@@enesjei I think if you were a Genshin dev you'd be pretty insane to call Genshin a BOTW killer, the game that literally revolutionized an entire sub genre in the gaming industry.
This reminds me of the situation that happened with Yandere simulator and a rival game, Love Letter. Love Letter was made purely to spite the creator of Yandere Simulator. The creator of love letter eventually got into huge controversies and the project ultimately crashed and burned. Developers should focus more on making a good quality game, rather than be something to kill competition because more often than not, things made to spite something else does not last long
Here's the thing, Asian ppl through both genetics and beauty standards in Asia will look much much younger than what the west is used to, literally have a friend that is 32 and when he stands next to a group of college student ppl will mistake him for one of them. excluding the literal toddler models like the ones in genshin, most ppl can't really tell someone that's 16 and someone that's 24. And bc of that most character that the west would consider "not 18" are really ambiguous. And also they just don't give a fk about the whole social justice thing, based honestly.

I only looked at the Trailer part of this dude's video and that alone basically made me stop wanting to try out Tower of Fantasy. Outsourcing trailers is common, that is why games like AFK Arena have like 30 different videos showing different games/styles rather than the actual gameplay. As far as the trailer goes, if they outsourced it to the company that did the Bilibili trailer than most likely someone at that company just used the same camera set up and plugged in the other assets. Again, this happens all the time and doesn't mean the original company stole anything.
This is one reason why Hoyoverse doesn't want leaks. Another studio can claim the leaks as their own because Hoyoverse hasn't officially announced it yet
As for the trailer for that game, I think it'd be funny to say, that you told the person in charge of the trailer to make it like the genshin impact one and the person in charge took it a bit too literally.
Coming from a long term Genshin player who is between a Dolphin and a Whale. I switched to Tower of Fantasy and never looked back. Clone or not, TOF has so many more things and quality of life things that Genshin has been lacking since release. The fighting and movement in TOF is fluid and outshines Genshin as well. I love the system setup and the mounts etc All of it outshines Genshin and once again, that's coming from a Genshin player who has been playing since day one of release. TOF will exceed it down the road, I have no doubt in my mind. Genshin never cared to take the communities requests for simple, once again, quality of life things where TOF.
About plagirism - Mihyo is known for copying stuff too. In their first game, one character has same moves as Bayonetta. They also took greatsword moves from Nier
At least they branched out a bit, made the games their own thing. Yeah they used a couple moves but at least it isn't AS blatant or obvious as literally stealing a model. Hell, I didn't even notice one of the characters used Bayonetta's moveset(I doubt they actually did but it's been a while since I last played either games) and I haven't played Nier at all so I cant specifically argue whether or not it was stolen.
I not many people agree but compared to the degree Genshin copied Breath Of The Wild... Tower of Fantasy is a way bigger offender. In Short: TOF is a Genshin Impact clone. I agree it has diffrences but there is proof that they stole from Honkai Impact, literally copied another companies trailer. Both of which they tried to hide.
I honestly don’t see the issue behind mentioned at 39:06. It’s not even about trying to see the thigh highs, the mini skirt, or the ass of the characters at this point. It’s simply just how third-person perspective work. Just because the camera is behind a character and their ass is sticking out a little, doesn’t always mean it’s sexualized.
I agree, I play Genshin and literally 70% of the cast are female, and in turn 90% of my characters owned are female. Do you think I want to see Ganyu's thiccness while I'm trying to scale a wall? Maybe, but the point is just because I look up to see how far I have to climb or if there's an outcrop I could rest on doesn't explicitly mean I'm looking at Ganyu's ass, that's just how thirdperson is.

For my second year of college, my group in game design class had to create a video game given the time frame of one month. The type of game doesn't matter but this would be our final project. Our professor said that we would be judged based upon how actual companies perceive its net worth , as if they were going to buy our game. Our group internally had decided that we should copy assets. It mainly came down to the idea that we wanted to output as much as we could in the time allotted, meaning a higher grade. And as long as we weren't blatantly copying whole zones or copying tons of material from the same game, no one could tell the difference. We copied trees, bridges, furniture, mobs, etc. all from different games, as long as they all fit our aesthetic theme. Well when it came to the day we presented our project, most if not all of the groups had created their own assets, UI, sound effects, etc. All of them were 2D games and what most people would call fairly basic. I mean what else would you expect from sophomores developing a game in a month? But when we presented our budget 3D Darksouls clone, everyone in the class was in awe and clapped at the end. And we ended up with the highest grade in the class. (was like a 96, no one gets 100 for finals in his class) When it comes to production, people want to see results. Ego and honor no do not matter here. If mixing and copying assets is going to make the game better and provide better results, well then I’d say go for it. I just want a good game.

