A quick Beginner's Guide that tells you all you need to know and doesn't waste your time! Darkseid is a Powerful Fighter with Decent Zoning and a Great Rush-down! This tutorial will cover every special move, their meter burns, the most useful attack strings, Super, and some basic Bread & Butter combos (mid-screen and corner)!
BUTTON TRANSLATION
Xbox One
1 = X
2 = Y
3 = A
4 = B (character trait)

1 = Square
2 = Triangle
3 = X
4 = Circle (character trait)
DIRECTIONS
f = forward
b = back
d = down
u = up
qcf / qcb = quarter circle forward/back
hcf / hcb = half circle forward/back
MB = Meter Burn (Enhanced)
NJ = Neutral Jump

I love Darksied's standing animation post. It fits him so well in that it displays his strength and immense ego to boot. Also, his Omega beams; one of my favorite attacks as they NEVER miss.

I'd like to see a Doctor Fate, Green Arrow, or Firestorm combo guide, but honestly, as long as you're pumping out I2 content I'm content

I like how accurate it is too, considering that the omega beams are an offensive attack in the comics, making darkseid easily exploitable

Something he forgot to mention was that your minions actually engage the opponent if you grab them while they're out. Explosive guy launches the opponent into the air, charging guy knocks them down in front of you, allowing for a close-range setup. And flying guy let's you do more damage with the grab itself.

I really love Darkseid, I thought he would be harder for a complete noob to pick up, but he's really not that bad. I haven't actually tried playing online yet though, so there's that. I am surprised to find that his Super isn't worth the meter, considering how it seems so easy to hit as you can just hit wherever the opponent is exposed, changing direction midways if you have to.
I'm a little late but this was very helpful! Darkseid is my favourite DC villain (well at least one of them) so now with this i would know how to react acordingly.

I know its been a long time but what would be even more perfect during those videos is AI Builds and what points to put where for certain characters so they are OP in AI fights while doing missions

hey man i feel like theres little point in some of your combos that you have shown that start with b+1, u+3>MB-b+3 ive found that after the b+3 catching their rebound with a late j+3,qcf+3 does around 400 damage which is more than the combos you showed for the b+1 starter, also this combo is simpler

I gotta say, darkseid is likely second best zoner in game fate being a very close third and it's obvious who takes top spot

He actually gets destroyed by a Meter Burn roll. Since all of his beams have long recovery.

How'd you get the combo guide on screen in practice mode?
In practice mode: Pause the game, go under move list, and you can press Y (Xbox One) or Triangle (PS4) to tag highlighted moves in the move list, and they'll appear on your screen as you fight

No it's not, it's an ability called reverse omega beam....

Is it just me or my Darkseid animation for 2213 has different omega beam animations compared to the one in this video? In this one, the omega beam goes forward but mine goes forward, but hits backward that’s why I cant seem to do some combos perfectly

noob question at 6:49 the notation reads F+2, 3 - 2, 2, 1+3. what is the difference between the dash and the comma that separate the inputs? Plus means pressed at the same time but what does the dash mean.
Spilogale it's different moves. comma separations indicate all one attack chain. the dash indicates a pause, in the combo. like if you meter burn the air stomp you have to pause your button pressing until the pop up, hence the dash.

What do you use to get in with Darkseid?
Teleport in the air. It creates a great mix-up. You can either do 3 into qcb+3 (overhead, low). Or you can do 2 into b+1, u+3 (overhead, overhead). You can also do the minion projectile before you teleport.

You can do 2, 2, LB/L1 if you want. That can make it easier. To make it work at longer combos, you have to do the jumping attack early. I hope this helps :)
