I have wisteria that's popping up everywhere. I am following your plant's progression. It's so nice to have a pond too. 🥰

Thank for the tree form Wisteria.
I have one i need to plant...maybe today.
I want it to grow like a tree instead of a vine.
I was amazed you made this video today.
I guess it a sign to get mines into the ground.🌳

Thank you for this! I saw a post on Facebook where someone had a gorgeous little wisteria tree! He didn't answer anyone's questions on how he'd done it! Can't wait to try 🥰

could you not have just weaved the 3 stems together?

@@071Tom you could. I was going for one larger base which has already started filling out. Lots of ways to go with it!

Yes, braiding or twisting counterclockwise that is how it is usually done. That is how I trained mine. You get a very thick and sturdy trunk really fast.

You better be mighty careful how yoou give this stranngler vine any free dom!! The roots will make their way through the soil and take overanytbhing you let it!

Liked the video. I wonder if I could do this with a butterfly bush?

@crewsvilleadventures If I can find a good spot I plan to try it out with a dark knight one I think. I like the colors of the blooms or Miss Molly.

What would you suggest to train a well-established wisteria to put all its energy into extending its furthest reach out along a cable it's been growing along? It keeps sending out side branches rather than pushing the leader, even though I've trimmed all the possible "detours" for growth. Should I snip a few inches off the leading edge? Thanks!

@@thejoyofsoxmovie7211 I’m not as familiar with an established wisteria. Maybe a snip could encourage some new growth?

Can I trim the runners growing in every direction off this late in the season? July 3rd today. I planted last spring and didn’t get any blooms this years. Is too young to bloom or did I do something wrong. It was sold as a tree, so I didn’t know I was supposed to train it. I have one large limb growing sideways leaning down. I did stake the tree.

@@TexasBluebonnets22 I would still trim it if it were mine. I keep the crazy growing limbs trimmed as needed.

Wisterias, if grown from seed, will bloom in around 10 years.

I have seen them with two main twisting vines before also. You could definitely go that route.

I got the post and petunias at Lowe’s and the Wisteria at a garden center in Augusta, GA. The mulch also came from Lowe’s.

So if you want a "shorter" tree you do all that but a bit lower right?
