Kind of sucks that my other videos from just a month ago are outdated now due to minings changes, but check out my how to break 70k rocks video solo. Lol I had a lot of fun making that one and got the vibe pretty spot on in that one.
i use two hostede IIs both with foxus III and Reiger C3 and then 1 Impact II with FTLR and Focus III i have a firend and we always mine together in my mole. havent found anything over 38k mass yet. the two hofsteads with a sabir to reduce the resistance was enough to crack it safely.
im glad that works for you and your buddy. I personally wouldn't be running that in 3.20 or 3.21 due to how violent that feels. i have found more than 3 38k mass rocks in a hour or two mining session and i mine on the planets with the lightest common materials. I also do them by myself. If i had a duo setup one laser would be power one would be support, idk what i would choose for power between helix or impact but i know i would put an arbor with 2 focus or a torrent and a focus module on for the support.
Also. If it isn't broke... don't fix it. If you have a buddy and you two mine together all the time and are synced up and things are going good. Keep doing that.
@@Elguapoe yeah we tried helix II and it's just too much for rocks under 30k mass. Far too unstable as well. We can do the two hofst3de if we need more power through reduction of resistance and a slightly larger optimal but if there isn't too much resistance then we do a hot and impact. I mostly use the impact to scoop as it can't finess for the 2nd breaks. I was trying to find my arbor IIs to try them out instead of the 2nd hof or the impact. Just to mess around. We made a nice 2mil after cost of refine and 3 boremax used so we was pretty happy for the missing session we had. Like we had 1 load of gold that was 300k and then a tarnish and gold load that was 384k and then a Laramie and Taranite load that was 335k and then some 200k+ loads of gold and Lara. It was really good for us.
@@Elguapoe I'd honestly impact II has felt like enough power with an optimax or boremax dropping that resistance or wrestling the instability. On the 1 big rock at 48k we found of gold we did kinda use the instability to our favor to get the energy to go up and then we finessed it to crack, that was a nice big haul there. Can say mining feels a lot more interesting and thoughtful and each rock is something to pay attention to instead of throw a ton of power and drop the resistance.
The impact is far superior for what you want to use it for. If the impact is giving too much power I pull back a little. The trade off from 3 to 2 module slots just isn't worth it. The helix is made for big rocks and is harder to use for such reasons. If you aren't using active modules you aren't trying to break big rocks and it's hard to believe you haven't found larger rocks than 38k. Which is a rock a solo miner can break in the mole. It seems like you guys just like chilling around, but for solo mole mining the hof doesn't really have a place. It isn't good for the sub breaks a lot of times compared to the arbor even with the big window , and it isn't good by itself for mid sized rocks 25k. If you were saying this back in 3.19 I would agree with you. But the arbor is the only laser to deal with small pure rocks with high instability, and with it's lowish power and 5% minimum and -35 instability it is the best hands down for sub breaks. The hof with 2 module slots just doesn't cut it, it's too violent and makes small rocks more difficult in comparison. If you are trying to do a really chill build where you are very safe but not going to be able to crack big rocks by yourself you can trade the helix for the hof and put on two focus modules. But... the build I added in this video is a very optimal setup for people interested in breaking anything from a 1k quant to a 45k quant no problem. But like I said before this is about being by yourself, and you shouldn't be using a fltr module for any reason. That is a waste of a module slot.
This is awesome. On the discord i raised a question on sticks with scroll wheels for laser intensity control and you mentioned it in this video... straight value every video man.

Ive been struggling mining lately especially while learning the mole for the first time, knowing what I can and cannot crack. Had no idea I had to move the laser now. Was struggling with 28k rocks with stampede and surge.
Not going to lie...this is a tough time for you to dive in and learn mining, but you can do it. The most important part of this process is learning which laser and power level the rocks need. It's simpler than it sounds. Watch my most recent video for another breakdown on that exact aspect.
Yes and it is simplish. But instability also plays a role, resistance changes with laser and surge, then you have the off hance the server is just messed up and isn't working correctly. Then I'm sure there are hidden factors that make it more complex that we can't see even in the datamined apps. Such as moving the laser gaining charge faster than a steady laser. Does it increase the instability? Also we know there is a cap to max power v distance, what is it? It is more complex than you think
@@ElguapoeSorry I didn't mean to imply the whole system wasn't complex, just that there should be a simple equation you can use as an entry point to answer the question "Do I even have a CHANCE of breaking this rock" without having to swap to the mining seat only to find out you don't.
@JohnVanderbeck I detailed the simplest way in the next video 😂 we also have a calculator in our Google sheet. I suggest you join the discord. Check on my page and every video description for that. Hope to see you there.

Honestly I LIKE the idea that trying to just always 100% max power a rock causes more instability, and that keeping power levels more reasonable would cause less. If it actually works like that, or if that is their goal, then I'm 100% behind it.
No what causes more instability is mismatching power to a rock. 100% a rock all the time isn't a problem if you are using the right laser for the job. That's why I choose what I choose for my loadouts.
Did they fix the sales terminals where you get the transaction failed cost mismatch error? I love the mining loop, but quit after I got that error and it took all of my cargo.
So from my understanding there were a few big problems going on. I saw that in one of the bug fixes, that was solved but idk if that was coming to 3.21 and not here yet. But a few people in our Cults discord have had no problems since the last patch selling their orders.
its so easy to forget when making your video....I had to make that part after almost being complete hahaha. when you are experienced and spend a LOT of time mining, those issues fly over your head, because you just....know what to do lol. It's not easy. It can be seriously challenging on your psyche and will test your patience and determination. But damn it's fun. Compared to how mining used to be....this is a whole new game loop. Do it. Now
I know there was a bug before where he rieger 3s were only giving a 15% boost rather than 25%? and the meta was to use c2s only not sure if this is resolved now - saw you were using the c3s so i guess the master would only use the best
There used to be for sure that's why in my build videos from last patch I never recommended the c3's I tested it and seemed like it wasn't just a visual bug from what I can tell now. They do feel like they are strong. So I seriously think they are fixed. But until I test it more I can't be sure. But with how much I mine, and how many times I used the c2 this feels right.

