ISIP II Project: Kopi Bajawa Flores - Bajawa Arabica Coffee

Swisscontact’s support the Bajawa Arabica Coffee producers through Swiss Intellectual Property Project/ ISIP II. Nesteled between the fertile slopes of the volcanoes Mt. Inerie and Mt. Ebulobo, the Ngawa district of the island of Flores is the scenic home of Bajawa Coffee that grows there on an altitude between 1200 and 1600 m, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 25c.
The producers are organized in various processing units that process the red cherries obtained from the farmers. The processing units sell the prepared green beans to the cooperatives, who sell the coffee to buyers. This process is controlled and observed by the Produces Association, which is the owner of the Geographical Indication/ GI logo and responsible for its quality. The logo is a guarantee for nothing less than pure Bajawa Arabica Coffee, single origin, as well as careful selection and processing.
