You had me yelling no no no as the vegemite was coming out. Buttered bread with a small pea size amount spread thinly. The instructions used to be on the jar. It's a seasoning not a spread. So sorry you had to go through that the hard way.
LOL we appreciate that now there’s a lot of Australian people letting us know how to do it right 😅 at least we won’t make the same mistake if we try it again!
As an American that grew up in Australia I was also yelling at the tv. 100% agree with the guidance. I still love Vegemite.
In New Zealand we put a drop or 2 in sauces and minced beef. I think you guys might be better off with our version. Marmite is alot milder and not as salty.

Marmite\Vegemite are both fine if you eat them in the appropriate serving size (a very thin spread) Whoever started selling that in a squirty bottle is a sadist...

I love Vegemite or Marmite nice and thick. But that isn't for everyone, and I'm amazed there is enough of a market for a squirty bottle.

nice on wheat bix as well cornflakes stuff like that oh and Vegemite i can eat it by the spoon nice in stews soups and with cheese and pastry rolled up but i was grown up on the stuff

Vegemite is an acquired taste but amazing when done correctly. Next time you should put butter on the toast with the ratio 2(butter):1 (vegemite)! Lots of love from AUS! 🇦🇺

Too much Vegemite for someone starting. I introduced some people to Vegemite in NH, USA. They had the same reaction, and couldn't get rid of the taste :)

My younger sister lives in Australia. The first time I visited her there, and tried Vegemite, I didn't love it, but, as many have said in the comments, it's definitely best with a small amount. It's intense and not for everyone. Tim Tams are amazing! My brother loved Milo.
i've stories from mother saying they would rub it on the gums of teething babies (mom told me she did it to me), getting use to it from childhood...
I can eat quiet a bit more per slice, and eat 4-8 slices (but with 1-2 table spoons of butter (try with melted cheese over the top, add slice of ham)...

Tasting international snacks is always very interesting.
I haven't tasted these snacks before, so I can't say which one is my favourite.
I did, however, try vegemite in a correct manner and it was quite good.
Hi from Oz, 😀 So the Vegemite controversy continues. People overseas always put too much on, it's meant to be a thin ...THIN spread over your toast, sometimes with some butter to dilute the impact. The squirty bottle is just all kinds of wrong. Thank you for showing off some of our best exports: Tim Tams. 🥰

To have milo, you go 2 heaped spoons of milo in the glass, then add milk to about 3/4 way mix until milo is coated in milk, then eat milo on top, then drink milk

My favorite was the Tam Tams! You both never fail to entertain! Some Australians say a very thin coating of Vegemite on toast can be pretty good. Other Australians use a spoonful of it as a punishment for losing a challenge on their channels LOL!

I noticed that Twisties and Fonzies have almost the same packaging, but since the cheese is different depending on the country, I thought maybe they would taste different. Thank you for confirming this! As always, you made a great video!

You gotta do a tim tam slam with the classic timtams - make yourself a tea, coffee or hot chocolate (ozzi points if you use the milo to make the hot choc) bite one corner off each side and use the timtam as a straw 🇦🇺
And yes, vegimite is an enquired taste i can eat it by the spoon full 😅 but even im seen as strange with it 😅😅

Okay, an aussie here. You’re right on with the timtams! Now Vegemite, you only need a TINY amount and put it with cheese on toast! It’s amazing! You ladies did great!
mate lets not lie here. All us aussies know that the best way to enjoy our delicious delicacy commonly known as vegemite is as simple as spreading a nicely sized dollop of butter on your slice then after letting the butter melt over the warm toasty bread spread the same amount of vegemite over it, be sure the ratio is around 55% butter 45% vegemite then enjoy. thanks mate👍

How to eat Vegemite spread butter on bread then use a small 1/2 a teaspoon then spread it on top of the buttered bread then enjoy.😄
The trick with this spread really thing Hailee that's too much. As a Australian we LOVE Vegemite.

First nibble of a edge say left top then nibble of bottom right then put one of the nibbled edges into your coffee then quickly put you mouth around the exposed edge and suck melted chocolate into your mouth when you do this think of it like a straw OMG your mouth will love you forever sorry about the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy reference anyway my two favourite girls you are welcome and if any of my countrymen ask who told you "The Secret" you did not get it from me.
When using Vegemite it should be a golden brown colour you only need a small amount with butter! Xx

As an Australian who loves all the foods u just ate I laughed so hard at y’all reactions 😂 and oh lord how much Vegemite u put on that bread oh lord have mercy like I love Vegemite to the point I’d eat it off a spoon but seeing someone who has never tried it before put that much I was saying this ain’t gonna end well and the fact hailee hid all the food she loved was amazing😂
Kendra, you had it right the first time. The amount of vegemite you had on the knife was the maximum amount to spread it on toast. But you put butter on the toast first and let the butter melt in. It's not like Nutella, you don't scoop it or spray it on like that.
Yes, we love vegemite. We give it to our toddlers when they start solids on a bit of toast with butter. Shapes are the best. Good on you ladies for trying Aussie snacks
With the vegimite, only put a thin layer on toast with butter, you can also try cheesymite, which is cream cheese with vegimite together
If you guys are having this much trouble with Vegemite, there's no way you could handle Scottish food. (And yes, this qualifies as a dare.)

Vegemite is fantastic, it's best on Toast with tons of butter/margarine with a high butter to vegemite ratio. It also goes nicely on a sandwich with cheese so that fat from the cheese mixes nicely with the saltiness and umami flavour of the vegemite. You put way too much vegemite on the bread and this is a common problem that foreigners do when they try vegemite.

