Let me tell you guys... what are the differences
    1) You feel like you made it in Life once you reach abroad as a student (be it US/Canada/UK/European country/ Asian country)
    2) You will find everything expensive due to price conversion for example 1ltr of milk is about 0.90 - 1.79 Euros if you convert to rupees you go crazy!!!(I have lived and currently living as a student in Germany and Italy) but you get used to it.. the prices are high here for everything.
    2) The Language. If you plan to study in a non English speaking country I am TELLING YOU!!! - LEARN THE BASICS OF THAT LANGUAGE! other wise you will find it hard to survive... mainly when you have to deal with groceries shopping and public transports.
    4) Rules and the Law. For me personally as a citizen on the street I feel more respected in Germany and Italy. Because people have road manners here and follow the rules set by the Authorities. When you have to shift the road while walking, the cars will stop for you. - unlike India. (I still love my country ❤️) and the police are very very kind and totally available to you. If anything bad happens don't feel alone just report it to local police through call. And you also follow the rules!
    5. Food problems: Yes ofcouse, you will probably have a flash back of yourself complaining about the food served by your mom😂 but you truly miss Indian food and go crazy.. but don't worry you will find some Indian/Turkish/Iranian/afghan groceries store and you can buy rice, herbs and spices form there. But mind it- it will be expensive ofcouse. And you will eventually switch to eating less expensive Indian food. (I eat fruits, salads and occasionally cook good Indian food during weekends and its actually keeping me fit and healthy and satisfied)
    6) People- People are open minded here.. I suggest you to carry your best... Your character, your attitude, your personality is something very special about you and thats why you made it. So feeel super happy and confident when you communicate. It doesn't matter if you didnt understand that person. Be polite and kind and ask them to repeat. And.. dont please behave carelessly or get over drunk public , remember you are not in India. Whatever you behave that speaks of India. Watch your habits and attitudes. And one more thing... dont get into dating... take time to enjoy your life.
People will be nice to you, because they are nice and kind.. and that doesnt mean they are inviting you!
    7) Weather: India has 12hr day and 12hr night... but in abroad the sunrise and sunsets vary depending on the season. So expect some changes in your daily routine if you are person associated with the sunrise and sunset rather than clock.
    8) Culture: Every country has its own culture of greeting and behaviour. I suggest you to be very open minded and make friends and that's how you will learn the culture of food, art, dining, festivals, music and much more.. and ofcouse you can also explore alone.. Throw that shyness, anxiety or underconfidence away. It will never let you experience life to its fullest! So even though you feel a nervous while interacting just hide it!! Fake it! Eventually you trained yourself to feel confident!
    9) Finance: At one point of time... as a student, you will feel hopeless. You think your friends are not good enough for you. And you have lots to study. You miss your family. You don't like your neighbours and everything is a problem in your life and you fear of going bankkrupt!!!! I suggest you to go through this phase and totally relax later... there are 2 aspects. If you are in English speaking country 50% of the above problems are solved because its easier to find a parttime jobs there(US/Canada/UK/Australia).. But!..... if you are in a Non English speaking country you will have hard time with job... so you must know atleast A2-B1 level of their language to get a part time job to cover your rent, food and entertainment. If you have already saved (15lax per year) and don't have problems with money then you will do fine... what ever happens hold on to yourself and trust me! You will get that internship, that part time job and you will make it to the end and definitely you will be happy! Also never care bout what people think about your choices, they are just other people. You have a long life to live and you definitely build up your character and meet great and right people in your life..
    10) Final Verdict-
Try to focus on building your Character and personality. Don't ever let your clothes, your low bank balance or no friends to hang out- thing to determine who you are! Create a great state of mind and be mindfull about the time you spend with the kind of people, places, ideas, materialistic things and the kind of thought process you have.
Have a clear "Why" - why you came abroad and what you want to achieve. Create a vision board and remind yourself what is that you want And just focus on that.. and you will make a beautiful life out of yourself.
I wish you all the best!!!!!!!!

