The Shona language is almost like Swahili. I am from Kenya and understand many words in this language of Minister Mahendere. It is like Swahili slight disperity but love the language. Almost like the Miji kenda tribe of Kenyan coast
shona traces its origins from KiSwahili
Shona from Swahilli as we migrated from the Garden of Eden
They are both bantu languages
Be blessed I understand a bit of Swahili too
