Hey Taren, just found your channel a month ago and did my first triathlon last month of roughly 7 weeks of training (from basically zero bike and run training experience). I literally did exactly this kind of prep for the bike (2 intense short rides and 1 medium easy rides) and went so much faster putting in what felt like almost 50% effort but no more. Thanks for the upload!
Awesome! Already got those swim foundations sitting on the shelve. After reading and appreciating how focused you take triathlon apart, I was hoping you'd come up with bike foundations, too. And run foundations for that matter. And nutrition foundations. And transitioning foundations :-D
Hey Tony, it’s important to get the body used to that transition after a long bike ride to the run. This doesn’t have to be a long run 20-30 mins would do. I learned this the hard way when I started with triathlon by getting what we call “jelly legs” at the beginning of the run of my first Olympic triathlon (not fun).
If you can only do one brick workout a week, should it follow the endurance ride or the intensity ride? And again is you only have one should run “hard” off the bike or easy?
Hi Taren I love your channel! I recently bought both of your books but see they have come as a pdf. Do we get a hard copy sent to us like you are showing in the video?
An absolute load of shit .. 2 Rides a week ! .. Why bother ! if you don"t want to train don"t train , if you want to spend your free time with family and friends do that . People want it all with no sacrifices .

Great video Mr Taren! I’m glad you’re willing to share so many details within the book. Thanks for all that you do here! 👌

* Sorry, I don't want to buy the book yet. But I did like and subscribe 👍
Thanks Taren, great information... I have a 70.3 coming up. Going to go with this plan ..makes a lot of sense . Cheers mate
So you have a Swim Foundations book, a Bike Foundations Book. Is there a Run Book coming soon? I would love to have the full set.
Silly question sir...why is the paper version cheaper ($17) than the $19 ebook version if it includes all the same stuff and I get a book?
Send this guy $2
Ordered! I can’t wait to get it! Thank you! :)
Ordered all 3 books.
Two is good, just bought your book like the idea of saving time. Also bought the swim book also
Thanks Taren
I’d say that anyone who tries this approach should make of the long endurance ride a brick workout (avoid jelly legs).

Taren- can you do a segment for paratriathlon?
I could summarize this in 10 secs.
Do a long slow and low, do a short high intensity interval workout, per week
I need the same for swimming now
D M this book also exists for swimming!! Look for it!
So is 2 quality bikes and 2 quality runs a viable Triathlon training method?

I'd say easy ride followed by easy run
Do lots of epo
For brick training days, should both exercises be the endurance focus or intensity focus? Or can one be endurance and the other intensity?
Hi Taren

Nicole Eric Cabunilas no it doesn’t ;)
What does Lionel Sanders have to say about this..
Do you recommend HIIT during the offseason on the bike? Or do you mostly focus on building strength (e.g. dead lifting) and endurance?
I was going to ask the same question. Seen a reply yet?
