Those are actually Torx security screws and can be very easily removed with the proper tool (T20 size key). I had no trouble at all with them and used them again when I re-assembled the sensor. And thank you ARC garage for your Alfa videos. I've found them a great help.
Have two questions maybe you know off hand. For cleaning the sensor you said you need a specific cleaner. Is this a electronic contact cleaner ? The second question is do you happen to know what is the DIAMETER on the MAF housing to by new silicon hoses ?
If I replace a maf sensor with a new one on my 156 TS 2.0, do I have to do anything else? Is it just a case of replacing it or do I have to reprogram the ECU?
Not sure if this applies to the diesel 1.9JTdm Alfa GT. It seems to be much more complicated involving removal of the battery, the tray it sits on and other awkward to get at parts.
Hi again sir: I got my alfa GT (1.8 TS), because of the lack of credit caused by the pandemic, in Spain (and too because my 156 jtd, of 18 years and 400.000 km, needed a repair for value of what this alfa has cost me). Only 94,000 km, installation of LPG and new tires, but already 15 years. A few days ago, the engine shown some little lags, on the march. Today, in a left turn, I was turned on for a couple of seconds the signal of witness in the "engine control" (the symbol of the motor block in orange) showing these lags of the march. It also seems to be going like as little "braking" on the go...Do you have any idea what might be happening?. I'm going to take it to the garage, but it seem the only business that works now well in my country, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to be out of a car for several days and I need it to work. Thank you very much in advance and for being there. Thank you too, for your interesting videos👍👌.
Thank you for support. It could be number of things, luckily for you the check engine light came on. Take it to a garage, hook it up to diagnostic tool, and go from there...
I really appreciate your attention for answering me. Yes, my intention is contact my garage and take it to, next week (I just hope it's not an expensive repair, the money stuff, they go very poor here, you do not know how much bad). I hope, that the switchboard, holds the fault in its memory, in order to address the repair. If there's interest, I can report the result of this. The only good thing, it may be, that I will have to work with my third alpha, a beautiful and perfect, 1981´s alfa spider. But it's not a day-to-day car. Thank you very much for responding and... ... I look forward to boarding the front turn signals and how to fix the correct operation of the "fine" displacement of the front seat, to the rear places, in this, too, good Alfa GT.
You can't open the new ones. They don't have the screws anymore they are glued or welded together now somehow. Also they put a grille at both ends. Maybe Bosch saw your video :D
i just want you to know that your channel helped me out a lot, keep making life easier for us alfa owners. :D
Thanks a lot, will do...

I got the right tool, but I figured that most people don't, thus the different screws. Thank you very much for support...
T 20 does not work. Those are not t20 torx by any means. Maybe yours were. But normaly you won't find t20 as standard.

Looking forwards to more tips..... I'm a new Alfa owner with a 166 Busso.......Thanks
Great car, thank you for support...
great engine m8
I assume undoing the clamps is for demonstrative purposes only because you can simply undo the security screws and take out the sensor for cleaning.
Hie,can you do a video on how to do a coolant flush on a AR 147 TS 1.6litre engine
Hi, I will do a video on that shortly...
@@arcgarage much appreciated

You don't have to do anything, but if you have MES, I would go through adjustment procedure...

Defintly only applies t the petrol models. The diesel MAF is a lot more involved.
Very useful as always, thankyou
No problem, thank you for support...
suscribed! 159 2.2jts owner here, keep posting ;)
Thanks, will do...
hi! ı have quest.. my car 156 1.6ts mk2 have idle vibration shaking problem.. do you have an idea? thanks.
I would have to diagnose it myself...
On my 916 spider TS I have a bigish plastic box underneath the tube where the MAF sensor is in the video. What is that? Is the sensor inside that?
Do you have the photo of it?
@@arcgarage I do, but where do I send it then?
Hi! Do you remember what size of screws should I use to replace those original MAS ones?
Hi, I don't remember...

No problem, if it keeps working rough, the fault will stay. Hit us up with a fault code if you're not able to resolve the issue...
@@arcgarage 👍👍
Everytime I reset the ecu/throttle the car feels powerfull, but after 2 or 3 days it becames less responsive again.. ideas?
Hook it up to a diagnostic tool and follow up on the parameters, it is definitely another issue present...

Hahaha, maybe...
Didn't need anywhare near that amount of cleaner. All you are trying to do is remove small particles and film, a few short squirts should do it.
Do not try this on a Bosch MAS . I pulled my sensor which is totally different than this and ruined it!!! Not for 86 Spider.
