I’ve always been an OTT swinger, and I mean VERY OTT, and while I had times when I hit the ball well, I was always super inconsistent until I watched your vids teaching the inside takeaway. I took it to the range and was amazed I'd never hit the ball so well.
The backswing is a big key! Big!!!
I 2nd that, the inside take away is the key
You've got to ' believe ' in it.
These guys swings were definitely home made, but they were so grooved, it just repeated......love that era
yeh, everything looks so sterile today.
My only concern with your terminology of "Over the top" is they stay under or get back on plain. My concern is a cliche "take two aspirin not the whole bottle".
That said been two years since I picked up a club. Looking forward to making a plan, and see what I can apply to my swing from your site.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and knowledge.
Take it back inside and take it from there!
I've always fought the tendency to take the club back too far inside, but it's what feels most natural. What I sometimes get right is then getting my hands high enough at the top before starting down. I typically hit a baby draw, but sometimes when I'm swinging poorly, I start trying to play a fade, which helps me get my hands higher and gets my swing path more neutral.
See if you can get some footage from today masters 18th hole Jordan Spieth when he takes his practice swing he does a classic OTT move looks like he’s trying to get more on top of the bomb and ends up hitting it left but when he made his practice wing all I could think of is what you’ve been saying the last few months
Oh, if you’re not on top of it you can pull the heck out of it!
Fuzzy Zoeller--a true original all-around! Stood open, but drew it, all because he hit off the heel. He's someone I imagine truly found his swing when he was learning how to play.
He figured it out!
@@MiracleSwingExperience A local PGA Pro teacher in New Albany, In taught Fuzzy his swing fundamentals in the early to mid 60's.
Fried chicken and collared greens
I imagine for your project during Masters week two champions to feature would be Sandy Lyle and Fred Couples. Both of them are so OTT it's too obvious to miss.
Another neat player to examine would be George Archer, the 1969 Masters Champion. To this day the tallest golfer to win a major.
Yes, I’ve looked at them all. Thanks, great suggestions.
There’s nothing even remotely over the top in Fred Couples swing. In fact it’s the opposite of this nonsense ‘inside OTT’ subject. Freddy takes it back steep and drops it way under his backswing arc to come from the inside. Backswings are all over the map on the pga. You either come from the inside or you don’t on the downswing.
Another gem.
Thanks my friend.
Pretty crazy his hands start at his knee caps. Wonder if he liked his clubs shorter?
I've looked all over the internet for his specs but....nothing.
Is there any chipping or pitching instruction using the miracle swing on MSE TV?
There's isn't an application of the the Miracle motion for chipping that I'm aware of. I do some chipping in the Plan of Attack episodes. I need to finish episode 3!
Hi again from NJ Christo! You mention Fuzzy's "starter move". I've experimented with a couple over the years. Kick the right knee in.. Kick the left knee in. Forward press. Everything...but can't find one consistently I love. Do you use a specific starter move? Would love to know your thoughts!
I kick my right knee in. I wish I could do it all the time.
@@MiracleSwingExperience Thanks brother.!
As long as I don't see you trying Matthew Wolff's starter move right knee kick in!
I loved Fuzzy, and after tiger won his 1st masters he said that bonehead comment about what tiger would choose for dinner and it cost him everything,
Fuzzy disappeared
Totally agree. Fuzzy was a great player with a hall of fame caliber record, but those comments may have kept him from receiving that honor, as well maybe a Ryder Cup captain spot. It's unbelievable the consequences that can come from one small decision.
I seem to remember him holding a cocktail as he said that. He was trying to be funny but that was a big screw up. Big.
@@MiracleSwingExperience
He was trying to be funny.
He was always joking around,
Its really too bad.......
@@MiracleSwingExperience I was a year ahead of Fuzzy in High School here in New Albany, In. He was always known for being a big joker. He was not ever prejudice that way. Fuzzy was supposed to have had a private meeting with Tiger over the unfortunate situation. I never remember hearing of the results of that meeting to this day. I wish Tiger would had made a statement after a while and let Fuzzy off the hook. Yes, it was a mistake to go national TV with few drinks under the belt and put your foot in your mouth.
@@MiracleSwingExperience Yes, his favorite drink was scotch on the rocks.
I look at the path of the clubhead not the path of the hands to determine in to out or out to in. In this video you're observing the path of the hands. Even when highlighting the positions with the dots, I don't see ott in Fuzzy's swing. I like your channel and think your spot on most of the time. Not so much in this one.
The lasso move, flattening out the shaft is opposite of OTT.
Something's got to be said about his shaft lengths there. ...unless it's just the camera angles.
Major upper back hunch for Fuzzy - and, IMO, he looks a LOT like a guy that swung like Nicklaus.
Massive hunch for sure.
My old coach used to say your posture over a golf ball should be the same as a drunk guy slouched on a bar. None of this modern day straight back nonsense, should be fairly upright then curved over at the shoulders
@@ocat1979 The Hall of Fame is filled with hunchbacks.
These swings have nothing to do with the common OTT fault. I suppose you can call it “inside OTT” but it’s still very misleading. Who cares if the backswing path is inside of the downswing path? All that matters is your approach to impact which Fuzzy and the rest have nailed. THAT approach to impact is what all the fuss is about what OTT swingers have to overcome. OTT is not about comparing backswing to downswing!
All these pros are NOT swinging over the top...YOU WILL MESS UP A LOT OF GOOD GOLFERS MINDS....EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN UNIQUE SWING.
His legacy was ruined by a 1 minute racist rant at the Masters.
