  • This video follows I-15 North through the Las Vegas metro region, spanning between both Beltway 215 interchanges (Clark County Route 215 and I-215). Provides a partial view of the casinos along the Las Vegas Strip, and showcases the newly reconstructed North Corridor section of I-15, a $242 million dollar effort that widened the freeway from 4 to 10 lanes. The new lanes opened up on December 24, 2009.

As with all of your Vegas videos, I'm fascinated with the contrast of city and desert mixed together like it is out there. Loved the ride and the video.

Off topic, I know, but the CityCenter complex on the right at 1:33 is a complete beast. An $11 billion beast at that. Thanks for driving by that in your video! I really wanted to see what it looked like from I-15. Excellent video, man! I'm surprised they didn't make those express lanes separated from the local lanes by a barrier of some sort. Hell, even those flimsy plastic poles used on 95 in South Florida would work haha. I'm def. going to have to make a stop here next summer after seeing this

@rare12inchsingles: Yes, I remember the construction too. It was a badly needed project, though. Way too much traffic for that old 4 to 6 lane freeway. Now you can cruise thru at the speed limit, even at 5 p.m.

@VaFreeways: I'm a bit surprised that mostly everyone has been so receptive to this song, considering it's not amongst my favorite dance tunes. I just couldn't find a song that I hadn't used before, or one that simply "worked", so I pulled this out of my archived list. Glad you enjoyed my newest video!

The express lanes have been carpool lanes since 2k19, Charleston Blvd Interchange has dramatically changed in 2k19

That's pure production there, Brent. Wow, a five-vehicle accident? Would've been cool if that was caught on tape.

In CA, on small sections of I-5, I-10 and CA-60 where they converge in Los Angeles, trucks are allowed to travel on any lane as long as they merge to wherever they're going. On one section of the I-710 from the I-405 to Long Beach, they're trucks travelling on any of the six-lanes until they reach destination at the port and vice-versa.

Interstate 15 needs to be widen to a six lane freeway between Primm Nevada and Barstow California since the current four lane freeway gets congested on holiday weekends. The section between Primm and Barstow also needs a center median to separate traffic but I would not advise using California state route 127 to avoid traffic on interstate 15.

@CosmoPhotography: Whoa, I didn't realize that thing cost a whopping 11 billion. You could certainly do a *lot* with 11 billion dollars (I'd buy out the 49ers, and turn them into a Super Bowl-contending champion).

@Kyukanbun: It depends on the individual state. Some states (such as California) have restrictions on left-lane usage, while other states allow unlimited access to the left lanes, unless signs indicate otherwise. In the case of California, when 3 or more lanes are available, trucks are limited to the right 2 lanes, except where signs give the O.K. to use the left lane (s). In the state of Nevada, trucks are usually allowed to use the left lanes at all times.

@FreewayAndrew: Thanks, man. I actually have the original footage of the aftermath of that accident on video (but no footage of the actual accident happening live, like you were implying), but I didn't wanna bother with having my viewers sit through 30 seconds (sped up 4.25x) of bumper to bumper traffic.
It took me about 6 hours to edit this video; not too bad. Thanks for watching. :)

@rockersk08: Yooooo. I'm pretty sure it was the US 95 video that you watched. Unless you're thinking about my old, low-quality webcam video that I released last year (which I took down, once I purchased my HD camcorder). It's probably a good thing you never did make it up to the northside of I-15, as traffic thru there was *brutal* during construction. Glad you enjoyed this newest release of mine. :)

@FreewayBrent Like your road videos, especially I-15 through Las Vegas. Do a video of I-15 southbound from Mesquite, NV to Las Vegas, leaving Mesquite at sunset, driving south on I-15 when night falls in open desert. Then when you get about 18-20 miles from Las Vegas, you go over a hill and boom, the entire Las Vegas lights of it's skyline pops up before your eyes. It is spectacular! Next time when you go there, make the video. Nothing like it in the world.

@ScorpioBornIn69: Ahhh yes, that's actually on my (very very long list) of roads to record, but I may not be getting back out there for a long time, as I'll be pretty busy with school this upcoming Winter and Fall quarters.

@FreewayBrent I have been to Las Vegas seven times, most recent was 2007. That is a city that has changed rapidly in such a short time. The part 1:25 - 1:37 I see new high rises, weren't there three years ago. Are these the new hotels where the Stardust and Frontier were? I see one called the Vdara. Is that a new hotel/casino or just condos?

  • @FreewayBrent
    @FreewayBrent  14 років тому

@ScorpioBornIn69: I think the Vdara is a casino? Actually, I really don't know. I'm pretty sure it's part of the City Center, one of the most expensive urban developments in US history. You actually might want to ask UA-cam member CosmoPhotography, as he's the one that tipped me off to the whole thing.

    • @MasonIcyFrog

Ah, I see now. I looked at Google Maps and the actual downtown area is NW of I-15. I-15 just passes by the casino strip and the outer suburbs
