- What kind of group can 14.3's hold at 200 yards? Unfortunately, your not gonna be wacking ground squirrels at two football fields away. If you did hit one it would likely run away.
That's unbelievable shooting sir. Nobody would believe it if they don't see it themselves
Appreciate the kind words. Not very practical of an exercise, though I guess. I swear some of the hits appeared to have not penetrated the cardboard backing that the paper was attached. These pellets are making less 2 foot pounds of energy at impact if I remember correctly. However, pails to putting four of five rounds inside an inch at 350 yards. Needless to say you weren’t shooting those off the hood of your truck😉!
@motorgearhead 9" bipods on the Chevy hood. I prefer the ford hood because it's not as flimsy 🤣
But to deliver hits with 2# of energy is just plain impressive. . The biggest difference is I'm supersonic w decent bc, so couple inch wind drift. Those 14s will drift several feet with a breath of air. The practical use of that is it forces you to focus on every aspect of your shooting form. N even the slightest error is magnified that much more
You must know that gun like the back of your hand to be doing that lol
Hey guess all your snow is gone now. Last 2-3 days have been nice here. Actually this exercise was a learning experience. It’s a formula to get on paper. You need velocity, BC and a pretty large piece of paper. Having plenty of ammo & air helps. This was my second range outing to print the rifle. The first outing my elevation was was off to where I never got on paper and you can’t see a 14.3 “splash” at 200 yards. The problem was temperature. I had the dope from a day that I rang steel but this day was about 30 degrees colder. Cold air is dense. So I was shooting low. This day I got on paper was close in temp to the steel ringing day. The problem his day was wind drift. You just need a big piece of paper and a little luck. Also make sure plug your data in your ballistics app. If I had done that the range outing where I never printed I would have know I was gonna be about 40” low (due to lower temp). Anyhow. You just have to go and shoot it. So most of this was luck with a large piece of paper. It is fun when hit. Not so much when you don’t. A dry plowed field might give good feedback (splash). Anyway thanks for watching and commenting!
@@motorgearhead Yep the snow lasted 1 day lol. Yea shooting that far takes alot of making sure all the data is correct lol and a big piece of paper helps. Have an awesome day!
