thank you my brother for the in-depth comparison between R5C and C70, good job,
Thank you brother for the effort you made in this video. Keep it up, I enjoy your videos.
For image quality you can’t go wrong with either camera nice comparison
I own BOTH and decide every single time which cam I will use... I am in Italy at the moment and today I was asked to make a registration a 2 people interview and I used the C70 on an DJI RS 3Pro which I mounted on a tripod... I had to film inside and there was a strange big lamp hanging from the ceiling which I had to use... but with the C70 material and Davinci Resolve Studio it was no problem at all do deliver a great, sharp, colour-correct 10 min video. Both talents had a lavalier microphone attached to the Rode Wireless Go II recorded on separate channels... Last Sunday I had to take photographs and - indeed - I used my R5C... excellent... I took some small videos using the DJI Pocket 2 (4K)... not bad at all either... Take care!
Oh wow that seems you are enjoying your time with the C70. I have move from editing in FCPX to Davinci now so I can use the C70 fully recording on XF-AVC 60p and I love it. Is the DJI Pocket any good?
Hakuna matata! well after having for a year the R5c I just sold it and now I have the C70, mainly because I don't use the photo, and I also like more the DGO sensor and its RAW, I feel it is more solid to work with. But it's true that the construction and smallness of the R5C is a plus, and there are many ways to charge it, I will miss it but I think I made a good decision. Now they are all crazy about the S5 IIX, it doesn't stop! Best regards
I really think that if I don't have need for Photo and 8K I always use the C70 cause the battery consumption of the R5C can be source of anxiety and if I can avoided I will do it all the day. I hope the next upcoming firmware will address the power consumption issue. I have been with Panasonic Lumix and moved away from it and I don't regret it. Panasonic not good on developing camera with customer need in mind. They are playing catch up when they were the first to introduce 4K in the DSLR back in 2009 anyway.
I own a canon R5C and C70 ! when there was only the p5c, I thought that the c70 would be much more convenient because of the nd filters as well as the dynamic range! when I bought the c70, I realized that I just bought a new toy in a larger case! The p5s do a great job in super 35 mode in 8k raw and is friends with the C70! I love them both! canon is the best solution!!! sorry about my english
Great comparison! What tripod do you use?very solid holding two cameras
Thanks Buddy, yes indeed very solid. I use this monopod www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B083DQT3C5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and with this dual bracket to mount both cameras side by side. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06ZXYWBG7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Great Content: If you purchase a camera today, would you recommend the sony fx3 or the canon r6 mark ii for doc/vlog content or any other suggestions?
Thank you buddy, if I am purchasing a camera today and have option only camera for video needs I will buy the C70. It is an underrated camera but it is very powerful budget cinema camera with professional feature.
I have both cameras for my business. Each has its own plus and minus. For video works, I use my C70, the built-in ND is a must, but it lacks EVF is a big minus. R5C is mainly used as a photo camera with built-in EVF, which is fantastic, but without ND and poor power runtime, it is less desirable as a video tool.
True, I am looking forward to the new firmware update for the R5C to improve battery consumption and now with the Tilta left hand side with internal battery the power increase to 170% of recording. And also I found a solution for the VND filter with the Tilta Matte Box with wireless control ND. I am going to make a video showing the transformation of R5C. Thanks for sharing your insight with us here.
You're comparing a Mirrorless to Cinema Camera. Of course the C70 doesn't have built in EVF. Canon did this on purpose. Most true cinema cameras don't have built in EVF. Because all film shoots are different - not having a built in EVF allows users to either mount EVF or go without it. If you don't need EVF for a specific shoot, it's A LOT better not having a built in lump directly in the center of the camera. Ergonomically, built in EVF doesn't make sense. It's also not a wise use of real estate for the camera body and limits mounting points. I would be totally bummed if the C70 had built in EVF
Also i think c70 is more cinematik feel on motion. Am i right @bchi521
who doesn't use external power for a cinema camera?
Did you happen to use an nd filter for the R5C? I own both cameras and when shooting outdoors in good lighting there really isn’t that massive of a color difference. Wondering if it has to do with the ND (if) you used one on the R5C. Nice video btw!
Just noticed in one of your clips that you did use an ND filter on the R5C. I would recommend you test it without the ND filter and I bet you there won’t be much of a difference at all in color. Obviously the c70 has good internal nd’s with minimal to no color shifting.
@@brandonbrodie4547 Thank you very much, yes I did use ND filter, I will follow your suggestion record with ND and compare them again. Thanks for that.
When recording were both cameras set to the same kelvin number for white balance?
No the white balance was set to Auto. You are making a good point. I am going to record again a set the WB to the same Kelvin number and we can see. Thanks for highlighting.
@@KHCAMS NDs will likely affect color also as C70 internal ND will be different from any ND used with the R5C.
@@csound55 That is true too, I did try to use the same ND filter with both and not use the C70 internal filter, I think it did not help then. So you think the different of color tone is due on WB and could be also cause by the ND filter too?
@@KHCAMS It can be caused by both. Also, try to shoot r5c in super 35 mode as well for equivalint comparison to c70.
@@KHCAMS I think most external NDs have a slight color shift
