I always find it remarkable how so many people will tell me the Bible is wrong and/or "made-up stories" but archeology discoveries always prove the Bible was correct.

The Bible is actually very clear on the issue that the 430 years was from Abraham first being called on GOD to leave Ur to the Exodus. The 400 years is also from the birth of Isaiah to the Exodus. The Bible isn’t trying to tell us the Israelites spent 400 years as slaves, it’s speaking to around 210 total years in Egypt and maybe 130-135 years of that time was as slaves based on the information in scripture. Even the Jews don’t teach that they spent 400 years as slaves and they don’t even have the New Testament to clarify a lot of the information from the Old Testament. They were promised a 400 year period as sojourners and slaves in a land that was not their own before they’d be released from slavery and those 400 years started with the birth of Isaac

It's terrible how Bible related findings of all kinds are hidden and covered up on a vast number of subjects. It's as if people see that the Bible is historically accurate they will drop their faith and run to get baptized! You could find Noah's ark and it would not by itself bring forth a conversion.
Thankfully there are a few secular scholars that report their findings accurately as possible and let the chips fall where they may. Robert Sepehr is one on UA-cam I find to be excellent. Big thank you to "Is Genesis History?".

@mrvax2 They did find Noah’s Ark, and even the Christian world rejected it. Sodom and Gomorrah, the split rock, the real Mt. Sinai, the city where Jacob settled in Egypt and more were found as well. It’s a shame that so many reject the evidence simply because they don’t want to believe, they trust the so-called ‘experts’, don’t like the people who found it, or are jealous so do all they can to discredit it.

So in short: A levantine seer who puts the king of gods - who brings life by means of the river - at the foremost and has total command over egypt (but isn't king), who is responsible for building great levees for grain production in a historically known place, who lived 400 years (=/- 1/2 generation) before the exodus, the record of whom has explicitly been preserved for posterity. Thank you Dr. Petrovich. My Bible is true.

2:35 "To the day' in Exodus. 'who dwelt in Egypt' (Masoretic) or 'who dwelt in Canaan and Egypt' (Septuagint Nathan's quote) and if the Sept is true and for other reasons, does the 'sojourn in a land not their own' include Canaan? ...'the promise' mentioned in Galatians was made 30 years i think before the birth of Issac, before the command about the foreskin, and before the 400 yr timeline of the sojourn was told to Abraham as he slept and God walked through the pieces of the sacrifice on his behalf. The 'promise' Paul mentioned in Galatians, I think, was way back in Gen. 12 as I recall, or anyway one of the earliest calls of Abram who would be renamed Abraham. So maybe we have 30 (that call way back till Issac) plus 400 (Issac to Exodus/Sinai)? "'the 'Promise' to the 'Law'" is not the same as "the 'Sojourn' to 'the Law'. Moses makes it sound like Jacob to the exodus was 400. But the 400 originally refers to Abraham's seed in the firepot vision, not Jacob, but Issac. So I am going to trust that I will understand this better someday. Is Moses' 'Jacob' a term for the promised nation in general, starting with the promised seed Isaac before refining to Jacob and his sons? Sorry this is on the fly.

21:29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs

ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto
me, that I have digged this well.
21:31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they
    sware both of them.

This is the most accurate. How? Moses himself wrote the Genesis accounts from documents he had from before him and also in his own words of everything of which he witnessed, what the nations around him where doing and even went so far as to list his own sin and mistakes.
He listed everything he and the Patriarchs wrote of by a day, month, year and by location also. No written record is as precise and organized as the Bible's very organized and documented timing of events. In fact no written record of any other book has survived as it has in whole(for which by any known standard is considered impossible and most likely had to have been preserved by "Divine Intervention"). Which the Epic Of Gilgamesh for which many Scholars scoff as being the source for the Bible clearly fail to acknowledge that their Epoch is pieced together from fragments at best and of which Kingly Politicians and Pagan Gods priest and followers mocked the one true God. And did so without listing any organised or believable dating.

How do we arrive at a correct timeline. We take the 70 weeks and carry that back to 455 from Jesus anointing(Baptism). The 70 weeks prophesied from Daniel of when Jesus was to be baptized and began his preaching work in 29 CE. From here its all easy going backwards. Therefore, the time “from the going forth of the word” to rebuild Jerusalem until “Messiah the Leader” would be 7 plus 62 "weeks,” or 69 "weeks”-483 years-from the year 455 B.C.E. to 29 C.E. As mentioned above, in the autumn of that year, 29 C.E., Jesus was baptized in water, was anointed with holy spirit, and began his ministry as “Messiah the Leader.”,,,,
Year 455 and 62+7= 69 weeks of years(483-455=29ce Jesus Baptism As Foretold),,,,,
Daniel 9;25,,,,,,,25 You should know and understand that from the issuing of the word to restore
and to rebuild Jerusalem until Mes·siʹah the Leader, there will be 7 weeks,
    also 62 weeks. (=69 weeks of 7 years=483-455=29ce)
She will be restored and rebuilt, with a public square and moat, but in times
    of distress.
The rest is going backwards mathematically with known Geologies, King Reign'al Years and you will need Python Computer Language to handle all these data likewise or a team of many persons to help track it all on chalkboards as Outlines or using a Tree Structure with branches drawn out for all to see.
Differences in Months between the Hebrew Calendar and the Modern Roman Calendar is this easy mindset--------Each month in Hebrew corresponds to the middle of two Roman months which even though is not dead on perfect but does give the actual month when calculating Bible days mentioned which they are many times in the Bible and noted in the Timeline above. Those that are not are listed as (b) meaning before, (a) meaning after (c) meaning circa or very near.
Documents of Genesis also have their respective writers all listed in the original Septuagint in the Margins from year 200ce likewise which most entirely miss when translating copies. It is Amazing to note Adam, Noah and Shem even wrote document verses of it which later Moses transcribed. So why would anyone question that is beyond reason........
Another interesting note is that Noah was still living when the Tower Of Babel was built and destroyed. He died some 19 years after that event.
2368 B.C. Birth of Arphaxad Gen. 11:10(2 years after the flood)
a 2239 B.C. Building of the Tower of Babel Gen. 11:4

    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
a 2020 B.C. Shem, Ham, Japheth write Document IV, Gen. 10:1 Gen. 6:9-10:1
    2018 B.C. Birth of Abraham Gen. 11:26
a 1978 B.C. Terah writes Doc. No. VI,
    Gen. 11:10-27 Gen. 11:27
Also to note Shem Noah's youngest son lived on after Abraham's wife Sara had died.
    1881 B.C. Death of Sarah, age 127 Gen. 23:1
1878 B.C. Marriage of Isaac and Rebekah Gen. 25:20
    b 1868 B.C. Shem writes Doc. No. V,
    Gen. 10:2-11:10 Gen. 11:10
    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
1868 B.C. Death of Shem, within 600 years Gen. 11:11
    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
1858 B.C. Birth of Esau and Jacob Gen. 25:26
Using the Daniel verses, The Day For A Year Rule and by marking down every timed event going backwards from the 70 weeks Daniel-Prophesied to 29ce in correlation with 455bc a fixed date of both the Bible and the Common Era. We are able to calculate an accurate timeline. How? Because we have established 455.
An example of how the Bible keeps a precise timed record of events,,,,,,
    455 B.C. Jerusalem’s walls rebuilt by Neh. 1:1; 2:1, Nehemiah Ne 2:11; Ne 6:15
    Nehemiah 1;1,,,,,
The words of Ne·he·miʹah the son of Hac·a·liʹah: Now in the month of Chisʹlev, in the 20th year, I was in Shuʹshan the citadel.
    Nehemiah 2;1,,,,,
1 In the month of Niʹsan, in the 20th year of King Ar·ta·xerxʹes, wine
was set before him, and as usual I took up the wine and gave it to the king.
(Here Artaxerxes asked Nehemiah why he was feeling down and out then the King granted him to go rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and to Restore the Temple)---Note the Iraq and British museums both have copies off Artaxerxes decree which contains his official date.
    Nehemiah 6;15,,,,,
15 So the wall was completed on the 25th day of Eʹlul, in 52 days.
(The walls completion)---Note from above we add the time in years, days and months to ascertain the year, day and month respectively when the wall was completed then move on and do the same with the Temples Dedication which also had a steele of Commemoration by Artaxerxes as well.
From Adam to Noah, the Flood to the Tower Of Babel,,,,,,

In this lecture from 2017 Dr. Petrovich referenced a book that would examine his claims and evidence that was about to be published (later in 2017). Did such a book ever make it to completion? How would one determine if such a book is available? A cursory search has produced nothing in print, at least as far as I can find. Any assistance would be appreciated.

@andrion waser This is where most err in their timeline. The Exodus was NOT 430 years after Jacob's arrival. The 430 years was from Abraham receiving the promise to Moses receiving the Law.(Gen 12:1-4 and Gal 3:16-17 and historian Josephus) Joseph appears about 200 years into the 430 year promise from God. Moses' mother arrives with the 70 when Joseph invites all his family to come to Egypt. This is 215 years into the promise and 2 years into the famine. Moses' birth is 64 years after the death of Joseph. The MAXIMUM number of years possible for captivity is 144. And most likely less. Dr. Petrovich suggests 114 IIRC. If you get your first part of the timeline correct, the all the rest of what you said will need adjusting.

