Unless I missed it, one thing that seems to be missing from the new designer is the ability to copy and paste actions via the clipboard, which I use a lot.
Yea, we been waiting 20 years for that formula bar to expand....! 🤣🤣 I am excited for the time when co-pilot can create solutions without making mistakes.
Frank that is a fabulous question I don't know for sure. My gut says it will be part of University but until I know what the class is I am not committing to that 100% quite yet. 🤩
Thanks, Shane! The Copilot works great for basic flows, but still needs work for more complex ones. In terms of performance, I don't think it's a "Shane thing". 😉 The Copilot and new UI is significantly slower than the traditional UI. I'll keep playing with it, and hopefully, it can spark suggestions for the complex bits of flows.
HI, I am running flows under a power automate premium license with 40k/action limit. These running heavily now in the transition period ass it is during testing - but on production will be low volume, below the limit. BUT when I open some of the flows with new copilot view I get message 'flow has too many actions'. Not sure what to do with this. Is there any risk for the flow to be blocked in the future ? thank you
Im in the UK and have copilot - but your flow editing interface looks very different to mine. Are they two different things being released at different times?
Hi Shane, thanks for the deep dive, great insight for a 'everyday joe' like me. We use power automate/apps often in my team and not all the products that we produce is as simple, effective and streamlined as I would like it to be. Do you know if we are going to be able to apply Copilot to existing stuff and make if better? For example, tell it to "make this code better" - Add a function here, remove a block over there, stuff like that. Or do we have to create new flows and apps from scratch?
I just checked my dev account and selected a flow I created last year. The toolbar at the top DOES give me the option to "Edit with Copilot (preview)".
I have to imagine it will evolve to be able to edit existiing apps/flows sooner than later. Did you see my video on using ChatGPT today to help you make your existing apps better? ua-cam.com/video/neeiK2M47go/v-deo.html We are having lots of luck with that.
Is or will it possible to add copilot as an action in a flow? E.g. „Summarize Word Document with Copilot“ -> Send Summary as Email and Create Power Point out of the Word document with Copilot That would be awesome
Not sure if anyone has experienced this with the new interface but I seem to have found a bug in it. When setting a SharePoint person to null it sends "null" instead of bare null. Noticed it was doing it for numbers too, it puts them in quotes. I used a formula and an if statement.
In the current UI the test button ALWAYS saves first. The button even changes to say "Save and test"! What on earth is the point of letting you test a flow that doesn't include the edits you just made??? Aarrgh! Microsoft makes me so mad sometimes!!!!
I wrote the request this way and I didn't get the For Each loop. Every time someone creates an item in my SharePoint list. Find the manager of the creator. Send the manager an approval email. Then set the SharePoint Approval status based on the manager feedback please. There is only one manager.
Nice Paul, thanks for sharing. The request I used in the video didn't do the loop in 2 practice runs but was determined to do it while I was recording. 🤷
Looks like a good idea, but more like a trainee instead of a CoPilot right now, isn't it? But who knows, and one day we'll even be able to sort our Flows alphabetically instead of just by last edit...
Look in the very top right corner. There are ... you can click and say switch to Classic. I showed it in Today's video also. ua-cam.com/video/IYesgzjBAI0/v-deo.html
All that lovely extra space in the new designer, yet the Dynamic Content is still truncated once selected, i.e. "Created..." instead of showing "Created by Email" which is what you actually selected at 9:45. WHY MICROSOFT WHY
Such a Microsoft thing to do! :D (I also want to know when the Created and Modified fields in each flow's front page will start showing Years on the dates, it's nuts that it only shows month, day and time!)
Unless I missed it, one thing that seems to be missing from the new designer is the ability to copy and paste actions via the clipboard, which I use a lot.
Yeah, I don't think that one has made it yet. 🫤
This Copilot is a game changer. Thank you Shane
I agree, awesome stuff.
Yea, we been waiting 20 years for that formula bar to expand....! 🤣🤣
I am excited for the time when co-pilot can create solutions without making mistakes.
I am guessing it will happen a lot faster than we think it will. 😎
@@ShanesCows we are in exciting times, Shane.
Really appreciate the detailed walk through. Thank you!
You are welcome. 😎
Thanks for this great introduction. Will this topic be a part of your university, or would I need to take this class besides the university?
Frank that is a fabulous question I don't know for sure. My gut says it will be part of University but until I know what the class is I am not committing to that 100% quite yet. 🤩
I'm in UK and this appeared for me today
Awesome!
Thanks Shane, really useful introduction to co-pilot
Very welcome!

Thanks, well put.

I don't think so, switch to classic designer for now and you should be safe.
Im in the UK and have copilot - but your flow editing interface looks very different to mine. Are they two different things being released at different times?
I have the option to choose between Edit and Edit with new designer
Intersting, I am not sure what they are up to.
great vid, mate. Is 'For Each' same as 'Apply to Each'? Cheers

It always shows the option, not until you click it will you find out if it works or not. 🙃

No I definitely did not! I will check that out at once :) @@ShanesCows

Yes, search for AI Builder in flow and you will see some AI options that are super easy to use.
@@ShanesCows thank a lot, I thought about something/ some actions with copilot but this is also fine
How to Copy Paste Action Now....
If not then it's very big issue 😥😥
And also we can't open multiple action at one time
we can check one Action's Detail at a time.
Yeah, it has some room for growth but overall a step in the right direction.

Interesting, I haven't ran into that. Glad you figured it out.

Being a guy with literally 600 flows better sorting and filtering would be fabulous. :)
First Time I got second 🤣 Loving the video.
Yay! Thank you!
The new interface stinks. How can I change it back?

🤩 I appreciate the support 🤩
Shane must have gone to University of Cincinnati…. Nah, must have been Miami of Ohio!
You were right the first time. UC grad approximately 1 million years ago. 🤩 How did you guess?
