It’s 50 years since ABBA sang their way to Eurovision victory at Brighton Dome on 6 April 1974 and our Mayor unveiled BBC Sussex Blue Plaque to mark the event.
On a Saturday like today, in the city of Brighton, but 50 years ago, an event happened that changed the history of music forever. Four young Swedes appeared on the music scene, breaking the Anglo-American monopoly to become the largest and most influential pop band in history. Pop music wouldn't be the same without them. Thank you ABBA for your eternal legacy.