How much you wanna bet that all of you ToF haters will, surely, download and play the game SECRETLY once it comes out. Remember, Genshin was tremendously bashed for being a BoTW clone months before its release, and look at where it is now.
"The combat, is so much better than Genshin" This is heavily debatable, the combat does NOT follow the same guidelines as Genshin's and therefore cannot be judged to be trully superior. Genshin focuses on a more tactical approach to combat where character usage order and elemental combinations are for more important than things like combos, mobility and timmings. meanwhile Tower of Fantasy is more of an action game
Couple other studios could grab everything from genshin and make it 1000 times better than that piece of shit. Love how someone complains another studio stealing from MiHoyo when that very same studio has stolen so much from others too, like all their basic assets, monsters and weapons being straight out retracing BOTW, and of course the art and graphics engine. Welcome to China.
@@rRekko the difference when genshin 'copied' breath of the wild, they made something from scratch... They 'copied' the style, the art, etc. They copied but at the end of the day, they still started from scratch. This issue here in ToF is the devs blatantly just steal the asset - not copy - steal! ...pairing that with copying animation from others, deleting transaction history of a player, and buying reviews - it paints an indicative of a larger lack of integrity.
scumbag development techniques or not, the game is actually pretty fun. did some of the duping myself back in CN before they patched it. hoping they make the same mistake in global, gotta get ahead of the whales somehow hahaha
Tower of Fantasy advertising themselves as the "genshin killer" was a good decision imo. Many, and i mean many genshin players, big content creators included, were (and still are) fed up with mihoyo's development of genshin, specifically with the lack of meaningful end game content (current "end game content" in genshin takes 30minutes to complete, and you can only do it once every TWO WEEKS). They wanted a game similar game to genshin that could be its competitor. They wanted a "genshin killer" that would incentivise mihoyo to do better.
And so, when the game turns out to be awful or simply not what they quite came for they'll leave and ToF will die out. I don't hate it, but advertising yourself as the 'X killer' often doesn't end well since at least 90% of the time you'll never deliver.
Lets be fair at 6:16, if I just put a fuckload of assets I got from other games inside a game, and you weren't actively playing the other games, would you notice them till they got called out? I mean certain things like a master sword MAY be noticeable to someone who never played zelda,
Yeah, I doubt they'd be as noticeable. Y'know, for the person who hasn't played that game the asset is stolen from but of course... there's always gonna be at least one dude or dudette who has played that game and recognize the asset.
Okay weird thing about the sword being recognized from honkai impact, if it is outsourced even if someone were to review it, if they don't have extensive honkai impact knowledge how would the reviewer even know. I played the shit out of genshin impact, which is what this game was comparing itself to, but have never touched honkai.
41:25 ... omg i'm malding, bro attempted to make a comparision but failed both the name of the character and the anime... yeah i like that thing, from that place... yap, that!
Anime always showing young girl because it's anime culture and their target audience is supposed to be shounen which age around 12-18. Adult consumer should mind the age gap and learn not to look at everything sexually.
Lol for that 2nd video, yeah they copied the whole composition but they obviously put in the work for the trailer. I wouldn't exactly call that trailer "Stealing." At that point just keep it.
Sooo we are going to ignore the fact that the moment something hits the market there are multiple Chinese replicas of it?? This is how the Chinese market worked for years! The court is there. Wait til you find out that A- the devs literally stated they were inspired by BotW and B- that literally every game every made "stole ideas" from something else. This shit isn't news
copyrighting is not to protect you. its to push the industry forward. the whole concept of an idea belonging to you without pushing the industry forward is imoral to me.
"Genshin would be better if it wasn't gacha" Fuck no it wouldn't. Gacha RPG is a popular genre for a reason, people fucking love it. What they mean to say is "the gacha would be better if you couldn't pay for it" which just goes without saying. But the thing with Genshin is there's no competitive play at all as far as I'm aware and the game isn't so unbalanced that you need rare tier 0 characters to clear difficult content so calling it p2w would be an exaggeration. People really approach gacha wrong in my opinion. They feel like they're owed specific characters-- whether some OP meta pick or a waifu-- and will either whale or save up currency for the banner they're on. At that point there's only one of 3 outcomes: you whale and feel like a jackass, you don't get the character and feel extremely frustrated, or worse you abstain from the core fucking mechanic of gacha games for a year while saving up enough ingame currency to summon until your gauranteed pity pull which is IMMENSELY dissatisfying. Or you can just use what you get, familiarize yourself with more characters, and pull whenever you feel like it. I'll tell you from experience: when I go for a random summon and get rare pulls, it feels so much more hype than when trying to get something what you desire most and failing. TL;DR the key to enjoying gacha is to stop having expectations you'll get some specific meta trash or one true waifu you're obsessed with. Don't play the slot machine to get the jackpot, play it because it's flashy and exciting.
Listen, when you set out to earn them $$$ you don't care who you offend or what you steal, just as long as it keeps bringing in the sweet bread. Eventually you will get called out on it, so what? A simple message on social media including the word " sorry or apology " is all it takes, I mean you can even make an intern write the darn thing for free.
Asmon: -I don't know about chinese copyright laws... Me: -It's real simple! "Chinese copy steals non chinese stuff - CPP sleep" "Chinese copy steals chinese stuff - CPP real shit!"
A Chinese company plagiarizing and copying someone else's hard work? Who would've thought? How could someone steal from Nintendo? Oh, I mean, MiHoyo, yeah, the creators of zelda breath of the wild.
This is the silliest shit ever, how many gacha games just endlessly and blatantly copy the exact same mechanics and game play as each other, only changes are the characters and storyline, yet people play the shit out of them and no one cares. Yet when the same happens to Genshin, it's an issue?

It would be different if they did their due diligence and just be confident with their own content and leaves other game alone.
Genshin was heavily criticized as zelda: BoTW copy by a lot of people, but they never once claimed themself as BoTW killer, nor stealing assets from other games.

This reminds me of the situation that happened with Yandere simulator and a rival game, Love Letter. Love Letter was made purely to spite the creator of Yandere Simulator. The creator of love letter eventually got into huge controversies and the project ultimately crashed and burned. Developers should focus more on making a good quality game, rather than be something to kill competition because more often than not, things made to spite something else does not last long
Yep, advertising yourself as the 'X Killer' means you're just setting yourself up for failure, a rookie mistake.

Well, this is what you get with a country without copyright laws

Kid, revenue has nothing to do with the game itself being alive or not.
@@evilmiyoho6742 what? @@Riku-Leela No. The game can be popular yet be dead. Cause this is a live service and a gacha. You ignore that because you don't know how the genre works. Genshin is a dead game. And the more people play it and pay Mihoyo for it won't change that fact, it will only reafirm it.
(was like a 96, no one gets 100 for finals in his class)
When it comes to production, people want to see results. Ego and honor no do not matter here. If mixing and copying assets is going to make the game better and provide better results, well then I’d say go for it. I just want a good game.
43:39 btw that is just taken from ghost in the shell iconic drop scene
First of all, as somebody who played Tower of Fantasy China version, the game is SOOOOO DIFFERENT from Genshin. Aside from exploration aspects, the whole thing is just not like Genshin. The combat, is so much better than Genshin, as you actually have to pay attention to your combos, and make smart plays cause the enemies are TANKY. There is aerial combat, and it plays a huge role in gameplay.
Visuals are similar, but of course, cel-shading is now the standard to follow when creating anime styled games. Music, totally different. Genshin's music is very classical and traditional, however ToF music is JAZZ, slow rock, modern piano, EDM. Characters, may look similar, especially when it comes to hair, but I mean there is just enough you can do with hairstyles.
Even the story is so much more different than Genshin's story. ToF's story is about rebuilding a world after apocalypse. Tell me which part of that is like Genshin?
Yall need to stop being so narrow-minded. You guys have been craving for a gorgeous open world MMO for YEARS, and when one has finally arrived, you guys decide to bash it. How much you wanna bet that all of you ToF haters will, surely, download and play the game SECRETLY once it comes out. Remember, Genshin was tremendously bashed for being a BoTW clone months before its release, and look at where it is now.
Lmao
Pretty meh
"The combat, is so much better than Genshin"
This is heavily debatable, the combat does NOT follow the same guidelines as Genshin's and therefore cannot be judged to be trully superior.
Genshin focuses on a more tactical approach to combat where character usage order and elemental combinations are for more important than things like combos, mobility and timmings. meanwhile Tower of Fantasy is more of an action game
And genshin is a BOTW clone
29:27, he indeed came from the future
Genshin mmo with character creation and actual assets from genshin? Sounds like a winner.
Couple other studios could grab everything from genshin and make it 1000 times better than that piece of shit.

Not to mention our "end game content" gives like, 2 pulls every time? 3 if you aren't a filthy casual and 4 if you play meta to a T or play wallet
And so, when the game turns out to be awful or simply not what they quite came for they'll leave and ToF will die out.

Truth be say gacha games are Pog , but they soooo fucking adicted 😂. Waifu always sell.
Listen, when you set out to earn them $$$ you don't care who you offend or what you steal, just as long as it keeps bringing in the sweet bread. Eventually you will get called out on it, so what?