Let me tell you about the tim tam slam! You bite off two diagonally opposite corners and you use the tim tam as a straw to drink milk. It's amazing.

With Milo you can either drink it with cold milk or you stick 6 tablespoons of it in a mug pour hot water until covering the Milo mix well then pour milk the rest of the way makes them drink much better that way
twisties were my grandma's favourite for a lot of my life and so were the arnotts biscuits.
Cheezels are my fav in Australia. I used to propose to my friends with them and then divorce by eating it 😂
Also for the veggiemite I love it, I love lots but most people have a little with butter on toast

When you put that much of veggiemite i said oh no. no no no. i had it when i was in australia and i didn't like it. i thought it's just an acquired taste. i like white chocolate but i don't mind dark chocolate because it's a healthier choice for me. i love milo. i put a little bit of hot water to melt it then cold. with milk. yum!

Dark Chocolate, as I like a little bitterness, and Dark chocolate works well with so many other flavours and bring out their highlights, Like Mint, Cherry, Rum, Orange, I could go on for hours. And dark chocolate is really nice with a decent Shiraz or Cab Sav. An so far Mint Slice is my Favourite out of everything you have there, I can eat a family pack by myself watching a movie or youtube, and then Hate myself once I've finished.

(Sorry, I raised a teenage boy who went through a phase where he wore the same pair of socks until they could do a load of clothes on their own...foooooouul. thank God that phase went away.
There was a time that I came home from work and my whole end of the house smelled like something died.
After almost an hour of checking for a dead animal, I went into my bathroom and he had dropped his hellborn, rotten, sweaty socks over the floor vent.
We had a looooong talk about hygiene and maturity and he did his own freaking laundry after that lol. (Plus I told him if it happened again he was going to find them stuffed into his pillow 😏). Jesus, that was a tangent down a winding side road lol... sorry about the weird ramble!!)

Vegemite is a spread that is like cilantro your taste buds reaction is different from person to person. Also spread butter on the toast first then a very very thin layer of Vegemite.

I grew up in Australia and I still am so I’m used to all of those and there all the absolute best I still don’t know what use eat instead of those because that’s all our snacks I have 0 idea what other people grew up with. Also your reaction to them all are so funnyq❤️

the vegemite was hilarious 😂 11:31 the assorted cream biscuits you tried in order were Monte Carlo, shortbread cream, kingston(my personal favourite of the assortment), delta cream and lastly orange slice.

Interestingly, you commented that it doesn't taste chickeny enough, it is actually one of the few chicken flavoured foods to contain actual chicken (chicken fat specifically) and thus is not safe for vegetarians.

Still, to put things in Perspective. You should have seen my face, first and only time I tried American staples. Like...
Hershey Bars, Dr. Pepper, RC Cola, Michelob Gold, Anchor Steam, Sam Adams Ale or Coors. 😂🤮
Tim Tams are our peak snacks, but even better if you bite the ends off, then drink a hot chocolate or coffee with it like a straw.

watching you put all that Vegemite on your bread I was beginning to scream at my monitor, the amount that you put on there could well-and-truely cure cancer. It's supposed to be a THIN layer on top of butter/margarine on toast. It's actually pretty good when you're sick and can't really eat a lot, it satiates your appetite.
I mean… if I didn’t have an appetite I wouldn’t choose something like that, but that’s personal taste lol

Vegemite is from the bottom of a still essentially it's spent brewers yest mixed with veggies. Next time you make a pot roast use some Vegemite in the in the broth for the he gravy will give amazing flavour

You can get the Milk Chocolate Tim Tams here.... or at least they were available ~6yrs ago, as I got them at Walmart.
The Aussie thing to do with them, as told to me by Australians, is bite both ends off and drink your milk through it like a straw. _(until it's soaked some up, then eat it, and repeat)_ 😊
As for Marmite and Vegemite... I believe they're both a waste product of making beer... But don't hold me to that! (too tired to wiki it to confirm lol)
Aaand, as a kid, I was all about milk chocolate.
After 30 I started liking Dark, and it's _almost_ the only chocolate I eat now.
As someone from Australia, I was (legit) yelling through the screen not to have that much Vegemite, haha. Most Aussies don't eat Vegemite like that.😊
In 🇿🇦 we drink milo as a hot drink. Like coffee. You use boil water sugar and milk. Or you can just eat it with a spoon out of the can it is also awesome
I grew up with Vegemite and I love it, but I am also weird amongst Aussies because I like it spread thick. Most have toast with lots of butter and a very small amount of Vegemite. Also Vegemite doesn't go off. It will likely outlast the glass it is stored in.
Most of the chocolate products are made by Hershey’s in the USA, which adds both Butyric Acid & polyglycerol polyricinolreate (PGRP) to their products,
Where European chocolate is made from Shea butter, Cocoa & fresh Milk,
USA Chocolate is made with less cocoa and sour milk, then Butyric Acid is added as a stabilising agent, along with the (PGRP), to give it a longer shelf life, it is both of these two ingredients that Europeans don’t like about US chocolate, as they give the chocolate a strong tangy taste & that strange vomit smell & flavour,
Hershey's - like many US chocolatiers - adds polyglycerol polyricinoleate (PGPR) to some of their confections.
This additive is made from castor oil and helps the chocolate flow nicely into molds, around fillings, and also reduces the amount of expensive cocoa butter needed to make chocolate candy.

Tim-Tams are definitely my favorite from when i was there. I really enjoyed meat pies too but those have to be made relatively fresh. The ones I've seen in various US grocery stores claiming to be Aussie are absolutley NO comparison.
