Beautiful scenery - the colour of the water reminds me of the lakes around Olden and the fjords. Fantastic vlog - racing down that hill looked such fun and addictive. Love the views from the cable car. Thanks for giving us all a glimpse of such a unique and beautiful country. Recommend Norway for your next ‘extreme’ adventures.
Thanks Janet, yes the Luge was so addictive we were literally running to get back in the queue for our next turn! Norway is in our sights! 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Don't be bringing up the Luge Winner thing! (Andy speaking) 🤣 we're still having "discussions" 9 months after the event 🤣 🤣 🤣 Pancakes were 😋 cheers..Andy&Michelle x
Wonderful video re-living our time there at more or less the same time as you. We stayed at Arrowtown site because Queenstown site was full. I don't know the name of the cloud but that is why New Zealand is known as 'The Land of the Long White Cloud', believe that is a translation from Maori.
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures They were selling T-Shirts at the Burt Munro exhibition in Invercargill, meant to buy one but was so captivated by the Burt Munro story forgot to pick it up.
@@chrisraven1229 We didn't make it down to Invercargill but I've just been reading the story, fascinating, I can't believe one of his records still stands. What a great guy.
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures They made a good film telling his story with Anthony Hopkins called The Fastest Indian. Being a motorcyclist the museum was interesting, it's within a large hardware store, imagine B&Q with motorcycles scattered throughout, very original.
Partly the reason Queenstown and Wanaka is expensive as it has a large group of wealthy New Zealanders living permanently or have their holiday homes there. The area also attracts wealthy Australians who come over to ski plus the fact that can buy realestate without restrictions. Other wealthy individuals from foreign countries have successfully applied to buy land , the investment in working farmland is allowed but not easily given. Foreigners sometime also have to invest in New Zealand in other ways as well.
We saw lots of very expensive apartments being built there, I hope it's not going to change the vibe of the place making it only for the rich. cheers...Andy&Michelle
@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures The expense of housing there has been high since the 1980s. What you have seen is more land released for housing and higher density. With that said, it is unlikely to became filled with resorts the size some European countries have and North America. As you have probably realized we do not have as many gated communities and private beaches. Peter Thiel, USA billionaire owns property in the area as well as Shania Twains ex husband (who has managed his property well and has done all the was recommended by local authorities).
Hi guys been watching all your New Zealand videos as we are doing the same in feb 2025 unfortunately not in Motorhome but car and hotels / motels . What camera do you use I’ve just added an insta 360 to my go pro trying to work out the edits
Hi, hope the videos are useful to you, there’s about another 8-10 to come 😀 we use a GoPro max 360 and a GoPro 10, the 360 does take a bit of effort but find it easier to do it on the computer rather than phone , cheers…Andy&Michelle
