Thank you🙏🏻💯 day one sauce since 2013 for me
"cowboy bebop and samurai champloo were in constant rotation while making this album" i see Logic is a man of culture as well
don't forget trigun!
He always was.
My faves
I was listening to battlecry from samurai champloo before I listened to this song and then they suddenly mentioned it.
Instant like
battlecry is in this track, i'm sure.
“Like Cole said if they don’t know your dreams then they can’t shoot em down but ima let the world know cause I’m too high up to hit the ground” Certified 🐐
Dat bar had me quaking frl
Read this while he said this
Too deep for the intro one of the most underated songs from him
lor he always been the goat 🐐
Went to the comment section knowing that someone beat me to 👌🏻
One of my favorite songs of all time
Hey man ☮️
I think it’s one of the best from this album. The production is top notch. You can tell how much effort logic and others put into it. Not to mention his honest, buttery flow. With the meaning and emotion seeping through his lyrics really makes this song. You know? This might be one of my favorite logic songs !
@@WyWid couldnt have said it any better myself. this is logics best album but nostalgia and personal preference makes me prefer Under pressure as of now lol but in the future , this might be #1
@@akraman7274 both pressure albums are really the same to me. Except in under pressure, you can feel the fire and hunger in his voice. Like logic was thinking , “ I’m gonna kill my competitors. I wanna be the best. And no body is gonna stop me”. Logic didn’t have this aspect, but the production and effort like I said in no pressure was great.
@@WyWid i made this reddit post the other day that shares what i think about no pressure and under pressure that i think applys for many poeple and i think its a good read www.reddit.com/r/Logic_301/comments/kuptcv/mark_my_words_when_we_get_older_and_look_back_on/

Not only did he sample J. Cole's "Too Deep for the Intro" but he also quoted a line from that song. Mad respect.
This is actually an Erykah Badu sample bro.

The same sample from Erykah Badu's song Didn't Cha Know too. Seems like he's a fan :)
Naaaaaaaaaaah
Knockin' doors down, showin' cars around
I'ma come through and show my wood pine
Knockin'-knockin' doors down, showin' cars around
I'ma-I'ma come through and show my wood pine, I'ma, I'ma come-
Knockin' doors, knockin'-knockin' doors down, down
Knockin' doors, knock-knock-knock-knock, knockin' doors down
I'ma-I'ma come through, I'ma-I'ma come down
I'ma come through, I'ma-I'ma come down (Yeah)
Verse1:
Paper chasin' on occasion
West Deer Park, that's my location
Life and death was what we was facin'
Boy, gotta get that motivation
Back in the basement
Look at my idols, I'm feelin' adjacent
Doin' the shit that I wish I was doing, I'm feelin' impatient
Throwin' parties and catching cases
That's the life, but that shit basic
I've cooked crack, I can't erase it
If I could, would not replace it
Grew up all alone
Had to teach myself to tie my laces
What's the deal?
I'ma play the field
Rattpack, we keep it real
Nothin' but love for the people that paved the way
So a brother like me, he can get it today
Antwan, Erykah and 3K
Can't forget those ain't here today
R.I.P. JD and Pimp C
Payin' respect, so don't hold it against me
Devil he callin' me, he love to tempt me
God exempt me, why you sent me here?
What I think about year to year
What I've been through these people only see through a peephole, yeah
Not a single one got an idea
So I write it down on this page
Feel like I'm 35 times my age
Look in the mirror don't know what to say
But I'm happy the man I is
Yeah, yeah
Verse2:
I said I'm happy the man I is
And I'm proud of the man I've become
I'm proud that I'm from a slum
I never got cold, I never got numb
Except from the winter time and then some
I transcend and I transform
Poetic vision in rare form
Growing up nobody there for him
I promise when I have a family I'ma be there for him
I love hip-hop
Hate a motherfucker, go kick rocks
No matter what happen I never gon' stop
Like Cole said if they don't know yo' dreams
Then they can't shoot 'em down
But I'ma let the world know
'Cause I'm too high up to hit the ground
This shit right here is like therapy, spit it verily
I ain't perfect, I got problems, I got issues like People magazine
Shoot from the hip and reload the magazine
I wish I could just go on forever, forever, ever and ever
But this rhyme
Ill as it is divine
Gon' cut short today 'cause I'm out of studio time
Only thought I was recording these horns and not no rhyme
What can I say? Inspiration hits at anytime
So I guess I'll have to conclude all my thoughts another time
Another rhyme
Another, ano- rhyme

One of my top 3 logic songs! Just love it too much
“Grew up all alone, had to teach myself to tie my laces.”
the beat blew me away as soon as i turned this track on, nothing compares to this beat and its way of making you feel like youre levitating that logics put out, other than indica badu but that track appeals to the fact that youre already high, this just hits a bit different. 1:55 is a great example of the trumpets thriving and even though this is rap youre listening to, trumpets on a beat arent unwelcome and this is a perfect iteration of it being integrated into one of logics diverse songs, i cant describe how blown away i was by not only the beat but the lyrics as well with this track as they rhyme as they flow with the trumpets, drums, guitar, etc.
I'm just guessing here but, why does it feel that Aquarius III, Soul Food II, and Man I Is kinda being arranged as a trilogy? The Roman Numbers symbolism in those titles catch my attention ahahah
Holy shit why did I just notice that, maybe if we listen to it in that order it might have a secret album like Ultra 85 or another one.
