Hi there. That was really interesting to watch. We can’t grow those plants outdoors here in the North East of England but I have seen them growing indoors. I’ll have to get one for my daughter as she loves tropical looking house plants. When do your temperatures begin to drop during the day?

@@dianebuie9011 It looks like next week we’ve got near frost temps at night, but it will still be quite warm during the day. We are having big fluctuations between day and night temps this autumn. It has been unseasonably warm and dry around here. We haven’t had rain in weeks! Very unpredictable! We normally have frost ranging from Sept 21 to November 20 in years past. I can remember some years taking my kids trick or treating in winter coats. I guess it gives me more time to prepare for winter! The elephant ears are lovely indeed! Next, I’ll be digging cannas. Thanks for visiting! 🌿🌿🌿😀💕

I have some fancy elephant ears I want to try and save. After you dry them….you just lay them in a cardboard box? Do you wrap them in anything? Do you put a lid on the box?

@@cindylouwhobohl6983 mine are just the regular ones, but it probably works just the same. Some people will wrap in newspaper or layer in with paper shreds, but I don’t wrap mine. If they are being stored in a garage though, wrapping may be a good idea (but they are less likely to freeze if stored in a cool basement). After they dry out a week or two inside in a dark room, I always put them inside a paper bag or cardboard box, spaced apart enough so they are minimally touching each other and there is air circulation around each of them. Then, I close the box, because darkness keeps them dormant. If a bulb/tuber senses light it will try to grow. I then keep the closed box in my cool basement. Good luck, this method has worked for me every year! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱😀
