And Microtonic deserves it. Such an extraordinary combination of great sounding engine, creative sparking tools and interface, ease of use, stability and low footprint. Love every product of SC!
I don't even know much about this stuff and kinda stopped listening to your words after a minute, but I couldn't stop watching because of how epic the narration is with the really great voice and the beats in the background. Well done, if I ever do beats I'll buy this!

It's 2019 and i must have been using MicroTonic for 10yrs now, the Lidström brothers are true pioneers in the audio game, i dream of a hardware version but the closest i've come is with a couple of NoiseEngineering BIA's. If you don't have this you really are missing out. BUY IT NOW
Hi. I have an Arturia BeatStep Pro and I want to be able to change the parameters of each drum sound (channel) independently. The DAW is Ableton. I managed to have each BeatStep drum pad activate one channel, but when I midi learn the sliders and knobs they change the sounds of all the channels. Any help? What am I missing?
Yeah I have this since many many years and it still is one of my most loved ones. This should be baked into hardware. The pocket operator already was a nice attempt but I think of something like the DrumBrute - but flexible and good sounding :)
man, they should have this for all the PO series. On the other side of the spectrum the Waldorf Attack software should have a piece of hardware likewise.
I purchased this in 2010 and I don't understand why every electronic music producer doesn't own a copy. It's $99 !!! I own so many drum plugins and this is still my favorite - and that includes Maschine 3.
Yeah I looked into that a while back, but I don't really have the extra cash to justify spending on a converter - I'm considering switching off of Pro Tools anyways, it's not exactly the most user friendly
Would love it if Magnus would make releases for iOS. There's a very cool music community that has been emerging on that platform over the last couple of years.
Reason doesn't support VST, but can support plug-ins called "Rack Extensions" that can be developed by anyone who wants to have a crack at it! Sonic Charge have already developed "Rack Extensions" for Reason including a Reason Exclusive effect called "Echobode" and an updated version of "Bitspeak". Its a relatively new thing-check it out! shop.propellerheads.se/browse/?q=&pl=&sort=dev&view=grid
I know, right. Is it the people who just have one thing to authorize? I have 50-60. It gets old really fast. I dread the day i need to replace a harddrive or insert more memory or what not.
Oddly I only have a couple of important plugins that require an iLok. What I don't like is if it breaks (which it has done), they charge you a license restore fee plus if you're out of warranty they charge you for a new iLok. On top of that even if you're lucky as I was and are able to retrieve your licenses before your iLok dies completely AND its under warranty they still charge you for the exchange process. I'm ok with things costing money obviously. I'm NOT ok with a company that charges you for zero downtime, does not have a phone number, no way to contact anyone before opening a ticket and then is entirely inflexible with their policies. If my iLok breaks again, I will sell or stop using the plugins that require the iLok for something else. Fortunately for me. I use Digital Performer so I don't run into many iLok required plugins. I do have two Steinberg VSL keys. Not sure what their policies are. Just hope they're better.
It seems the entire "industry" is moving to the pay us money, all the time, every time, model. I'm looking at you Avid.. ._o I'm not going to advocate piracy, but why is it easier to use pirated software than honestly paid for software (or movies for that matter)? Maybe I should just quit music and pick up knitting.. :-)
@@soniccharge Thanks for the asking. I was comparing it to some of the features in the new Capt beats mixedinkey.com/captain-plugins/captain-beat/ Or the overpriced but nice Suger Bytes Sequencer - DrumComputer ua-cam.com/video/1zgdlP1DwnA/v-deo.html 1. The ability to easily drop and drag into your DAW separate Midi and Audio. 2. The Resizing ability with a newer cosmetic look. 3. Ability to use as a stand-alone or in the DAW of your choice. 4. Able to install on an optional external drive after install with a lower price point. The reason being is that many producers and writers are not making a living and music is becoming more just a hobby because of music streaming, so investing in gear is at a minimum. In my opinion $50 -$60 USD would probably be sufficient for most. Question, If this happens How long would it take to release a new version of Mecrotonic? I will wait for your reply.
@@Reggmail 1. MIDI is already drag and drop. To capture the audio, simply record the drum loop or pattern as desired into a 2,4,8, 16, etc. clip and copy as desired to length. Less than a minute in most cases. 2. Agreed, it's 2020 and ALL APPS in the planet should be using Vector Graphics with 4K monitors now, and 8K coming: #NoMoreBitmappedGraphics 3. Where you move Patternarium files to load from, will be default save location, so can be anywhere also. Not sure what drive location has to do with price point. You own it already and to me, it's a fair price for what it does. Which TODAY is much larger than many realize: Simply get a tool like Atlas or XO (both build intelligent libraries of drums from ANY one shot samples on your HD from places like Splice, Looperman (FREE), and any one shot drum libraries like LOOPMASTERS, SOUNDS, PRIMELOOPS, etc.) and will then create ENDLESS RANDOM DRUM KITS intelligently, even letting you LOCK in drum sounds, and randomize the rest until you get a new kit JUST RIGHT. Then alternatively you can LIFT DRUM SOUNDS out of any LOOP with tools like Geist 2, Regroover Pro, etc. to build KITS FROM also. This then means that since Microtonic can directly output MIDI, that Patternarium will provide an ENDLESS supply of modifiable DRUM GROOVES, sent directly into an ENDLESS SUPPLY OF DRUM KITS. Add something like JAMSTIX in to the mix, and you've got intelligent MIDI driven drum fills for a lifetime. At $99, having Patternarium behind it for ENDLESS GROOVES, and tools like Atlas or Geist2 on the receiving end makes Microtonic a STEAL of a deal. Captain Beats is a decent product, and every product can lead a person to new results. However, a tool like ATLAS lets you leverage the same drum samples as Captain Beats, but adds AI to intelligently determine what TYPE they are, and AI to randomly build endless DRUM KITS, something you have to do MANUALLY in Captain Beats. Sure, Captain Beats has a decent selection of patterns, but that doesn't mean it comes even CLOSE to what the Patternarium is offering you for FREE.
@@brianmi40thanks for the info and reply. I did see the drop and drag midi but you would still need to record the audio or record the audio from Microtronic to tracks. Standalone and resizing in 2020 is a must in most cases especially for 4k and above monitors. Standalone - you may not want to always open up a Daw when just creating beats. Although Microtonic is great, this video was created in 2012, I'm sure after 8 years it's well overdue for an overhaul and upgrade that would make it fantastic. Again thank you B miller.
THIS is how you sell a product. Extremely well-made video!

