Outstanding short and informative video. Saved me a bunch of money. $75 labor vs $350 labor for them to drive and measure and return to install vs me just taking it there for both.
*It’s: Pretty. Quiet. **Fastly.Cool** in my room. Works wellLittle of hassle to install was TOTALLY worth it. I’m loving it so far. I recommend watching the installation video and taking it slow~*
Simple things are easy once you know them!!! I knew that the windows would just pop out, but I didn't know about the height restrictor. After straining to force my window out for 5 minutes, I decided to come to youtube and found your video. I should have done that first!! Nice job, clear instruction and right to the point.
It’s taken me over a year to change out my sliding window. I had the replacement but intimidated to change and your video just helped me today to change it and I’m so relieved! Thanks for posting!
With a putty knife, you have to cut the seal that connects the glass to the vinyl. Very similar to how windshield glass is removed but much easier because windshield glass uses a thick butyl which is very strong once it cures and iits hard to cut.
Hi. This was a big help. We have a broken glass pane on a horizontal window. Though the pane that is broken is the non sliding portion. Is there a way to remove the non sliding sash?
My living room window has two sliding windows on either side of a stationary one. If I take both the sliding windows out I can take the center one out using the same method he shows. Hope that helps!
Useless information for some people because you didn’t even talk about the wheel assembly on the bottom. It needs to be inspected and cleaned and possibly replaced and you should’ve covered that too. Thank you.
That hight restrictor preventing the window from being lifted up had me stumped and I know better. I got the the weather strip fixed, thanks for the video.
I just bought new windows in May and now in early June the slider window with 2 sliders and in the middle a glass piece doesn’t close and lock on the left window. It did for a while and now it doesn’t at all. There is no interference and the track is clean. What would cause this? Another slider window that got installed has the same problem. We can’t latch the windows because the window doesn’t meet up with the lock.
A tip on removing the window screens: DON'T use the tabs at all... mine broke almost immediately. Go to the opposite side of the screen and push against the side with the spring-loaded clips. Then use the tabs to pull the window inside your unit. You can actually just use the edge of the screen to remove the screen.
How do you shut the flat type of latch... I don’t like a stick type thing you slide back and forth I have a flat one you pull toward you and I have NO CLUE how to shut it. I don’t know if I, just not strong enough but it doenst close when you push it toward the window
Hi Doug! Yes, the only part of the window you can temporarily remove is the movable portion, all other parts of the window are not meant to be temporarily removed as they are permanently in place.
Wow! 🌹🤗👏 great , easy & wisely designed product. Window pane glass is light white frosted giving soothing appearance. Such kind of products less available in India. & if it available then it is very costlier.
Hello, how do you remove the other (fixed/stationary) part of the window? I have a cracked thermal glass and would like to remove it to bring it in for repair. Thank you

I have aluminum ugi horizontal sashes and one in 2 rooms need replaced. Low funds and do not want to use any more credit any ideas how we can fix cheap ourselves? Glass co's are quoting 150 to 200 a piece. Please send me a response and your thoughts and really appreciate thank you 😍
Is there a way to reverse the sliding direction? I want to put the fixed window on the right side so that I can put an air conditioner on the left side
If you can remove both panes. Flip them over 180s. So to is bottom and bottom is now to of the pane. Then reinstall windows. Make sufe both parts of the lock afw inside. You can then call them switched.
Help! My Picture Vinyl windows: the Middle window is stationary and do NOT OPEN. The windows on the Left and on the Right open but they are STUCK and I can't open them. HELP! What must I do to OPEN them???
Okay, a very common misstep is to assume the lever is open when it is in fact closed. I would move the lever to what you believe is in a locked position and see if the window now moves. Another option - sometimes there is a lock on the jamb located in the upper track. Depending on the manufacturer there could be a lock that you can’t see unless you are looking for it. If all else fails, reach out directly to the manufacturer to have an experienced technician come out to assess and/or repair if necessary.
wow bro TYSM - my dual pane sliding down is making such a squeeky sound I tried cleaning greasing the bottom and nothing.... now i see this video and imma try it!!! TYSM
@@CedarglenHomes Got it. So the only way to open up the full window would be to remove the whole frame/unit? Reason I ask - I am trying to move a large piece of furniture into my basement and I believe my only option is to bring it in through my egress window on the side of the house.
@@zleahy Hi Zach! Yes, the only part of the window you can temporarily remove, is the movable portion, all other parts of the window are not meant to be temporarily removed.
ua-cam.com/video/ZrCNJZ1e9Lg/v-deo.html I'm sure 11 months later, you have probably figured it out, but here is a link for windows for posterity reasons.
Is there a quick and easy way to give someone on UA-cam (at least US to US) a dollar or so for a useful little tip like this? Thanks @CedarglenHomes! (This message took longer than I would want to take to just throw a dollar at this channel, for example 😂)

what about the rest of the window...
How do you remove the other more stationary pane? Is that a possibility without destroying the frame?
What about the other side of the window? Does it remove as well? Or is it fixed.
What about the other window, if you have a double slider
That hight restrictor preventing the window from being lifted up had me stumped and I know better. I got the the weather strip fixed, thanks for the video.
What about the outer window pane? Does it work the same way? Both of my panes are able to slide
That’s what I need to known
How can I remove the other half?

You can’t
I tried putting mine back in , I can’t seem to make them fit !!
Wish you'd shown removing the lower track for cleaning...

thats what i need to do as well cant find any videos on it let me know if you figure it out. TY
I'm looking for that as well. I have dual pane windows and the outside layer has broken on the stationary side of both.
Trying to figure out why my windows won’t lock. They push the window when I lock it and the latches miss.
What a nice view you've got there
Can u take the other glass piece out??
Hi there! With this type of window, you can only remove the sliding window and its window screen.

I have an old aluminum one it'll move up and down but it won't move high enough to pull the bottom out what do I do about that
Well done! It is easier once you see it done once.
What if I want to remove the fixed window as well, not just the sliding one
Thanks mate, you saved my afternoon.

So you can only take out the literal sliding window? Is the other window permanent? Is the window screwed into the frame of the house?

does anyone know where i can just replace 1 half of the window

Do you know of a workaround for windows without the provision of simply sliding out

How do you remove the left side window that doesn’t slide
Hi Ted, the left side window cannot be removed - just the right side.
Very well explained 👏
Just what I needed - thank you.
How do you remove left panel sir?
Hi Balu! The left panel, in this window, is stationary and is not removable. Only the sliding portion of the window comes out.

If you break the tabs on the screen, just use a butter knife between the screen edge and the window edge to werdge it out.
