Bantayan Island got its name from the word Bantayan sa Hari which means "Watchtowers of the King". Folklore says that the inhabitants would should "Bantayan!" which means, "keep watching, " which led to people calling it Bantayan.

HOW TO GET THERE?
BY BUS or VHire
Head to SM North Bus Terminal and take the bus bound for the Hagnaya port (jump-off point for Bantayan Island) . Travel time from Cebu City to Hagnaya is around 3 hours and fare is between Php 250 - 300 depending on whether you take a bus or v-hire
From Hagnaya port to Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, you can take a ferry boat and the ride is around 1 hour (fare around P325).

2. Kota Beach
Public Beach is Free of charge
3. Ogtong Cave/ Sta Fe Beach Resort
