It's good for recycling! It would be a good project for teachers to get their class room to do...kids could bring "trash" from home....something good for the environment!!
I really, really enjoy looking at art journals - & yes, it is art - like this. This particular journal of yours is my favorite - to date - of all of the journals that you have shared with us. It is colourful, interesting, upbeat, quirky, humorous, fun & doesn’t take itself too seriously - in other words, it’s very creative & absolutely wonderful.
I love these trash journals! Very clever how you put them together. I'm making my first trash journal with candy wrappers, sort-of a sweet tooth journal. Thanks for inspiring me 😊
Ha! So funny! I realize I’m bringing shame upon myself with some of my choices. 🍔🍕🍟🍬🍩You’re right though, it would be interesting to have something like this to see what my grandparents were eating.
You made this look so much fun that I am going to make a trash journal this weekend. How fun is that? Ms. Susan you make everything look great even the trash journal. I really enjoy you and your channel. I hope your channel keeps growing because you have so much talent and ideas to share with others. Happy journaling, hugs and blessings
Oh my gosh, thank you for your kind words. I have been inspired by so many different artists on YT and to think I may have inspired someone else gives me such joy. I do hope you enjoy making and filling up your trashy journal. Hugs and blessing back at you.❤️
Your true junk journals are very ice. I would even use it for memory keeping. I would print out pictures and glue them down on coordinating pages. Forexample, if there is a page with a pizza I would print out a picture of a day we ate pizza.
That's what I do. Mine isn't as nice as this one, but I like to write journal entries and stick in keepsakes like movie tickets and such, and pictures and all that.
I do not have a video on this but if you do a search on YT of “three hole pamphlet stitch” you will find tons that will explain this trip of binding. It’s not hard at all, maybe a bit fiddlely.
For this one I used packaging from products as a base. For my next one (see link below) I just used trashy paper that I would’ve thrown away. Thanks for looking and commenting. I hope you’ll give it a try. ua-cam.com/video/Y_Ju6h6nYp8/v-deo.htmlsi=IPyZAMEQjbS-IgOL
I don’t, but I just used a cookie box and backed it inside with packaging from La Croix for added strength. Then I used more packaging from products or junk mail for the pages. I used about 5 folded pages per signature so about 60 sides altogether. I would suggest glueing larger pieces down first as you go along and then adding progressively smaller pieces rather than glueing down a small piece initially. Also while glue stick will work paper to paper, be sure to have some double sided tape if you use foils or some plastics. Hope that helps.
When the enjoyment of it ends and you need space for other pieces you enjoy more it is time to either throw it away, gift it or donate. Often with art it is the process of making it and what one learns in that process that holds value and not necessarily the end result. Each person gets to decide what is of value to her and what isn’t. I doubt whether most artists save everything they do. It’s like parents saving their kids’ schoolwork. Do you save every paper they ever work on (some do if they have unlimited space)or only those that are special in some way?
I had to thumbs down this video. She’s so negative & why would you throw away your own creativity? What was the point in making it just to throw it away at some point? Being creative should never be thrown away! And she started the video negative, saying that it’s nothing special. If you made it & you used your creative mind then it should be special for those reasons alone! And it’s called a “junk journal” & if you don’t think that it’s special then maybe you should have made it more special. You decided what you put in it in the first place! We make these videos to inspire people, not make them not want to be inspired or creative! The negativity is such a turn off! ❌🚫👎🏾….
That was fun! I really liked the sound of the pages as well.
Glad you enjoyed it!❤
Love your trashy journals! They'd be great to look through in another 20 years and see which brands are still around etc 😀💚
@@BonnyAndClive Yes, and how the packaging changes as well! Thx for watching.
GREAT journals!!! I hope you will continue to make them!!!!
Thank you, I will❤
Love the trash journal ! Love that you made it from scratch!
Thank you. I’m glad you liked it.

Yes, I wish I had thought about this when I was teaching

Wow, I’m really surprised at that, but I’m glad you enjoyed looking at it. Thx for the feedback. I appreciate it.
Don’t throw it away! It’s beautiful & I’ve seen people sell them & not as cute as yours. Some folks buy these believe it or not
Wow, I can’t imagine!
Woah, yours are the best junk journals I've seen so far.
Well, thank you so much. I’m glad you like them.

That sounds like such fun…the eating as well as the journal making! ❤️
I love them both.
Thanks!
That is amazng social history. A really cool idea!!!😊
Thanks. I’m glad you liked it…why not give it a try?
u should keep it to pass down to future generations so one day it becomes vintage and people can look back at all the crap we used to eat lol💖

@@SueF51 hey i think we all have our share of "food choices of shame"...to make a junk journal!!! lol

I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Looks like you do love your chocolate!! Cute ideas❤
Yes, and coffee! 😂
That's one of the great things about trashy junk journals. It reveals so much about the person who made it! Love it!

How did you assemble this? How do you connect them for the signatures. I love this idea! ❤❤❤👍👍

So, are you using it to actually journal in or add art or something...or are you just showcasing your trash?
Just the trash. I journal about my day separately.
Why throw it away after a while??? There is so much potential for future stuff!!!

@Quantae_Vlogs You're a turn off. Your comment is extremely negative actually, nothing you said was uplifting or inspiring at all. The irony...