@@nevergonnagiveyouup3352 That's some really shallow thinking. The plain truth is that the quality of education outside of India is much better. I did my bachelor's in India and that was the worst decision ever. Indian education system is just about cramming a bunch of books just before exam, I'm sure you are aware of this. I'm planning to do masters, and my logical conclusion was to go abroad. I don't want a repeat of my bachelor's happening. In India, unless you get admitted into IIT/IIM, it's really not worth doing masters from any other college/university. And the competition for these places are insane. So the best choice is to go abroad where one can get good quality education and a better quality of life. And there are lots of non-western institutions which are among the world's best. These are in Singapore, Japan, China etc. All of the world's best institutions are judged on many different ,universally applicable aspects, one of the most important being the quality of research work produced. Apart from IIT/IIM , research is basically a joke in other Indian institutes. The ability to mass produce robots which can cram lots of useless info, and forget it after exams, should not be a criteria for being the world's best institute.
For full disclosure, I can tell you that I did my bachelor's from one of India's top institutes, and I was talking about my experience. So I can only imagine the education quality from other colleges/universities in India.
But one thing I can agree with you is that after spending a fortune on an education abroad, if you end up with a job that pays 20-30K in India, then yeah, something is wrong with you. You either did not work hard enough for a better job, or you wasted your post study work visa time partying. I know people like this, and their laziness and stupidity amazes me. They are rich though, and low/ middle income people cannot afford to do this.
Edit: Did you know that you can also literally buy Indian degrees? There is an actual mafia behind this, hence further reducing the value of Indian degrees (Non-IIT/IIM). If you are applying to a job abroad that needs a masters, your Indian degree will be outright rejected. This is reality.

The only difference is part time job along with studies is well appreciated in abroad whereas in India this trend is very slow. The rest of Content is similar to the hosteller in India also.Staying in a hostel in a totally new state is also like abroad. I have compared the Dal, sambar as well as tea of my native state. If I don't do laundry on time then it will be piled up and plus majority of hostels don't have luxury of washing machines. People always admire of student life in abroad but I really feel that before moving to abroad have a experience of hostels during your degree or pg. We will learn a lot and we become more matured. In the initial stage Life leaving our family will suck our confidence be it in India or abroad. Later on we will change but yes our home is always the best as our family is there.

It’s so sad people in the comments are so dumb saying that they should’ve stayed in hostel in india and done this and that.. most of the people who come abroad come from diverse backgrounds many have work experience from India, most of them have lived independently in India and are doing the same here but still consider this much difficult. I myself did my graduation in a different state in India, worked a part time job but if I missed my parents I could take the flight within a week or two and get back to them in 3 hours and here its like 18 hours, culture shock is a real thing, learning about a new country’s tax system, bus routes, cultures, work environment, finding people with whom you can connect with and talk freely. It’s damn difficult. Many students get aid here for studying also education in India is expensive just add 3-4 lakhs to that and you’ll get a community college here.
I’m not encouraging brain drain but there are so many things that a person thinks of while moving abroad. For me its to get my mother settled here so that she gets a good medical in future and gets money from government, I wish to bring my sibling here so that he can study in a diverse environment.
Please don’t take such reviews in negative light as no one here is saying that India is easy no india is damn difficult in its own way but so is abroad

honestly, the reason for going abroad is never better education cause to be honest if you want good education you can always go for a top tier private college if you could not get a good govt college because of reservation or competition. students actually go abroad looking for freedom, better opportunities, and infrastructure. Most importantly it has always been a status symbol. I wish india was as free and clean, so none of us had to think of leaving.

Looking at the present situation of Education System in our country,
it is totally normal for any student who gets the opportunity to study abroad to apply for it as their first choice.
NTA here is literally destroying the lives of thousands of students by publishing wrong results.
Our Supreme Court is totally fine with that and says that such problems will be there.
Then it is also totally normal for BRAIN-DRAIN to happen in India as many deserving students don't get good colleges
due to this unfair selection system. Only some rich students get that facility..........

Let me narrate a story. My sister did her BDS from top college in India. She worked hard to go to USA. She secured a scholarship for a course. When she was a student, she enjoyed the freedom, the cleanliness, the culture. After the course, reality hit her when there were very few jobs for expats and only a certain criteria of jobs provided to Indians. She managed to secure a job unrelated to her academics and a few years later got married to a guy there only. For a few years, they enjoyed their privacy, no in-laws interference, roamed a lot. Then they had a child. Then my mother had to go there and work as a nanny for 6 to 8 months free of cost. Post that, her mother in law went to serve as a free nanny. Post that they themselves had to look after the kid, household stuff and their respective jobs as well. Now it started pinching them that they're always tired and there was no one to help them. Now they started to miss their family and started begging to these old woman to come and help them. The kid is now working in a different state in USA and visits the parents rarely only on weekends. My sister ans her husband now miss India a lot when they see all the family updates on whatsApp groups.
Meanwhile last year when they visited india they saw how much india has transformed ans everything is just one app or just one click away. They saw how I outsource all the unproductive tasks and save time for my family, take care of the health of my old parents and my in laws. My parents who were once proud of my sister for securing an admission abroad are now bitter... That she has not fulfilled any responsibility of a daughter as she was settled abroad.
    P. S... I believed and still do, in the potential India carries.
I completed my engineering n did my mba in India. I have slogged hard n I m the Director of a company in India. Just Fyi, I belong to general category and my father was a railway tc and my mother a house wife
The euphoria of being abroad is just for a few years. Wait till they get married and start a family! 😂

I do feel it’s much more difficult for medical people to study and get jobs in usa. It’s so much easier for engineering people to study and get a job in usa. Medical degrees are not recognised in usa but engineering is, which makes engineers go there and directly start with masters. I am proud that you succeeded in India.

I’m a masters student in Canada and I feel like studying abroad is such a scam! You just keep paying for everything. The education is good but also so much hyped. The actual learning experience is out of the classroom which is universally true. So not like countries in the west tell you some secrets of a great career inside the classes. You learn from the people you meet. But there’s so much loneliness, it takes a toll on you. If you’re someone very close to your roots, you will question a lot. Like there’s this fascination Indians have for native English speakers or the white people which is so unnecessary! You’ve been taught they are better or superior in many ways than you but do you listen to them carefully? They are talking shit. I’m very proud of people in india who are struggling and fighting their fight. Please know that you are not missing out on anything. Your struggle is real and keep working hard. I am living abroad as an international student working, sometimes doing double shifts in a day. It is not easy at all first of all you have to work almost everyday otherwise how will you be able to afford your living expense other is that you have to save for your college fees which is hell lotta expensive for international student. After that you have to study. The curriculum here is completely different from back in our home country. Here there is more emphasis on assignments one has to follow the guidelines rule to pass the unit. Making your own food is not easy at all. Attending classes going to work and sleep that’s all left of your life till the time you are studying. So think twice before you decide going to study abroad. And if you are choosing a good course which gives you a high chance of better employment don’t hesitate to take the student loans.

First of all students are going abroad knowing all these.. They have ofcourse done a detailed enquiry about how to have a living there... And most importantly its not only in abroad.. there are many students who are living away from home, on their own have to do everything... buying groceries, cooking, washing, paying billls etc and that's not a big deal....and one should not wait to go somewhere or until a time that you must do the house chores.. You can even practice it early at your home.... without the gender difference.

At the end of day you gonna feel lonely deep inside because there is no one here and you gonna earn money just for urself because ur family and friend aren't here ... & That money means nothing because u don't have anyone to spend with you ..just some friends who will be with you just for a year or two that's it . German Universities are tuition free but have strict admission requirements as compared to other countries, as nobody wants to spend money if they are getting something for free. In other countries you can easily change your field of study, but, its not the case in Germany and also being a non-English speaking nation and it has its own disadvantages and you need to have at least 15-20 lakhs for living expenses alone for 2 years depending on the size of the city. Its not like a rich or poor kids game, rather the aspirants have to look in a broader perspective.
