I got this problem after SSD. I removed the SSd and put HDD in. Then wifi worked. After that i removed the HDD and put the SSD in. Now wifi works well, too.

When i fixed my wifi adapter, there are days that it works perfectly fine, but sometimes, out of nowhere, it will disconnect. And when you click the globe thingy icon, airplane mode is the only available option. Like the wifi option is gone. It just frustrates me that i have to uninstall, reinstall, and restart my laptop every time this happens >:(

I installed a pci express WiFi adapter in pc from tp link. It works good. But it disconnects randomly. I mean totally disconnected. The status led of the adapter is turned off like when i turn off wifi. I did check the power management. But once it happens there is no way to connect to network even not showing available networks. But all works normal after a reboot or new start up. Is the problem with the adapter? I bought it today from Amazon. Should I return it?

While I was checking the advanced power options to make sure they were set to maximum as you suggest, I noticed a setting above regarding the hard drive & when it shuts down due to inactivity. Mine was set at a default of turning off after 20 minutes of inactivity. I decided to change that to the "never" shut down setting as it appears that there is little difference/benefit to powering the HDD down unless one is trying to conserve & optimize battery life. I always use my laptop while it is plugged in so I chose to make that change to allow it to stay on. Is this ok or should I go back to default or a lesser amount of time? Thanks...Jennifer

none of those worked for me. I tried all those things, and still experienced sporadic disconnects about once every three hours. Here is what finally worked for me - changing the Windows Time service from Manual to Automatic. The Windows Time service maintains time synchronization. Apparently, the router that provides the WiFi has to be in perfect sync with your computer. Open services.msc, Windows Time, make sure it is set to Automatic.

This is the second time in the last 2 months my Lenovo x1Carbon Windows 10 Pro has dropped my WiFi. Last time, I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and the machine finally recognized WI-FI again. This time I started with that, but the machine would not recognize WI-FI, so I tried all of the remedies this video and MANY others offered ( 5 hours worth!,) all to no avail. I even pulled the wi-fi card out and reinstalled it. Then I remembered that the machine was doing a Windows update last night before I noticed the Wi-Fi was not working. So today I uninstalled the last update and VOILLA! Wi-Fi magically reappeared!! Thanks Windows (not!)

fixed for me too, had new fiber installed msut have switched up the dns with it, connection kept dropping

Its okay, you will not face any problems.
I also decided to change the option to never shut down the hard drive. Did it have any adverse effects? Will my pc heat up due to this?

This is the second time in the last 2 months my Lenovo x1Carbon Windows 10 Pro has dropped my WiFi. Last time, I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and the machine finally recognized WI-FI again. This time I started with that, but the machine would not recognize WI-FI, so I tried all of the remedies this video and MANY others offered ( 5 hours worth!,) all to no avail. I even pulled the wi-fi card out and reinstalled it. Then I remembered that the machine was doing a Windows update last night before I noticed the Wi-Fi was not working. So today I uninstalled the last update and VOILLA! Wi-Fi magically reappeared!! Thanks Windows (not!)
