- After ordering these “Definitive Edition” re-pressings in December 2016 as part of the new Nine Inch Nails commitment to vinyl, Dave dives into the LPs once they finally arrived in August 2017. In addition to the newly remastered 90s albums, he also unwraps NIN’s 2016 EP NOT THE ACTUAL EVENTS and the limited-edition, vinyl-only, 4xLP DEVIATIONS 1, which is a “deconstruction” of THE FRAGILE album by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross containing instrumentals, alternate versions and over an hour of never before heard material from the original FRAGILE recording sessions.

The Fragile is SUCH an immaculate album!!! It’s like a soundtrack or something. It progresses perfectly and every moment is amazing. Probably my favorite NIN and in my top 10 of favorite all time albums.

I wish that there was a book, the size of a vinyl sleeve with all of the details pertaining to the making of each album. Chock full of information and photos. I’d buy that today!!!
I lived on NIN from 1994-2008 after that my fandom died down. I saw him on 2 tours, Reznor will always be in my top 5 inspirations/beloved music artist. My friend in high school had Pretty Hate Machine, and Broken which I borrowed in 1994 cause I had bought The Downward Sprial, and I was HOOKED! I loved the Fragile, With Teeth, Year Zero, The Slip, I suffer from depression and his music always was a soundtrack to the times when I was dealing with some shit but I’m order and have persevered. But yeah I’m rambling, beautiful artist I’m glad I was there at the height and witnessed the good years.
been a NIN fan since I was 16. I did have 1-16 halos on CD. i just got Broken EP on Vinyl. I read on the b side on the record works are etched in the groves
The downward spiral is a killer edition.
I wish they’d have done the same gatefold pattern on the broken vinyl packaging as the cd version

Your fingerprints do appear when touching the sleeve for not the actual events ep because of the type of black powder Trent used. Myself I keep the plastic on all my vinyls.

How do they play?? The only new vinyl I bought was Radiohead's OK Computer and the thing skips like fuck right out of the package. Stuck to only vintage since. But that's really hard to do with NIN and I'm droolin at this video.
Candy, I was having that same skipping problem on various records. I taped a penny to the top of the record player arm. I haven't had any issues since. Thank you for watching!
That’s the con about records it’s super expensive. Often times any playback issues you may have with a record is due to the record player. Be very careful they can ruin your vinyl. I would recommend the audio Technica AT LP120