@lunamaria1048 let me give expand your mind for a second and get more excited for the future of SC. Sure, Stanton has been hit by a shlt storm of bugs and rushed decisions by the king Jabroni himself...but before 3.19 all we did really was fly to lyria, ping for a cluster, if we saw a cluster with multiple rocks...it was quant and we mined it. It was very easy, the big rocks had like a 8k-9k mass if I remember correctly. They have totally overhauled it since then and added so many layers to the complexity, not just in information and knowledge playing a role, but with how you have to actually mine. 3.30 was a rushed turd they pushed out in reference to mining and yet I can see exactly what it will be soon once they polish it.... higher skill ceiling and more dangerous. To me, mining has come a long way, my channel isn't necessarily only about mining, I have done pretty much everything in SC over the years, just with 3.19 changing the game, and mining being my favorite thing to do to make money. It seemed like a no brainier when I saw so many people having issues. And guess what.... mining just keeps getting better and better. I am excited for the future when they smooth it out a bit. It has been a blast even with all the game breaking bugs.

I love how unnecessarily dramatic this is, you guys all DEFINITELY wear aviators and leather jackets haha Blowing up rocks is serious, dangerous business, I get it now.
i switched all mine up once they gave us the hud back. personally i go to the ping section of the keybinds, and i put ping on tab, increase ping angle and decrease ping angle with scroll wheel. It could be automatically set to be on period and comma like back in the day.
@@Elguapoe but you still have ping angle as a key bind? And it works?? Under flight radar I only have activate ping. Under scanning I have the scan angle increase and decrease. Thanks for your vids you have gotten me back into mining as a result!
Great content man! I've been mining for some time now and I kinda like the changes. Would you agree or do you miss the easier way where quanta was too easy to get. Liked and subbed man! Let's grow this channel guys so he can buy a new mic. Cheers
appreciate you checking my stuff out. No 3.19 was amazing, best thing to happen to mining. It has a skill ceiling now, its fun now, we dont just hunt quant now. Excellent. The new changes, are ass.... I love the idea of making things become more difficult but not when its all partially broken and you have to work with it.... I think now, people just need to be careful and they can have a good mining experience with good mole loadouts and setups. Seriously, thanks for checking out my stuff!
So. You can mine Aaron's halo no problem, but there is always the chance you hit an invisible asteroid, and instead of like surface mining, you run into a much more mixed bag when it comes to the rocks you find. The Halo has less clusters and will make you less money but when it comes to potential PVP it is safer. That's if you get lucky and don't hit an invisible asteroid
They have. Like I said there is a skill gap now. All I can do is offer you my advice if you still love mining. Go out with the easiest kit imaginable. Put a focus modules on everything and take things easy. I'm still doing 30 minute speed runs no problem, I'm putting myself under the stress because I enjoy that, but there is still something to be gained for people that just want to chill out and mine. You just have to build around and plan around that mindset. Get the arbor 2 with 2 focus modules , use that for the small rocks, use the impact with a reiger and 2 focus modules for the mid size rocks, maybe the hof instead of the helix and again put on 2 focus modules. Take it slow.
Thanks man! Just want people to be on the same page and not try...or play a game loop because of the bugs or because of new changes that are never truly explained. Really appreciate your view.
Lol that's rough man.... I know another person that has the same problem but only with lifeline and Brandt modules. Not with stampede or surge. Idk what to tell you though besides the basic advice cig probably recommends

Step 3 - Survive
Thats how you mine
you steal me in a dream....you better wake up and apologize.
I love how unnecessarily dramatic this is, you guys all DEFINITELY wear aviators and leather jackets haha Blowing up rocks is serious, dangerous business, I get it now.
I don't know why you would think that 😂 check out my other stuff hahaha
My keybinds don't show increase ping angle like you have. Did they change that?
i switched all mine up once they gave us the hud back. personally i go to the ping section of the keybinds, and i put ping on tab, increase ping angle and decrease ping angle with scroll wheel.
Valeu!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Subbed bc Elguapoe told me to. And you don’t say no to Elguapoe.
Wise words. Could be the most inspirational quote of this century. I might have to add it to my graphical autobiography.
Another banger from the man himself💪🇺🇸🔥
Coming in hot!
Ok but what about prospector mining?
Well isn't this something...... Go watch my newest video now. You are welcome.
Funny you said that i actually did and am following the build lol thanks man! nice to see someone reply to their comments as well :)
Yea I try my best to. If you want to get a hold of me faster, our discord is best. That link should be in all my video descriptions.
Btw...you should have heard the last mic. 😂 this is studio quality in comparison
so can you mine out in asteroids any more? Every single video i see is planet mining which I assume you are just bait for pirates on planets :(
Putting other SC content creators to shame. Another great video man.
I came to throw down! Thanks for watching again slick.
do a salvage guide pls
Viva Elguapoe!
Glad to be back.
I'll be honest, they over complicated this so I no longer mine at all. Think I'll melt the mole later this year.
Way to make mining inspirational!
Thanks man! Just want people to be on the same page and not try...or play a game loop because of the bugs or because of new changes that are never truly explained. Really appreciate your view.
mods make me crash
Lol that's rough man.... I know another person that has the same problem but only with lifeline and Brandt modules. Not with stampede or surge. Idk what to tell you though besides the basic advice cig probably recommends
gold contend lmao