Hahaha yes!!
Goddamn, this guy's voice is so smooth and elegant. This guy can sell anything.
He does these videos for U-he and FabFilter too. Fantastic plugins, explained clearly and thoroughly by a phenomenal voice.
Never realised how in depth this program was. Thank you for your guide, it's been immensely helpful :)
Classy as hell - narration, instruction, and power of this synth. Spot on.
I agree, very well-done video! What a great sounding plug!
Brilliant intro, brilliant UI, brilliant plug!
I love this VST. Perfect for minimal sounds that users want to make 'their own' instead of using samples.

Dan, that's a fantastic demo! Thank you! uTonic has AMAZING functionality!
Thanks Dan Worrall. This demo is excellent!!!
Feature packed with good sounds & Patternarium looks fantastic.
I always find the short sustain and release settings on the end of your words with more than one syllable intriguing.
I appreciate this excellent introduction to MicroTonic. thank you. J
Well done! Just purchased this yesterday in fact!
I love this guy! Well done sir, you've made something truly special here. I'm defo getting this =D
loved that you used Reaper as the DAW
Quiet convincing. Thank you.
Brilliant video. Tempted by the DFAM at the moment, but after watching this video, I feel like MicroTonic is a better option for me.

I use MT for my bassdrum and i love it!!
Hi, great video. Can you map a roland td 11 to trigger the sounds?. It is available on mac? Thanks
Microtonic combined with the Patternarium is awesome. Simply just awesome!
This VST is so good, I have used it for years! And the patternarium is excellent! Sonic Charge is awesome. Check out Synplant too!

Wow! This looks totally genius.
you had me at 'hi' :)
Who wouldn’t love this plug in
How do you create separate channels for each sound such as bass drum and snare into the mixer? there are only channel A and B in cubase. thanks
I wonder with SYNplant2 coming out if a person might be able to create sounds with SYNplant2 and import them into microtonic?
Can you load your own one shot WAV sample kicks into this or can only use the presets provided?

Best Drum synth machine with infinite possibility and low cpu, a must have !
i instantly want to buy this
even 5 years on, this is tight
what version of microtonic did u use here?
i just got trial version of Microtonic 3. Can I use my own midi clips and place them in Microtonic?
how does he make those arpeggiators?
So does Dan have his own facebook page? I like the way he explains things.
music radar says numero uno lol. i have to humbly agree.
Heeeey, it's also the same guy who narrates some of the Camel Audio Alchemy videos! :)
wow i need this
Heeeey that's the same guy who narrates the FabFilter videos!
i need to get my hands on this
man, they should have this for all the PO series. On the other side of the spectrum the Waldorf Attack software should have a piece of hardware likewise.
There is a MicroTonic "Multi" vst that you should use. Not sure about Cubase.
dan sold this one!
is it possible to route separate sounds to separate audio channels/mixer tracks??
Yes. The standard version has two assignable stereo outputs but there is also a separate version that sends each drum to its own individual output.
do u know if the pricing is the same?
If you want your plugin to do well hire Dan to do a walkthough :)
I really wanna get the kick from the Strophile Inconsutu preset in Patternarium at the 10:05 mark... any help??
Just copy it from soniccharge.com/patternarium#/11/Strophile-Inconsutu
Magnus i love you man! Please port to Reason!!!!!
Haha, Dan Worrall is everywhere.
yeah its the guy from the fabfilter vids right?
yeah, i bet hes a wizard with fabfilter and sonic charge plugs

Dan worall 11 years ago ! :)
but can you upload your own samples in this vst?
No. Microtonic is 100% synthetic.
Magnus Lidström Ok. Eitherway it sounds like it does the job 👍
And Camel Audio videos. Dan Worral FTW!
Most famous plugin for, hardcore gabber kicks!!!
Can this be used in ableton live lite?
Yes. I haven't tried it myself but it should be possible according to Ableton Lite's specs. Download the demo from us and give it a try.
DAN WORRAAAAAAAAAAAAALL!!!!!!! :)
The only thing I am missing is this for Propellerheads Reason 6.5 as RE ;-)
Dan Worral is that you? i'm your fan xD
Where do i find this and how much does it cost?
99 USD at soniccharge.com/microtonic

How do you make those synthy sounds in the background throughout this vid

The moment you guys put out a 64 bit version of this I'm buying it

You couldn't pay me to go back to mac. Used them for 15 or so years. Say goodbye to backwards compatibility forever if you use a mac, esp. these days.
Reason doesnt support vst
If this had AAX and ILOK support, i'd recommend it strongly, but it doesn't so.. yeah..
