We proclaim the Gospel, but first, we dig up the soil of the heart before we plant the good seed. We do that by helping people to see for themselves how they have sinned by showing them what sin is. There's nothing worse than telling a person they are a sinner when they don't believe they've done that much wrong. There are plenty of good, moral people in the world who will die in their sins without repenting and trusting Jesus for salvation. That's why we take the time to show them how much they've sinned first before we share the awesome Good News of Jesus. It's really amazing, so many people, some who've gone to church for years, thank us when their eyes have been opened and they finally understand the Cross of Christ and why He needed to die in order to save them. We then encourage them to believe that Jesus died for them, repent about sin, receive Him by faith, join with other believers, read God's Word daily and get baptised as soon as possible. Then we invite them to join a Discipleship / Growth group. Teaching them the basics and getting the active in sharing the same good news before they get too bogged down in churchy activity.

From my experience and understanding of scripture we preach or share the Gospel of the Kingdom and the Message of redemption by grace through faith in Christ's ransom sacrifice to move the hearer of the Gospel to first repentance, then baptism, and then a personal conviction to continue learning and maturing in the whole truth of God's word by which all of us are ultimately sanctified (Matthew 4:17; 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 10:8-15; John 17:17). This is going to vary from person to person, but there is absolutely nothing wrong for a person with only rudimentary knowldge of the Gospel that repents and publically declares he/she believes that Jesus died so they can be forgiven of their sins to immediately be baptized. From there they will have the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit to continue to grow in Christ.

How about the thief on the cross . What did Jesus tell the thief on the cross who did nothing to deserve to go to heaven . The thief said remember me Jesus . Jesus said today you shall be with me in paradise . Salvation cant be bought or earned or worked for it is purley a gift given to us by Gods grace thru his son Jesus Christ . The Bible says all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved and that road runs only thru accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior . Again one way John 14: 6 and that is Jesus case closed . If you think you can get their without accepting Jesus go ahead the bible says all whos names arent recorded in the lambs book of life as having accepted Jesus will be cast into the lake of fire in revelation . I prayed the sinners prayer and accepted Jesus along time ago and i was baptised . Baptism is just a symbol of burying the old life and coming into the new and Jesus was baptised and though someone such as the thief on the cross can be saved without being baptised . However Jesus commanded us to be baptised . Have i fallen even after acceptin Jesus long ago yes but i repented and try not to walk in sin but im forgiven and covered by the blood of Jesus . If you can loose your salvation then that means its based on works and not grace . You cant loose it i personally believe the Bible and i accepted Jesus as my personal savior luckily for all of us its not based on what we did but only on the shed blood of Jesus at calvary and Gods grace thats what i believe !!! John 14:6

777 BLUE, if you think they were talking about doing something to "deserve" to go to heaven, then you missed the whole point. The fruit is the evidence, not the cause.

We are not saved by good works but the Word tells us we are saved by His Grace unto good works, so fruit of the Spirit is certainly expected. As for the thief, JESUS heard his confession of sin and his repentance and JESUS sees what is in the heart, not just the spoken words, so JESUS is telling us the thief was redeemed. Confession of sin means agreeing, and continuing to agree, with GOD as to what those sins are and continued trust in JESUS-YESHUA. Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will be redeemed. Don’t forget about those who end up at the Great White Throne judgement and JESUS tells them to depart “I never knew you”…how many of those prayed the Sinner’s prayer?

salvation does not require repentance, it requires to believe the gospel as written in the book of john..85 times john say to believe. its a simple decision to just say yes you believe. thats it that simple gospel. theres no need for a so called sinners prayer plus theres not one in the bible anyway...these guys make salvation hard and it as easy as opening a door.

promaster, I hope you've informed Jesus about how "easy" salvation is. Apparently He didn't get it:
"For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." (Matthew 7:14)
"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" (Mathew 16:24)
      etc.
Also, repentance and belief are two sides of the same coin. You can't have one without the other.

repentance is the fruit of true faith

Without repentance there is no salvation. Luke 3:8-14 Read the whole context. John the baptist calls them to bear fruit in keeping with repentance. Repentance shows you have true saving faith, that you truly believe and have been converted. There has to be evidence of saving faith. You espouse say believism. Do you even understand what the word believe in the context of salvation actually means? The demons even believe Jesus is God, and we know they aren't going to heaven . Believe means to trust fully in what Jesus did on the cross. If you truly believe, you will repent, change your mind and follow Him instead of your own ways. Someone who continues down their own path in life, in the opposite direction of God has not repented and has not been saved. Repentance is not a work, but a response to the gospel. Therefore repent and return so that sins may be wiped away. Acts 3:19. Luke 17:3-4, Revelation 2:5, 3:3-19, 2 Corinthians 12;21, Matthew 21:32, Hebrews 12:17, Matthew 4:17, If you don not turn from sin as a way of life, which is what repentance is a change of mind and a change of actions, you show that you truly have not been saved.

The gospel is more simple than this. What did Paul tell the Jailer? Repent? Nope, he said BELIEVE and you shall be saved. What is the Gospel in 15 Cor 1-4? Believe in the Lord Jesus Chris, no repentance is there. Who is the Apostle to the Gentiles? Paul. REPENT is for the Jews and Kingdom theology, Christ did not come but for the lost sheep of Israel, they had to repent and change their mind. Will repentence come for us? Yes, but after we believe! We come to Christ as sinners with all of our sins and believe on him. Then he slowly works repentence in us and forms us into his image. Take the fonicator in 1st Corinthians. Now this was Pauls church, can you imagine attending a church that Paul started and ministered in, how awesome would that be to have him to ask questions to? Yet this church was full of fornication, anger, wrath, ect. Didnt these people know to repent before they were saved? Looks like to me they came in their sins! and some felt comfortable enough to stay in them! This was Pauls church, Paul taught believe in the Lord and you will be saved. They believed despite their sins. They believed so much in Gods grace that they glorified themselves still living in sin, although it is lawful for us to sin, it is not profitable since we are to recon ourselves deasd to sin and alive to God. Paul rebuked them and the fornicator and kick out the fornicator, but brought him back in 2nd Corinthians. If you have to repent before you get saved, that is a work. We are saved by grace not our repentence. In 2nd Corinthians 12 Paul warned them that they HADNT repented of the fornication and lasciviouness that they have committed. Yet he called them dearly beloved. It is really simple, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, he will do all the work for you, he who started a good work in you will complete it in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is God who works in you both to will and to do his good pleasure, chosen in him before the foundation of the world. Trust in that and you have it right.