The information is quite interesting but I ask about his refer to scripture. His references to Galatians 3 and Exodus does not account for Genesis 15:16. It is a promise of the return in 4 generations. If the whole 430 yrs was in Egypt then this promise was not keep. Harmony is understanding Exodus 12:40,41 as per Greek Septuagint and others to 2 periods of 125 years each in Canaan and then Egypt resulting in returning after 4 generations. This further aligns Abrahamic promise of 430 yes was between Abraham and God. Not the offspring but refers to them as a promise. It also them confirms 400 yr affliction of ending with Exodus but starting with Ishmael actions 400 yes earlier. Remember he was half Egyptian and Israel were freed from Egyptian slavery. This timeline accounts for all related verses. The additional information of the time highlights 5hat record is true.

You take the "scenic route", suggesting the Torah was "subsequently updated" with the new names of the relevant geography. by divinely inspired scribes. A blasphemous notion which directly contravenes Deuteronomy 13:1 (notwithstanding context relating to revising commandments, the concept of 'ba'al tosif' is a known quantity prohibition). This is further underscored by the Maimonidean 13 faith principles. I think would have have made far more sense to say that as the Torah, being G-d's word, is beyond anachronism. I think your explanation better accommodates those seeking parallels between the whimsical revisionists of the published Christian gospels to the soferic standard held by Hebrew scribes over millennia.

I agree. The scripture indicates Rameses was the name of a land region in Egypt:
_"And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded." -- Gen __47:11__ KJV_
That does not imply the name Rameses was used only for that land. It appears it was also used to name a city built by the children of Israel, and possibly a later Phaorah and some offspring.

So many flaws in your chronology, Egyptology takes its chronology from Champollion who is up to 300 years out, David Rohl has a new chronology bringing Egyptian Pharaohs inline with the Scriptures.
Abraham crossed the Euphrates in 1945BCE making the beginning of the 430 years, 215 years is when Jacob moved to Egypt, In the background gods servants were being manoeuvred by God. So that would be 1730BCE. Abraham was dedicated by crossing the Euphrates.
Abraham was born in 2018BCE, 2 years after Noah died.
    So Champollion is your Achilles!

  • @BrandonCorley109

His interpretation of Galatians 3 is horrible, at least the way he states it.
“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed"
Here, Paul speaks of the promise of blessing the world given to Abraham. The Gospel was revealed in the Abrahamic covenant.
"He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ."
Here, Paul identified the singular "seed" as Christ; not as Jacob like Petrovich says.
"What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later"
That is, 430 years after the promise to Abraham
"does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.”
    ‭‭
The contrast here is between the Abrahamic Covenant of promise and the Mosaic Covenant of law.
The 430 years is going from God's last reaffirmation of the Abrahamic Covenant to Jacob (Gen 46), as the Baker Exegetical Commentary says,
"the covenant which God made with Abraham was repeated and confirmed in identical language in the promise addressed to Isaac and to Jacob. Compare, for example, Gen. 22:18 (to Abraham), 26:4 (to Isaac), and 28:14 (to Jacob), in each of which are found the words: "And in your seed shall all the nations (in 28:14: "families") of the earth be blessed." "It may not be unreasonable to suppose that it was from such a time, at which the promise was confirmed (to Jacob) that Paul is measuring the interval which extends to the giving of the law at Sinai" (C. R. Erdman, op. cit., p. 69). This, as I see it, best accounts for the figure "four hundred thirty years afterward."
So Petrovich is correct as to the timing, but the way he gets there is certainly wrong.

However, the Phoenician, Hebrew, and other Canaanite dialects were largely indistinguishable before the 11th century BC, and the writing system is essentially identical. ...
Why the insistence that Phoenicians...and not Israelites ...invented the Alphabet?...
Why not oppressed Hebrew (i.e. Semitic) slaves of Sinai of Egypt, simplifying the complex Egyptian Alphabet for their own, (perhaps even secret clandestine purposes and uses?...

I was surprised to hear you say, "In the day when Moses penned it." Moses obviously did NOT pen the Torah. He may have commissioned it but he certainly did not pen this document himself. How do I know this? Well, ask yourself this question: "If I were writing a document about myself, would I ALWAYS refer to myself in the third person?" None of the other biographers of the Old Testament ever did that, so why do we think Moses did? Isaiah always referred to himself in the first person, "And God said to me." He didn't say, "And God said to Isaiah", but if God ever talks to Moses, it's always, "God said to Moses." This is extremely odd for a sane person to write about himself. This, to me, is the strongest evidence that the Law was NOT written (i.e. personally penned) by Moses.
