I absolutely agree with your views Sir,& opinne that all private sector bank branches & other banks banks branches ought to come under purview of compulsory audit by CA Firms, now CA firm's panel maintained by RBI every year, should only be appointed by RBI,for fair allotment of audits, to all CA Firms in more, transperent manner.
My wishful gesture is transparency in appointment will be meanigful, since shareholders ought to appointment Auditors,(not Board members of respective banks, )strictly speaking, president of India who holds majority of such shares of Nationalised Banks can give/ delegate / power of attorneys/ to RBI or such authorities &all such legal issues ought to to be taken up by ICAI,in protecting members interests!
Why only 2 Central Auditors for private banks irrespective of the size of the banks? The RBI circular also not specified minimum number of auditors as SCA for private Banks instead, mentioned maximum number of SCA's which is illogical. Like PSU Banks private Banks also should have SCA's depending upon size of the Bank. Further, most of these private Banks are not having Statutory Branch Auditors and entire Bank audit being done by 2 SCA's. Also we can see only few auditors are enjoying SCA of private Banks and some of them having multiple Banks as SCA. There should be ceiling limit of one Bank as SCA as eligibility so that these major audits can be distributed among large firms. Hope CASANSAAR take up these issues with RBI or concerned authorities on behalf of all CA firms
Sir, want to ask .why banks do discrimination with proprietorship firm while alloting concurrent audit? Even some banks put only partnership firm in eligibility criteria. As per amendment in branch statutory audit, there is also hardship with newly registered proprietorship firm.

There is no transparency as such.. It is left to the Management discretion and how we can expect transparency!!
