies and cream one is the best tasting protein bar I’ve had. Better than pretty much any normal chocolate bar. Whenever they’re on sale i buy a shit ton, woolies occasionally has them for 2.25
Great video Dr Mike. Do protein shakes next. Be a pain in the ass but fun
Barebell is my fav ultra processed slop bar.
My top 10 priority list for any food I eat is simple. Essential nutrients take the top 9 spots with maybe taste coming in at number 10.
The Costco Kirkland Signature Bars!!! Such good value.
Bro even chews with full ROM
Greg's bar got demoted because the package did he even look at all the other bars lol they did the same thing
Please review Barbells protein bars .
they did in the first one
Last episode of this I was sad he didn’t try mre because it’s my #1 go to (specifically pb&j flavor and pb cup is my #2) and now my life is complete Dr Mike rated my favorite bar #1
I recently tried Barbells and they're amazing. Not the best macros (16 protein, 9 sugar, 22 carb) but they seriously taste like candy bars making me look forward to having one. 2nd favorite is Zone, only 10 protein but they are small and also tasty.
1:43 hardest protein bar montage
Greetings from Germany where practically everybody hates the "Seitenbacher" commercials bc they're incredibly annoying! I get in a bad mood just seeing that logo jeez.
Du schaust noch Fernsehen? Und dann noch die Werbungen? 😮
@@HappytreeLuis Haha, nee, aber das hat sich mental eingebrannt 🥲

Guys all respect - YOU ALL WRONG.
i give you the humble LIDL protein bar
168calories
4.9f 11c 22.5 protein.
£2.80 for 3 of them.
The stracciatella one is great. It's not the tastiest ever, but it's actually really solid and the price and macros make it a total no brainer.
@ just get the chocolate one! I don’t like that either. I just pick the chocolate ones, or the yogurt one. Best protein bar.
@ nah. The Stracciatella one is legit better. Still chocolaty, but some texture and crunch in there.
Sell them online and ship to the US?
@@mikewatson3718 what wait there is no lidl over there????? What???
The David protein bar from the RX bar guy is insanely good
Grenade bars are king over here in the UK. Peanut nutter and dark chocolate raspberry are my go-to flavours.
Also, killer t-shirt, I want one.
If I'm doin all that work for something to taste like a cookie I'll just opt for the cookie and eat the bar like a normal person lmfao
@@Icegrip12microwaving something for 30 seconds is a lot of work for you?
Dude I HATE chocolate peanut butter protein products, but Kirkland’s chocolate peanut butter protein bar is so god damn delicious that I can’t buy them on a cut. One of the best bars I’ve ever had
Whatever they use as a sweetener has a floral taste to it. Also, you have to get it 50/50 in boxes with the brownie, and that takes points off
What does a minoxidil hair product has to do with protein bar, except for my male pattern baldness, but you woldnt know anything about that
Some of these are like 50% collagen, for example the Musashi one
Where do you find this info/breakdown on the bars?
Ingredients > Taste
Coach Greg and Dr Mike is perfection
Best entertainment
Love both of y'all
I love Macros more than I love Myself, so I'll be checking out Musashi, thanks for the review!
Mike is such a liar about Greg’s bar. He’s like a politician who discredits themselves again and again instead of just talking the issues. If Mike never did “political style” attacks about people, he would be respected by everybody. Instead it’s making people think he’s a biased liar. Even though he is brilliant. Cognitive bias due to an emotional reaction is real.
Who’s balls are in your mouth
Gatorade bar is my go to. I have one every day for lunch with my 3 packs of tuna.
Thanks for the videos! I'd love to see Mike review Lenny and Larry bars (Very different macros from their cookies) and Nugo bars. Jimmy bars have a variety of macros across their flavors that he would probably find frustrating.
This is Scott's the Video Guy's iconic protein bar blockbuster hit movie of legend.
Video idea: bars/candy that isnt "fitness" labeled, but somehow has great macros.
